~First Person~
The boy waited a few moments before giving him an order. "Sebastian, this is an order: Do not let her tell anyone about you." The butler smirked and placed a hand in his chest and bowed his head, "Yes, My Lord. And should she refuse?" The Earl sighed, "What do you think? Convince her. I don't care what you do. Just don't kill her. At least not yet." Sebastian nodded and then walked to the open door and disappeared from sight.
~Hannah's POV~
I didn't know how far I had ran into the woods when I slowed down and rested on a fallen tree. When I looked back I could no longer see the manor, I felt I could not run any further. A few moments of silents was broken by the sound of crunching leaves. I gasped and covered my mouth and hid behind a tree. I crouched down and prayed that I wouldn't be discovered. I heard a dark laugh echo around me. "You've always aggravated me, Hannah. The way you hide your soul. But that doesn't mean anything. I can't still smell your perfume from kilometers away." He said and chuckled. He sounded close.
I could hear if footsteps grow louder and louder. I gripped the hem of my skirt tight and closed my eyes. After a few moments noticed that I couldn't hear his footsteps anymore. I didn't hear anything. I built up the courage to look. I turn my head slowly. I stood up and looked around the tree. I didn't see him anywhere and felt a sense of relief.
Just as I was about to turn and start running again when a gloved hand covered my mouth and pulled me back. Instantly after I felt a hand wrap tightly around my waist. I screamed as loud as I could and my eyes watered. He chuckled darkly in my ear, "Found you." I thrashed about and clawed at his arms and hands. He didn't budge at all. I gripped his hand that covered my mouth and tugged on it a few times before giving up. "Relax. I'm not going to kill you." He removed his hand shortly after. "Like I would believe you!" I spat back at him.
He sighed, "I suppose you're right. Why would anyone believe a monster like me?" He said, even though he was obviously enjoying himself. "If you're not going to kill me then what are going to do?" I asked quietly. "I'm not quite sure. I was thinking about making you a maid." He used his free hand to lift my face towards his. My face turned slightly red. He was too close! "I thought you would make a cute maid." He said looking into my eyes. My face turned tomato red and I shoved his hand away from my face. "Shut up! Stop speaking such empty lies!" I yelled.
He sighed, "Fine. Then let's make a deal." He let me go completely. It was so unexpected that I fell to the ground. Looking up at him, he extended his hand. "Come work at the manor, and we will work on finding out what you are and where you came from." I forwarded my eyebrows and tried to act like I didn't know what he meant. "You know very well what I talk about. You have no memory of your years before you were 16, correct?" He says tilting his head. I clenched my fists, "What would you know?" I said staring at him. He just smirked, "Well, your American accent helps quite a lot." I stared at him for a while, then huffed, "Fine." and took his hand. "It's a deal." He smiled and helped me up. "Excellent." His voice ringed with satisfaction.
After that, he led me back to the manor. Ciel agreed to the deal we had made. I moved that little things I had out of my apartment and moved them into the room I shared with Mey-Rin. All the while, I couldn't help but feel excited to find out where I really came from. Sebastian said I was from America but why was I here and not there? Did I even have a family? Did they not want me? Was I here to find work? My head was spinning, and I couldn't get my mind off it. Truth is, I was a little scared.
A day after I officially became a Phantomhive maid, Sebastian approached me. "Wonderful news: the Young Master has granted us permission to ask around about you tomorrow." He said with his usual glowing smile. "Oh. That's good news." I said. "First things first, what do you remember from your childhood?" He said looking at me. What do I remember? "Well... Only a few things about me showing off my so called 'talent'." Truth is, I don't think many appreciated it. I remember many disgusted faces. I frowned and looked down. "Is everything alright?" I nodded, "I'm fine." and walked away.
'I don't think this is going to be a very fun adventure...' I thought to myself as I walked away, leaving Sebastian standing there alone.
~Sebastian's POV~
I watched her as she walked away. I thought for a moment. In most likely hood, she was probably shunned for her practices and came to England to escape. Although, her practices are probably not widely accepted here either. This is quite the puzzle indeed.
