˚✧˳ Chapter 31 - Detention˳✧˚

Wanna skip detention?

CAUGHT IN WEBS

"DON'T YOU EVER STOP AND THINK THAT THERE'S SOMETHING SUS ABOUT (Y/N)?"

Peter turned his head to Ned, who can't help but feel baffled over the girl who has always been mysterious. They were close, but they never really knew anything about her.

"Sus? Like suspicious? Nah." Peter replied, refusing to be confounded over the thought. She was a friend, and it's not like he has to know everything about her.

"Dude. You told me she was a spy, lives in an old apartment, and owns a BMW. When you think about it... It's so eerie." Ned admitted as he felt shivers down his spine. (Y/N) was a nice person but he too himself is one of those who was frightened by her presence.

"Nah. You're thinking too much. I'm pretty sure it's just Nick Fury fetching her that yesterday—I mean, she's kinda weird sometimes but that's about it."

"I prefer you guys to not talk about me in front of my door." (Y/N) appeared in plain sight with her backpack hanging on her arm as she leans in front of the entrance.

"O-Oh, we were just talking about that other girl from the class, you know? What's her name again, Ned?" Peter tried to come up with a lie with his best friend.

Ned started whistling to prove his innocence, while also pretending he didn't hear anything.

"Work on your lying more, Spidey." (Y/N) sighed as he gave a tap on Peter and began to calm down with Ned from her apartment.

(Y/N) (L/N)

Ah, yes, one of the things I love about the New York subway is the passengers. There's fighting, unnecessary curse words, or people who just wears a batman costume on a Monday but I'm assuming he works as a cosplayer or something.

There are rats eating pizzas on the ground while people continued to worry about their next month's rent of their small ass apartment.

Finally, we arrived at school.

"This past weekend, Mid town's Academic Decathlon team defeated the country's best, to win the national championship. Later that day, they also defeated death." The school's TV appeared the two students who always talked like they didn't get enough sleep.

Right after our first class, they showcase the clips to make sure everyone will hear the news.

"Explosion! Sally scream! Flash scream! Everybody screaming!"

"There were purple lasers and smoke! It was *TOOT* tight, like a Bon Jovi concert!"

"As you know, we made it out alive, and that's the important thing... I couldn't bear to lose a student on a school trip—Not again." Mr. Harrington revealed which was mad sus as the camera zoomed in on his face.

"Thankfully, no one was seriously injured thanks to the Spider-Man," Jason said in the usual, unsurprised tone.

"But wait, did you know that there was also another hero from the scene," Betty revealed with the most monotone voice.

"Oh, really, who is it?" The sarcasm in Jason's voice on the television is digging into my nerves.

"People only had a glimpse of her on the scene, but we were lucky enough to have a picture." She stated.

They presented a pixilated picture of me smashing through the window. No one really got a good photo of me in that scene? It's like they took the photo on a calculator.

"Reports said that she left a message in the Monument's safe system and was able to fix it in the same day—She also got trending on Twitter for her unique abilities; They were calling her Blaze."

"Rumor says that they are partners in crime in real life," Jason commented, which was absolutely true I'll give him that. "If possible, maybe they could be even lovers in real life."

"Thank you, Spider-Man and Blaze,"

"Thank you, Spider-Man and Blaze,"

They both said as if they were held at gunpoint.

"Hm. So much for that, huh?" I said as I walked away from the T.V. It's weird that I wanted to be known before, now I don't care anymore. "Blaze... I like it."

Saving them felt good, but I don't know why I'm not amused with the attention I was getting from the internet.

Peter had the brightest smile plastered on his face. It was written with proud and I found it quite appealing that he was enjoying the fame he was having despite the people not knowing that it was him.

"Did you hear what they said about us (Y/N)?!" Peter cheerfully said as he slides down the staircase to catch up on me.

"Y-Yeah, I did." I agreed, trying to sound happy about it too.

"You don't sound happy about it..?" Peter's tone went down as soon as he saw my bored expression.

"Oh, of course, I am! I was romanticizing of heroes so much that I never knew that I'd be able to reach that point in my life..." I admitted, which Peter found complex for a reason.

"Dude, dude, dude!" Ned from behind came walking towards us as the school's bell rang.

"What is it like being famous when nobody knows it was you?" Ned asked with excitement in his eyes as he both gazed at us proudly.

"It's crazy, dude," Peter whispered back, returning the same energy.

"It's crazy—Should we tell everyone?"

"No," Peter answered almost immediately.

"Should I tell everyone?"

"That's worst," I commented.

"I've seen your photo. By the way, great job with those files! I'd give you a gold coin if I had one." Ned complimented.

"Anyway, come on, we'll be late for class!" He followed as both he and I began walking towards the locker area.

"I-I'm not going to class." Peter discloses which took me a few a second to realize what he just said.

"What do you mean 'you're not going into class'?" I questioned, as I slowly began to be furious.

"(Y/N), Ned. I've figured it out... The wingsuit guy is stealing from Damage Control; What he takes from Damage Control, that's how he builds the weapons, so all I gotta do with you, (Y/N), is to catch him!" Peter planned out as if what all he just said was a simple task.

"But we have a Spanish quiz," Ned responded. I appreciate that he wasn't giving in with Peter's schemes.

"Ned, I'm probably never gonna come back here."

'Oh, you're full of yourself now, huh?'

"Excuse me?"

"(Y/N), Mr. Stark is moving the Avengers upstate and I wanna introduce you to him as well so we could be part of them. When we bring this guy in—"

"Dude. You wanna be a high school dropout?" Ned said, sounding very concern of what was Peter was onto right now.

"I am so far beyond high school right now!" Peter said, full of pride.

"Peter, come back here," I scolded as I remained to stand up next to Ned, who seems to be against of this idea.

I mean, I graduated high school when I was 12, and I'm here again. Am I complaining?—Well, yeah.

"Parker, my office." Mr. Morita's voice was heard as soon as Peter turned in the other direction. Oh, how lucky he was to get caught by the principal himself.

Peter groaned in disapproval as he adjusted his backpack, walking away from his freedom's exit.

"Unfortunate time of events," I smirked at Peter as he got escorted by Mr. Morita.

˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚✧ 🕷 ✧˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚

Peter's eyes followed me once I entered the detention room. I'd rather do all chores of the house than stare at the white wall—Actually, they were watching Captain America's moral lessons on the T.V;

Hm. Well, that's fun.

"You're late." Mr. Wilson announces as he lends the pen out on his desk for me to write my name on the list.

"Einstein said time is relevant. Maybe you're just early." I shrugged, giving a light smile to our gym teacher, who seems more confused than he already is.

Once I twisted my heel to face the empty class, there I found Peter with a smug smile. I groaned and rolled my eyes as I took offense at how his expression responded to me having detention.

I sat in the very front row of the seat with an annoyed face, away from him, trying to avoid any talking or any physical contact.

Once I heard chairs clanging from my side, I took a tired sigh. I knew Peter switched positions to take a sit at the back desk. "So... What brings you here?" He asked in his low register.

"I put super glue on Flash's stool during Science class. Mission was a success, but they saw evidence of me doing it, so here I am."

"Well, Unfortunate time of events." He mocked as I felt a light tug on my (H/C) hair.

He was fondling strands between his fingertips and was brushing it gently with his hands.

"I like your hair."

"I hate you," I answered in an irritated tone.

To be honest, I learned a lot from Peter. I have to admit; I was someone who was a full of herself. I'm a selfish child that wanted fame just because I have powers. And seeing those kids almost got their life taken away because of some accident both Peter and I should be the blame for. There was more than what a hero should be.

And Peter thought me that.

I glanced at the teacher and found that he had no interest whatsoever in this job. He's on the edge of falling into a deep sleep.

A part of me seeing him planning to skip class was rather a disappointment... But maybe it can be fun as well..?

I turned my head to face him. "Wanna skip detention?" I questioned.

"Should've said so." He replied as he stood up with his backpack finally strapped around his shoulder.

˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚✧ 🕷 ✧˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚

"You really think we're close to finding out who big bird is?"

There was nothing but nerd talk about filling our routine back to his house. Peter was talking science while I was going hypothesis and making analytical adjustments to answer.

He was smiling to himself the entire time, as if this villain thing was a joke. He sometimes forgets that bad guys could kill and they're not just there for the climax.

"Peter, don't be too happy I know you're secretly horrified," I let out as he darted his eyes away from mine.

"Wha—?"

"I have literal empathy powers, I could sometimes communicate with the head if I wanted to, but that's kinda too extreme for me." I cut him off before he could finish his sentence.

"W-Wait? Is that true? No wonder why you put AirPods during Math class." Peter resolved.

'Yeah, because everyone is literally crying on the inside and it's giving me a headache because I could feel it.'

I don't even know if I should be even doing this. Me, a supposed guardian of Peter, has now become his partner to stop the chicken wing from selling illegal weapons.

But the fact that Tony was away made me less worried about my role. Now that he's gone there's free time for me; Enjoy now, suffer later.

"You know, it's kinda crazy that we'd reach this level." Peter brought up as he looked up ahead of our direction.

I shot a look at him. "Huh? What do you mean, Parker?"

"I don't know. A few months ago we were just strangers, and you were very rude to me most of the time and now we're here walking together back home... I love this routine." He said sincerely, with a grin spreading on his lips.

"First of all, I am still rude to you, and second, this is the part of my day where I certainly do not look forward to going to," I remarked, crossing my arms.

"Pft. Just admit that you love me, Ms. (Y/N)."

"Never will. Even if someone magically snaps everyone to disappear, not in a million years."

"You're very funny when you're flustered... And you're cute when you act all tough and mighty," He confessed, as if those words didn't mean anything to him.

Now, Peter is the kind of guy to literally stutter in front of a woman. But the longer I hang out with him, it's as if his bashfulness got passed on to me.

"If you could read minds, then can you guess what animal I'm thinking of right now?"

"Peter, I'm not a mind reader I'm a 'feeling' reader."

˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚✧ 🕷 ✧˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚

Fun Fact: Peter has a picture of (Y/N) in his wallet.
