Chapter Fourteen
I reached my dorm after bidding goodbye to a hungover Elijah and the lovesick couple. To my big surprise, Leah was sitting comfortably on her bed with a laptop and humming to whatever song was playing through her headphones. Strange. I thought she would be upset over whatever happened the night before, or the way she was wailing at the party expected some brooding. But she looked unbothered about the situation.
"Leah!! are you feeling fine?" I asked cautiously, taking out something comfortable to change from the dresser. I needed a hot shower to relax my nerves.
"Yeah, I am fine. My head still hurts a little, but I think I can sleep it off," she said with a smile. "But you don't look very well. Not a party person, I see." She added, and I gave her a nod before heading to the community bathroom.
As soon as the warm water touched my skin, I felt some of the tension releasing. So many questions clouded my mind, and everything seemed so much messier than my life back at home. There I had only one thought in my mind, join college, get a degree and a decent job and dedicate the remaining whatever time I had to write. And even though the rest of the plans seemed organized well, the last one was still something that was forcing me off the tracks.
Then there was that handsome curly-haired guy who somehow set my imaginations and my reality on fire. There were so many unanswered questions running in my mind. I turned off the water and stepped out with a towel wrapped around my wet body. I looked at the slightly fogged mirror, and suddenly a vivid image of Jake came into my mind making me flustered all over again. Shrugging the thought aside, I quickly changed into my PJs and left the bathroom.
It can't be happening. I had to make sure Jake didn't break the barrier of my imagination. He wasn't the one I needed in my life.
