Ida's POV

~ they say we got one life, one life to live
And when we grow up, we show love and give all we can give.

And as the days and nights go by ...~

It's 8:30 pm, and I was completing the literature homework while listening to 'Forever young.'

Soon enough, there was a knock on my door and Mom slipped into my room to remind, "Ida its almost going to be 9, be ready."

I closed my books as soon as the song ended and crawled up to my closet. Yes crawled. My legs had gone numb from sitting for so long.

I grabbed my comfy, plain and black-t-shirt along with my short Jeans and changed into them quickly.

Taking my phone, I headed downstairs to stuff some food into my mouth.

Not too long after Engine called to tell that she was waiting outside.

I informed my mom, "Mom, I am heading out and probably would be back by 11 or so, I'll take the keys with me, so you don't need to be bothered by staying awake till I'm back,"

I slid the phone into the front pocket and carefully chose the keys with the lightest and smallest key chain so that it would fit into my pocket and not give me the feeling that someone was pulling my jeans down.

Like seriously, my mother buys any key chain disregarding the fact of how big and heavy it is.

Once she even bought a cheap but pretty doll to hang in the car. But I have to mention, that the doll ended up in my room after a few days. Reason being the chain and the doll were star crossed lovers, never meant to be together.

While walking towards the front gate I found Engine sitting in a cab. I headed her way and jumped right into the cab and closed the door. she saw me safely enter into the cab and instructed the driver to take us to a twenty-five minutes faraway mall.

There was complete silence in the cab until the driver switched on the radio.

Engine and I looked at each other in the realization of the memories we had with the song.

We had even tried out a dance on it when we were kids. I chance upon the dance video on a random basis while trying to make space for my phone by deleting unnecessary items, and every time by the end of the video, I am out of breath due to the hard laughter I had watching us move our butts here and there.

We both broke into a chuckle, which simultaneously broke the silence we had between us.

She turned towards the window to look at the Night Sky.

"It's pretty... stunning," She spoke in astonishment.

The moment with the night sky had made me forget the past, present and the future, it's like it had absorbed me.

I actually like the idea that there are no streetlights on the road, the light coming from the car and the side houses was more than enough.

"so, you are not mad at me, anymore right?"
Angelin adds after a few moments of admiration.

when she asked that, all the things that had happened the entire day was brought back to me. Nevertheless, me thinking about it is
not going to change a thing.

Not that I wanted Engine to break up...It's just you know that feeling...

"I was never mad at you Engine," I assured her.
She must have been so tensed this whole time.

"I'm sorry ..." she felt guilty.

"Don't apologize, you did nothing wrong. It was something new ... and Et- ... "
she cuts in before I could finish

"Ethan of all people. I know he used to bully you in primary...but he changed...I'm sure he must have realized what he was doing was wrong.... right? just because he stopped bullying you is no excuse for his behavior. But I promise he's nice, please give him a second chance, " She pleads with apologetic eyes.

"Hey relax girl! I am not angry with him. Don't worry, we all were kids back then. Everything is in the past now. Just forget about it," I pat her head.

Angelin's POV

We walked towards the counter arm in arm to buy some popcorn for the movie .
I haven't told Ida about the movie we are going to watch..and she did not bother about asking either.
Besides I don't plan to tell her at all ...she'll find out eventually.

I looked around to check if Ethan and Aiden were here yet.

I muttered "they are not here yet"

Ida's eyes widened as she heard me .

"Who they?"

She was confused.

"Ethan and Aiden of course ...maybe your mum forgot to mention that part to you?"

Originally the plan was only for me and Ethan to watch the movie but he insisted that Ida tag along since I would get a chance to clear up whatever was going on between us. So then the plan became that the three of us along with Aiden would watch the movie.

Even though, we booked our seats in the previous row to Ida and Aiden's.

The movie was going to start in less than five minutes and the boys planned their entry just then.

I loosened my grip on Ida's arm and went to give a small kiss on Ethan's cheek.

Ida's POV

My heart skipped a beat when Engine told that Ethan and Aiden were coming to the movies.

I don't want this. I am so not ready for this.

If I knew I would have not agreed to come. Mom!!! How can you forget to tell such an important detail to me?

I'll just pretend that I am having a bad stomach and need to go to the washroom...and when they go inside the theatre, i'll take my chance.

Straighten up Ida. She's your best friend you can't bail on her.

Around five minutes before the movie started the guys were not here yet ... I was relieved thinking that they weren't going to come

that's my biggest mistake ...why did I think of this ...I jinxed it

the guys made their fashionably late entry on the scene.

"Hi there, Angel," Ethan looked at Engine and she left my embrace and went to Ethan's.

Traitor, you left me alone
Although I can't blame her...she is dating him...

Aiden follows behind and greets both of us.

Suddenly Engine pulls Ethan to her level and stands on her tiptoes to give him a kiss on the cheek.
This is a part of Engine that I have never seen, her confidence...I stare down at my hands with which I am trying to play to just avoid any eye contact .

Engine asks Ethan "do you want to buy any snacks?"

"Nah I'm fine, what about you Aidan?" Ethan replies and then asks, turning his head towards Aiden.

"I'm fine too, but I hope you'll share with me Ida ...won't you?" he looked at the popcorn in my possession.

"Yah sure" I smiled "Besides I don't think I'd finish it all by myself" I added.

We all headed inside the theatre and took our allotted seats.

I should have known that all four of us were not going to sit together- Angelin and Ethan sat together in the row in front of us ...by us, I mean Aiden and me.

The ads had just finished and now the title sequence was being presented.
I just realized that I never asked Angelin the name of the movie.
So I kept my eyes on the screen.
It said ...
