˚✧˳ Chapter 29 - It's A Bomb ˳✧˚
❝ Who the hell is Karen?! ❞
✧ CAUGHT IN WEBS ✧
˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚✧ 🕷 ✧˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚
"HEY, SUIT LADY. I KIND OF FELL BAD CALLING YOU 'SUIT LADY,' YOU KNOW?" Peter admitted to his newly formed A.I. After Ned disabled his 'training wheels' protocol that Stark intentionally settled in for, there were new things such as the robot living in his suit.
Despite having these new upgrades, with a lack of experience and exploring the unknown, he got trapped inside the most guarded facility of the Damage Control pact. With it, being professionally protected, he has to play the waiting game to come out.
With this growing boredom, he took the remaining time he has to explore all the new things he has for his suit.
"I think should probably give you a name..." Peter muttered as he relaxes on his hanging bed made by his webs.
"Like (Y/N)—No, no, no. God, that's—That's weird." He pulled back as if saying her name was a sin.
"What about... Karen?" Peter questions.
"You can call me Karen if you would like." The suit lady agrees.
˚✧˳✧˚
"Should I tell Liz that I'm Spider-Man?" Peter was now lying down on one of the huge boxes that occupied most of the big space inside.
"Who's Liz?" Karen sounded curious, despite it having to be a robot. With that tone, Peter immediately felt comfortable explaining his feelings to her.
"Just... Some girl at school." He stated. He found it odd that when he mentions her name, he doesn't feel those butterflies anymore. He doesn't turn his head when he sees her, he doesn't feel that nervous around her anymore, and it wasn't comparable to the feelings that he would receive from someone like--
"(Y/N)..." Peter whispered to himself as if it were owned by someone so dignified.
"(Y/N)," Karen repeated as if she had heard the name before. But as the creator of Tony Stark, she was unable to obtain the knowledge of the daughter of her inventor. It was erased from her data to make sure that no one will gain that secret in any way.
"Who is (Y/N), Peter?" She questioned, but this time she sounded more intrigued with the name.
"Oh, (Y/N)? Well, she's..." Peter felt his chest tighten when she heard her ask about the girl that makes his mind go in full circles. He could make a whole PowerPoint of that girl.
Every detail about her and every cute habit that she possessed came flooding his mind. To him, he was such an interesting girl who seems to hide a lot of secrets; And with that, he wanted to know more about her.
"She's my best friend actually... She's smart... Brave... Funny... Very beautiful--She's amazing." He explained, smiling to himself like an idiot being in love.
"She sounds lovely, Peter." Karen comments.
"Yeah, she is lovely." He agreed.
"Do you like her?"
"W-What? Nah, we're just friends! And my crush is actually Liz, and not her." Peter's chest began to pound. The thought of them together was something he'd often imagine but would also reject.
"You seem to be confusing yourself with admiration and devotion, Peter," Karen stated.
"What does that mean?"
"You sound like you fancy (Y/N) instead of Liz."
"Oh, yeah?"
"Most likely, yes. I do suggest clearing up your mind."
"But what if she doesn't like me back, you know? Since we are friends and all... I'm afraid that, she'll leave me." Peter's blabbering continued that he didn't even realize that he's finally giving in to the feeling.
"From your perspective, Peter; She sounds like someone who wouldn't leave just because you like her. And I'm sure she would like you back."
"Thanks, Karen. It's really nice to have somebody to talk to... Hey, how long we been here, anyway?"
"Thirty-seven minutes," Karen answered simply.
"What?! I cannot take this anymore. I got to—I gotta get out of here."

(Y/N) (L/N)
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEE—
"Ugh, god..." I groaned as I turned off my alarm. I fell asleep on my dad's desk and was drowning in Red Bull.
It was already 6 AM, and I was already greeted with the hundreds of miscalls by Happy. I growled in response, trying to clear my throat.
I might get in trouble again when I get back to the apartment, but on the bright side, I managed to finish my project, which was to fix Maria.
"Welcome. Voice activation required." The helmet spoke as soon as I inserted it inside my head.
"(Y/N) (L/N)," I stated, yawning.
"Access denied."
"(Y/N) Stark," I said, confused.
"Access denied."
"Damn you, Stark... Spoiled Brat." I gritted my teeth.
"Glad to have you back, Ms. Stark." It spoke as it scans the surrounding.
With having no access to Maria or any sort of artificial intelligence, I was unable to attain knowledge of the things that I am not aware of.
Still feeling like I'm on the verge of dose off, I slumped my head back down to the desk, trying to find my will to live.
"Hey, Maria. Do you know what a Chitauri Energy Core is?" I suddenly questioned.
"Yes. A Chitauri Energy Core is the source of Chitauri weapons that are considered being hybrid in that section—It is also a bomb." She added.
My ears perked up and my body went numb. "A bomb?! We've been carrying around a bomb this whole time?!!" I stood up, frightened by the thought.
"It would require radiation to transform it into an explosive state," Maria stated.
My blood went down and my mind was going around in circles. I need to find Peter.
"Maria! How much charge do you have left?!" I grabbed all my garments and a piece of a chocolate bar as I prepared all my boots.
"59% Ms. Stark."
"Shit. Will it be enough for us to reach D.C.? "
"Only a miracle would help for it to work, Ms. Stark."
"Great!" I muttered as I climbed on top of the window. Trying to ignore the height of the building. And with that kind of dissension, I'd often play a song to wipe out my fear.
"Maria! Play a song!" I yelled as I jumped off the window with my boots activating at the right time before I get to hit the ground.
My helmet activated to its original state as I flew off into the air with the weather having a cloudy state, with the sun merely rising.
"Why the hell would you play 'Drivers License?!' I'm literally in a middle of a crisis right now!"
"You told me to play whatever," Maria spoke calmly.
"Maybe a bit of hype music or rap from Cardi B or freaking Paramore would've been a better choice?!" I screamed back, doing my best to stay in constant pacing since I was in a rush to get there.
Maria then switched the song.
"Out of all the songs I have, you chose WAP?!—You know what just freaking play any Mozart song."
"As you wish, Ms. Stark."
"Okay... Now, will you please lead me to the map of Peter's tracker that's located in his suit?"
A map of a random Washington hotel appears in my view in a transparent state. I took a sigh of relief once I found Peter still in the building.
Just as long he doesn't leave the area, then no radiation would occur.
˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚✧ 🕷 ✧˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚
"Peter!" I called out.
I arrived at the front door of his room. "Peter, open up! This is (Y/N)!"
No answer. The curtains to their window were closed, so I couldn't tell. I began to knock furiously. "Peter! Open up! The core is a bomb! We must get rid of it!"
"Maria, scan what's inside."
"A single person stands in area."
The tracker says he's here. There was no answer. I need to bust this door open.
"Okay... 1... 2... 3!!" I ran up to the door and have managed to knock it off despite it having a lock-in between its line.
I looked around to find everything neatly fixed; Two beds and there was no sign of any luggage around. Though, there was an old scared lady hiding behind the bed.
"O-Oh my..." She peeked. She was the cleaning lady, apparently.
I approached the lamp to where I assume Peter's tracker was placed. And I was right.
"Oh, you little son of a bitch..." I cursed under my breath, pulling out the little strand of particle that is supposed to be placed inside anonymously inside his suit.
I glanced at the lady beside me. Still having the helmet concealing my face and with a voice recognition similar to a villain in a boss fight, I'm pretty her soul just left her body for a moment.
I kneeled down beside her and pulled out her hand. "Here... It's for the door." I handed her $500 before heading out of the place with a much more pissed-off expression.
He obviously made so many changes with his suit. Him being a smart ass is a disadvantage for us now that he's openly playing around with it like it was insignificant to his role as a teenager being the hero of the city.
"Maria, is there in any way you would be able to track the Spider?!"
"According to the data I have received from the update. He has activated his A.I yesterday. They are now somewhere in a facility that is owned by damage control."
So, he really did mess up the codes in his suit. I am going to smack that Spider to death when I reached there.
˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚✧ 🕷 ✧˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚
You know, out of all the things I expect myself to find Peter in. A damage control vault is not one of them. This is the most guarded and protected place just how in God's name did he get inside.
Now the next question is... Is he dead or alive?
I had no contact with him the past hours, his place had no signal so it was almost impossible to have him answer the phone.
The vault was strict and possibly would take several hours to have it open using technology but lucky me, I'm good with passwords.
I came closer to the electric panel just nearby the entrance of the storage before opening it with my bare hands. I caressed it before resting my hand on top.
My eyes glowed bright purple as soon as I gained access to the control of the central hub. Endless of numbers and codes went brushing into my head. With a few more seconds, I acquired its hidden cipher.
The huge door opened, and there I made eye level with Spider-Man, who was hanging upside down. He had a notebook and a pen in his hand, which possibly meant that he was trying to get out using units.
As soon as his Spider masked went on to view, I did not hesitate to flick his forehead. "What the hell were you thinking?!" I asked as he swung front to back.
"Ow!" He whined as he places a hand on his stung forehead while fixing himself back up. "M-Ms. (Y/N)! The thing is a bomb! We should get out of here!" He started signaling to me that we should leave the place immediately.
"Wait, do you mean it's not with you right now?!" I argued.
He swung to the truck, carrying me by the waist.
"Peter, answer me!—" I felt a hand slamming me down onto the roof of the car. Both Peter and I lied on top in a lying position while I glowered at him.
"Just so you know, I'm mad at you," I whispered as we passed the security guards, while also having our heads slumped down.
"I know." He answered with a sigh.
With my empathy powers, I detected Peter's feelings right now. With that being said, it was proof that he's worried about Ned. He was scared and I could say how disturbed he was.
˚✧˳✧˚
"You should've just gone for Ned, he has the glowy thing." He spoke as we continued to jump from car to car on a highway that requires 100-speed acceleration.
"Well, thanks to you and your little experiment, I couldn't track where the hell you were! Don't forget that you're a top priority for this stupid mission, Parker!" I complained back.
With the time moving fast, fear was slowly swallowing me alive. I couldn't help but feel troubled about what might have happened to those teenagers. "Maria, how many percentages do my rocket boots have?!"
"36% Ms. Stark." She answered obediently.
Fuck it. We need to get there fast.
I activated my boots as flames ignited from below. Once I felt myself being carried into the air, I dashed into Spider-Man's direction as I grabbed him by his arm.
"Ahhhh!!" He lets out a little scream from the sudden contact. He stopped once he saw that it was me who was carrying him.
"Oh, it's you." He said in relief.
"Climb on top!" I ordered, as he crawled up on my behind.
With the idea of him falling onto the road to die in a miserable death, he had his arms around my neck firmly but not enough for him to contradict my breathing.
"How the hell did you know that it was a bomb?" I questioned to him with a loud voice.
"I know! Karen told me!"
"Who the hell is Karen?!"
"The A.I in my suit that Ned enabled yesterday! He disabled the training wheels subsets!" He yelled back as the wind continued to fight us back off.
"You what?!"
"I know! I'm sorry!" He apologized.
"You not only removed the tracker! But you also disable the training wheels! Are you insane?!"
"I'm sorry!! Don't be mad! You're scary when you're mad!"
˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚✧ 🕷 ✧˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚
