AS MUCH AS I WANT TO PULL BACK PETER PARKER UP TO MY SLEEVES, I just can't. I did try, but no one gets in his way when it comes to his Spider work.
And I ain't no damn simp.
"Hey, (Y/N)!" Peter's voice speaks out as soon as I picked up the call.
Yeah, never mind.
The absence of Peter and Ned had come, so I really have no one to be around with at school at the moment, but who cares, we're gonna die in the end.
Have you guys ever considered dropping out? Cause if you drop out you never ever have to worry about deadlines because, well... You dropped out! Isn't that a good idea?
Well, yeah for me, heck yeah it is. I'm rich, I graduated high school when I was 12, and I could just pull a sugar daddy or something; Well, for starters, I don't need any man in my life. Stark only put me up to this to make me realize that 'friendship is magic' and all of that bullshit, while also keeping a close watch on the Spider.
"Peter," I called out sternly as I flipped another page from my book of unearthly things.
"So, uhm... Whatchu' up to, shawty?—Hehe." Peter has this sweet little giggle he does when he talks to me.
"Nothin' much papi," I answered back, acting playful, which came out unintentionally sexual.
"What? Am I supposed to call you 'good little girl' for that line, Ms. (Y/N)?" Peter snickered, forcing himself to sound confident when on the inside he was freaking out.
"I'm joking, you dork—Anyway—Where are you guys right now?" I questioned. Since Maria and my other gadgets are currently in the process of updating because of the lake incident, I couldn't keep track of Spider-Man.
"Well, still on the bus, 3 hours away from New York... I'm glad they still accepted me. Liz was actually glad to see me too! Well, of course, Flash wasn't too happy. Cindy kept asking about why I quit and I just avoided the question as always, you know?" He stated with a low whisper.
Peter has this habit of giving a whole autobiography of each day of his life, like I was his personal diary or something.
"Why did you call?" I questioned, crossing my arms and leaning on my locker as I flipped another page.
"No reason. Since Ned and I are here, I'm just—You know... Worried about you." He admitted, sounding very sincere with his words, like eating alone could be my worst nightmare.
"An hour hasn't passed yet and you miss me that much, Mr. Parker?" A mischievous smirk comes rolling to my lips while the boy in the call remained quiet.
It was silent for a few seconds before Peter could say something. "You should've come... They wanted an extra replacement for Flash." He said with his tone suddenly becoming serious.
Yesterday, he begged that I should come so we could go on to that evil lair that we were talking about, but I'm in the queue with the timeout that Tony gave. Well, I just know he's whoop my ass when he comes back.
"Peter. I'm not that smart. And besides that, I'm the potential disaster for the team."
"(Y/N). You're at the top of every class—Well, that's not the point... I'm just... I wanted to go with you on that evil lair."
"Yeah, right, Peter." I answered back. It should be me who should be stopping Peter from doing this hero thing; That's why Stark put me here in the first place. But I just don't know what's stopping me.
"Happy also called me and asked why I was leaving New York."
Right. Happy also has his eyes on Peter, and not just me.
"Hey, listen... When I get back, can I like... Take you to this pizza place in Queens. They kinda have a discount thing for couples."
"Woah, slow down, Parker. We're not dating." I joked.
"W-Well, it's nothing like that! I mean, anything for a discount, right?" He responded. Our call was disturbed by another female voice in his sideline. "Hey, Peter. You still with us?" Liz's voice was heard through the speaker.
"U-Um! Yes! Just a sec—I'll... See you in a couple of days, Ms (Y/N)." Peter says sadly, ending the sentence with a deep breath.
"See you, Peter."

Now with the quick setup practice for their decathlon battle, Peter had this available time to gather his thoughts.
"Dude. You've been staring at the window like you're in a movie for a whole hour." Ned spoke, tapping on Peter's shoulder, who seemed lost as he stared onto the road and cars along the way.
Peter cleared his throat before backing off the sides and adjusting his sitting position. "You good?" Ned followed up, sounding worried.
"Yeah, man, of course. It's just that, you know—(Y/N)."
"Pft. Here you are again with (Y/N)."
"Huh? what do you mean?"
"Dude. Not to sound like a cheesy ass guy but you literally just get lost when you stare at her, and you like, talk about her 24/7." Ned replied boredly as he raises a brow.
"Like you just literally drool when it comes to her."
"No, I don't." Peter suddenly started acting defensively while his best friend pulls out his phone.
Ned opens their SMS text messages and suddenly started reading aloud Peter's messages. "'Hey, Ned. I'm hanging out with (Y/N) today, should I wear a blue or red shirt?' and listen to this 'Ned, what kind of perfume do girls pre—"
"Alright, I get it!" Peter got tense as he tried to reach for his best friend's phones.
"And this one is a winner. 'Do you think (Y/N) watches Star Wars?—'"
"Shhhh! Liz will hear you!" Peter cringed at himself for saying that. He realized how much of a dork he really is. With his upstanding personality, he didn't wanna make things complicated; He settled for Liz and knew that (Y/N) was totally out of his league.
Ned stared at him, looking as if what he just said was hard to swallow. "Dude. Make up your mind."
"What—What do you mean, make up my mind?"
"You guys are like flirting all the time. That phone call you just had with her is literally screaming sexual tension."
"We're not flirting." Peter justified calmly, as if saying those words were hard to pronounce.
"If that wasn't flirting, then James Charles must be straight," Ned replied as he reaches for his earphone inside his pockets, ending the conversation with Peter, remaining to have troubles with what he really feels.
"She's just a friend... Yeah, just a friend." Peter whispered to himself.

(Y/N) (L/N)
I can't believe I'm going to say this, but my life really is boring without those two idiots.
A day has passed and I have never felt this lonely before.
I felt so lonely that I came back to the Stark resident just to find Pepper and Dad, not around the place, which was a disappointment for me since for the first time in years I was looking forward to seeing Tony.
Besides that, I needed my equipment fixed in the lab; I should take the opportunity to tag and vandalize the place or something, that'd be fun.
"Ouch! Piece of shayt, " I cursed, as I got burned from the soldering iron I was holding.
It was late at night, and I couldn't sleep because I was worried about Peter. I should've just stopped him from coming to that trip. Especially when Liz is there... Shit, what the hell am I even saying?
I jumped a bit when I heard my phone ring. As soon as Peter's face came flashing through the screen, I waited for a few seconds to answer so it would seem like I wasn't excited about it or anything.
I yawned fakely and acted tired since I don't want him to know what I was doing at this hour. "Hey, Pete."
"Hey," Peter answered back with an exhausted and husky tone.
"You sound tired. Are you alright?" I asked, putting my phone on my shoulder and locking it with the side of my face to refrain it from falling.
"Y-Yeah, how's your night doing?" Peter sounded like he just needed someone to talk to. And by the way he spoke, he's dealing with something right now.
"It's okay, I was trying to make myself sleepy... Why'd you call?"
"I don't know. I just felt like I wanted to hear your voice." Peter revealed with a raspy voice.
My heart went boom with that statement. The rough-whiny voice and those words... Lord have mercy.
Peter's breathing became heavy through the speaker as brief silence occupied the quiet set.
"Are you getting ready for bed?" I finally spoke, trying to play it cool.
"Well, yeah, no... Maybe? I guess so." Peter is literally the kind of guy who doesn't give a straight answer.
"Wow, Peter. Make up your mind... So, how's everybody doing?"
"Got out and found everyone sneaking into the pool." He stated with his hoarse-like voice. The way he sounds right now could send tingles on any girl's neck. "Don't worry. I didn't go. I'd rather have a little chat with you at the moment, to be honest haha..." He giggled with a tone that ended sharply.
You know what? Someone just has to say it.
"This is literally out of context for me but your voice is literally 10 times attractive in a phone call." I disclosed boldly, making an attempt to make it sound like a friendly compliment.
But with the silent treatment that he responded, made me swallow in shame and repentant. "A-Anyway, about the—"
"To put it into simple words, my voice is hot on calls?" Peter caught me off as he gives a soft little laugh at the end.
"Well, y-yeah—I mean, no! That's ridiculous, Peter." I scoffed while I could hear him laughing with his phone apart from his. "Jesus, we sound like those cringey couples at school now huh?" I chuckled remembering that time I overheard a conversation of the weird lovers.
'But whenever I see you... And you act like a 'baka'--It will never not be funny.'
"Haha, yeah... I'm heading out to the lair by the way." He changes the subject with a clear of the throat.
My anxious mind made up stories and terrible events that might happen to Peter. I can't help but feel fret about it. Despite him being perfectly muscular and the brawny man that he is, it's making me unease.
"I think you shouldn't go, Peter," I muttered, slumping down my back at my chair.
"Huh? Why?"
"It's not safe. And if Tony—I mean Nick Fury finds out you're dead, I'm dead too just so you know." I said as I felt a lump in my throat.
"Wait, so this about you worrying about your job?"
"What? No, of course not. I'm just... I'm worried, Peter. Of course, I don't want you to be killed... And I certainly don't want you to die a horrible death." If there was one thing that I could name that I'm not; It' being sincere, but in this case, I was full-time serious about him and that lair he was going into.
"I'll be stealthy... It's not like I'm gonna die, Ms. (Y/N)." Peter reassured me to calm me down. "Peter. You're fighting bad guys, I'm pretty sure there's a chance you might... Just... Stay safe, you doofus."
"Of course... And by the way."
"What is it?"
"I like your voice too."
No one spoke between those passing seconds. I needed to take a break by hearing those words.
"Go to bed... Doofus." Peter addresses.
END CALL.
