Chapter 2

The six demigods stared at him blankly. "Um, hi there. Well, uh..." Percy was obviously too bewildered to say much more. "Wait a second, Heracles?"

"Finally! You recognize me!"

Percy still stared blankly at him and started inching the groups way around Heracles. "Uh... Okay then. If you'll just let us through here, we need to get to town." He jabbed his thumb behind him to the town. Apparently Heracles didn't like that idea.

"First, I am going to need to see your forearms. All of you," he said, looking pointedly at the other demigods. Percy looked hesitant, and was about to open his mouth to question Heracles when the son of Zeus grabbed Percy's left arm and roughly turned it over.

"This is why." Heracles grabbed some rope off the ground --when did that get there?-- and tried to grab Percy's other arm. Percy twisted his arm out of Heracles' grip and faced him. Uncapping Riptide, he raised the sword to Heracles. Heracles pulled out his sword as well and gasped as he saw that they held the same sword. "I am going to ask you all to come with me. We must go into town and speak to someone."

The group of demigods turned to Percy, who nodded before speaking. "We'll go with you on two terms. First, you agree not to hurt any of them," Percy motioned with his head to 5 of the 7. Heracles nodded. "Second, we wait for someone.

Heracles agreed and the group fell into silence. Jason wrapped his arm around Piper and whispered something in her ear.Piper smiled and nodded, then leaned up to kiss him. Leo coughed about 15 seconds later, and the couple broke apart blushing.

"So... Heracles?" Percy looked to the son of Zeus. "Why exactly do you need to take us into town? And why does my SPQR mark matter?"

Heracles stared at Percy like he just asked the stupidest question ever. "It proves that you serve in the legion, that you are a Roman." He said the word 'Roman' like it was the most disgusting thing on earth. Then he started mumbling something about 'stupid Romans' and 'stealing gods'.

Percy frowned. "Uh... Well, if it makes anything better, I'm not actually Roman."

Heracles paled. "How much longer before your friend comes?"

Leo turned around and saw Frank coming down the hill. "Here he comes." Heracles nodded as Frank approached.

"Come. We must hurry." The Seven followed Heracles and filled Frank in on what happened.

Frank looked relatively surprised. "Okay then. Well, while I was surveying, I found the town. We're definitely in Greece, just like your Dad said Percy. But it looks like a Renaissance fair or something."

Percy nodded as they walked into town. The townspeople were parting for Heracles and stared at the seven people trailing behind him curiously. Percy wrapped a protective arm around Annabeth and pulled her closer to him. "Any idea what's going on Wise Girl?" he muttered.

She shook her head. "I have a theory, but that's it. I don't think it would be possible anyway. She'd need Kronos' power, and since Luke killed him there's no way he'd have enough energy."

"Are you saying that Gaea sent us back in time Annabeth?" Piper asked, and received a nod in return.

"We're here," Heracles announced.

They were standing in front of what looked like a temple. It was regal. Tall white columns with specks of what looked like gold in them supported the roof. It looked almost... godlike. Heracles motioned for the demigods to walk in to which he got a rather hesitant response.

"Before we do anything, we need to contact someone," Annabeth explained when Heracles gave them a weird look.

"No one asked you, girl," Heracles sneered. "Now be a good little pet and shut up."

Annabeth tried to leap forward but was held back by Frank and Piper who was attempting to charmspeak her into calming down.

Heracles cowered back when Percy and Jason stepped forward. "Look here, pretty boy," Percy growled, glaring at Heracles only being restrained by Jason's grip on his shoulder. "If you ever speak to Annabeth like that again. I will not hesitate to beat you within an inch of your life. I don't care who you are. She has done so much more than you ever will, and if you don't let us contact who we need to, I will let her loose on you."

Leo shivered. "One time Annabeth almost went off on me. One of the scariest moments of my life. Probably number one would be when Percy and Annabeth fell-"

"That's enough Leo," Hazel interrupted, sending a warning look to him while he muttered an apology.

Heracles looked ready to run and cower behind a bush or something. He meekly nodded and the Seven turned on their heels to find a private spot.

"Oh Fleecy, do me a solid. Show me Chiron at Camp Half-Blood," Percy muttered, throwing a drachma into the mist he created.

An image appeared of Chiron, the camp, and the gods in the Mess Hall. Percy coughed. "Uh, Chiron?"

The centaur turned his head towards Percy and breathed a sigh of relief while the campers cheered. "Oh thank the gods you're safe." ("You're welcome!" Apollo yelled, earning a slap from Artemis.) "Where are you? Any clue?"

Annabeth waved and started to explain what happened with Heracles so far, the temple, and what Heracles said about the Romans.

All of a sudden Apollo was serious. "There had been a prophecy issued back when Greece was at war with Rome," he started before he was interrupted by Jason.

"All due respect Lord Apollo, but I thought Heracles was already made a god when Rome conquered Greece?"

Athena sighed. "That's what all the history books say. History, what actually happened, is very different. You'll see as you complete the prophecy what I mean."

"Guys! Woohoo! New prophecy! Do we need to kill someone again, or stop another war, or--""

"Hush, Leo Valdez," Apollo said cutting Leo off. "The prophecy went like this.

Seven half-bloods who had answered the call

The current that swept all of evils fall

Must prove themselves on the floor of battle

And begin to tighten the chains that rattle

Create peace between two lifelong foes

Daughter of love and wielder of the current go"

Leo whistled. "I don't know about you guys, but that seems like a really long and complicated prophecy to me."

Everyone laughed, said goodbye, and swiped through the I-M. Turning around to go back to the temple, they were met by a group of townspeople leveling swords at their throats.

"So, lovely weapons," Percy laughed nervously. "Or not..."
