Christy

I abruptly woke up the next day to a loud meow along with paws on my face.

" Ugh... go away, Meow..." I grumbled, my hand moving lazily to go brush the cat off. He meowed again, laying down and pawing at my face. " Gold.. please.. I need to sleep..." I sighed as Gold didn't stop. I opened my eyes, glaring at the black and white cat, " What do you want?"he gave a meow, jumping onto the bed. I blinked, rubbing my eyes, " What time is it..?" I turned on my phone, " It's 7:30..." I mumbled, still half asleep.

' Um.. wait.. '

" 7:30?!" I gave a yelp, jumping straight off the bed and running over to the closet, " I'M GOING TO BE LATE!!!" I burst out of my room, having finished brushing my teeth and was still putting on my jacket. I grabbed a piece of fruit from the fridge before dashing for the door, " BYE!" I yelled as I ran past my mom and out the door. I snagged by backpack, flinging it over my back.

' Go go go go go!!!' I thought, rushing down the side walk

' There's a faster way..' the voice whispered, ' You could take that way, if you choose..'

' what way?'

' Close your eyes..' I followed the instructions and closed my eyes, I like I was tripping over something as I opened my eyes with a yelp. I tumbled forward, almost over myself. I opened my eyes again to see the back of the school building.

" H-huh..?" I stood there in complete confusion and shock.

' It's part of your abilities..' the voice whispered before fading away. I walked into the building through the back door.

" No lunch.. again..' I silently walked through the cafeteria, looking around. The black sketchbook tightly held against my chest as I heard a voice nearby. ' I'm always late to this..  and they don't have any left..'

" Hey!" I turned to a table where a group of girls sat.

" Hello." I greeted softly, sliding into a seat at the table.

" Hello, Christy." the girl next to me greeted cheerfully, Emily. Patricia looked up, earbuds in her ears. Mandy gave a wave from where she sat next to Emily. " You going to get anything to eat?" I shook my head quietly. 

" Hey." Patricia took one of her earbuds out. Mandy opened the book she had.

" So.. how's the drama going?" Mandy asked, starting to read.

" Eh..  Not well.." I sighed softly.

" Oh?" Emily turned around. " What's wrong with the play? Did you not get the part you wanted?" Patricia looked up slightly, sitting next to me.

" Not the play, Emily." Mandy spoke, her eyes flickered with interest. " Oh, tell us.. if you don't mind."

" Well.. um, the adoption thing's turned into a full on family feud.." I started, giving a sigh, " And on top of that I.." I trailed off as I heard my phone buzz.

Kitsune has sent a message

Kitsune: Hello are you online, Moonfang?

Moonfang: Yeah I'm here

Kitsune: Oh.. I see. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Kitsune.

Moonfang: Nice to meet you, Kitsune. I'm Moonfang.

" Who are you talking to?" Emily asked, prompting me to put my phone down. She had a faint smile on her face.

" A friend?" Mandy looked up, closing the book.

" Come on, spill it, Christy." Emily pressured, " who is it?"

" It's.. a friend.." I responded softly.

" Just a friend?" Patricia pulled an earbud out, looking at me.

" Yeah, nothing special.." I responded, glancing at my phone.

Kitsune has sent 2 messages..

Kitsune: so.. Are doing something right now?

Kitsune: .. If you're not.. can we talk?

Moonfang: Sure we can. I'm not really doing much, since I finished all the classwork.

" Just a friend? Unlikely." I jumped as I heard someone speak from over my shoulder.

" H-he's just a friend!" I protested. Emily gave a look of suspicion. Patricia put her earbud back in. Mandy smile, standing behind me.

Kitsune has sent 3 messages...

Kitsune: Alright, so you're in class right now?

Kitsune: Hello? Moonfang?

Kitsune: You're probably busy..

I glared at my friends. " Stop, please.." I held the phone close to me, " You don't need to know who I'm talking to.." I scooted back in my seat, slightly uncomfortable. They waited for a response.

" Hey, girls." Vix's voice greeted cheerfully behind me, causing me to jump slightly. The girls immediately stopped leaning forward.

" Hey, Vixen." Emily greeted. Mandy gave a wave, diving her nose back into her book. Patricia greeted with a wave, looking away.

" Mind if I borrow Christy for a second?" Vix asked, tapping my shoulder.

" Sure" Emily shrugged. Patricia didn't answer. Mandy continued to read.

" Alright thanks." Vix gave a smile before grabbing my hand in and leading me away. I grabbed my stuff, the sketchbook still held close to my chest." Come then, Christy. Let's go." The smile on her face remained as she lead me away from the group. Once we were out of sight, her grip grew harsh as she started dragging me out of the cafeteria. The smile on her face vanished, replaced with a slight frown. She made her way over to the auditorium area, ducking under a small area that was hidden from sight. She dragged me in behind her. " Alright, Vienna.. she's here."

" Thanks, Vixen." Vienna had her back against the wall, her dark brown eyes watched me, almost calculating and calm. " Christina.." her voice spoke almost calmly and in a soothing manor, " How are you alright with them talking to you like that?"

" What do you mean..?" I asked softly, my voice edge with nervousness.

" How they treat you." Vix growled, pointing in the direction of the cafeteria. " Don't you feel uncomfortable when they ask you and push you to answer their questions like that?" her dark brown eyes held hint of worry laced with anger, " Honestly, Christy, you should really tell them that you don't want to share with them.

" It's fine.. they're just curious.." I responded.

" Being curious and pushing one's nose into another's business are two different things.. There's a fine line between the two of them." Vienna sighed, " Yes, they aren't pushing their nose into your business, but they are teetering on the very edge of it. If not stopped, then they will go over the line and continue to push the boundaries." 

" Guys.. I'm fine.. really." I gave a soft smile, "It's human nature to be curious. I'll stop them if they go too far." Vienna gave a a look of pity and sadness.

" you know, Christina.. You're too kind. Someone's going to take advantage of that." she sighed, giving a sad smile. Vix looked away.

" Just let me deal with them.." she muttered, her eyes developing a faint crimson color.

" Vixen. Just calm down for a second." Vienna spoke to quickly. " I'm sure things will sort themselves out.." after a couple of seconds, Vix tensed and closed her eyes. When she reopened them, they were a dark brown.

' It's probably the lighting.. or my imagination." I thought, looking away. 

" You should get going, Christina." Vienna spoke softly, " Vixen, you as well. Classes will begin soon. I'll see you tommorow. There's isn't play practice today." she trailed out with Vix.

' that's odd..' I tilted my head to the side, ' They look as if they are still communicating..' I shrugged it off as my imagination and walked off towards the stairs to head to my next class.

Moonfang: Alright, I'm out of school.

Kitsune: That's good, hopefully you don't have too much to do..

Moonfang: I don't. I finished most of it during school hours since I had extra time.

Hydra Dragon has sent a message..

Hydra Dragon: Hello? Moonfang? Could we talk? 

I blinked, giving a sigh. I started to text both Kitsune and Hydra Dragon, ' Hopefully I won't get flooded with notifications..' I thought.

Moonfang: I'm here. What do you want to talk about?

Hydra Dragon: Just chat in general, I want to get to know you better.

Kitsune has sent a message..

Kitsune: Hey, Moonfang. Do you have a favorite animal?

Moonfang: Yeah, I do. A fox.

Kitsune: That's nice. Mine's a wolf.

Hydra Dragon has sent a message..

Hydra Dragon: So.. Your favorite activity? 

Moonfang: Leisure activity? I like too draw and listen to music.

Hydra Dragon: Do you sing?

Moonfang: Um.. Kind of? Don't think I'm any good at it..

Hydra Dragon: I'm sure you're a wonderful singer.

Moonfang: Thanks..

Kitsune has sent a message..

Kitsune: Do you like video games?

Moonfang: To be honest, I've never played them before..

Kitsune: You should try them, they're fun.

Moonfang: Okay, I'll put that on my to-do list. 

Hydra Dragon has sent a message

Hydra Dragon: So.. Moonfang, do you have a particular song or artist you like?

Moonfang: Hm.. I have a favorite artist, several of them. My favorite song is always changing. 

Hydra Dragon: Who's the artist?

Moonfang: Her name's Blixemi. I'm also a fan of OR3O and Caleb Hyles

Hydra Dragon: Nice choice.. I know those artists. They're all pretty popular right now on YouTube.

Moonfang: Yeah, they are.

I looked up as the door bell rang. I got up to go check who it was. The sun was setting by now.. so it was rare for me to have a visitor at this hour. I walked to the front door, grabbing a small bag with essentials to see no one there.

" Hello..?" I called out as I opened the door slightly. I walked out a little bit more, looking around. " Anyone out there?" I heard something being drawn behind me as I walked out of the house. I tensed, feeling something being pressed to my back.

" Don't move, Fox.." a voice hissed.

" F-Fox..?" I stammered, what was going on?!

" You're coming with us.. don't disobey unless you wan-" the voice got abruptly cut off. I turned around slightly only to get a knife pressed at my neck.

" One step further and she dies!" a harsh voice yelled.

" Release her." A female voice growled, a pair of dark red eyes flickered into view, seemingly glowing.

' Grab his arm..'

' Huh?' I thought, ' why?'

' just grab his wrist.. trust me.. be quick.' I hesitated before reaching out my hand in a quick movement and grabbing the man's wrist. ' Twist it counter clockwise..' I tightened my grip before twisting with a surprising amount of strength. The man gave a shriek, the knife dropping from his hand. ' Now's your chance go!' I released his hand before leaping back. I backed away from the man.

" Come on!" A voice yelled as a black wolf bounded you next to me.

" Let's go.." a second voice spoke, more calmly as a leopard bounded up from the other side. I continued to run as the two animals bounded ahead.

" Beware of the others.."

" Right-" the wolf looked up, her dark red eyes flashed, " Christy! Watch out!" the wolf turned around as a sharp object slammed into my neck. I stumbled to the side.

' W-what's happening..?' I thought before collapsing to the ground, a strong sense of sleepiness descending on me.

" Oh great.." a voice spoke, sounding familiar.

" We need to get her out of here.." another voice muttered, also familiar.

" V-Vix..?" I mumbled, every word that I spoke, numbness creeping over me.

" Shh.." the other voice spoke soothingly, " Don't speak, it'll only hurt more.." I felt a pair of hands pick me up, starting to carry me away.

" Don't worry, Christy..  you're safe with us.." Vix's voice spoke softly as the world faded to black.
