Everything turned out good. Well, that's what Taehyung thought.

He noticed that Jungkook avoided him for the past two days, not even sparing him a glance or two. He didn't accompany him going to school nor coming home.

It seemed that Jungkook was giving him the cold shoulders in return, but that only lasted for two days.

After that, surprisingly, everything turned to normal.

"Good morning."

Taehyung lifted his gaze, hearing the familiar voice of Jungkook. He saw him enter the dining room, smiling warmly at his mother who's busy setting up their breakfast.

"Oh. Kookie!" Tessa beamed, seeing the young man join them to breakfast after a while.

"I thought you're going to skip breakfast again." She said in a concerned voice.

Even though Taehyung was not telling her anything, she could sense that something happened between the two, which was why she hardly saw them together now.

Jungkook just smiled before planting a soft kiss on her cheek. He took his seat, eyes glancing over the brunette who quickly averted his gaze.

Taehyung felt awkward, not expecting Jungkook to speak to him.

"Good morning, Tae."

In a quick snap of the head, Taehyung looked at Jungkook with wide eyes. He saw the ravenette smile at him before he started eating.

Taehyung gulped, feeling a lump on his throat. He stared at his best friend, realizing how he badly missed his voice.

"G-good morning." Taehyung greeted back.

He set his eyes on his plate with a blush creeping on his cheeks.

"Hurry up and eat, you don't want us to be late right?" Jungkook uttered, seeing the brunet staring at his food.

Taehyung blinked at this, eyes now staring at the ravenette across him.

"Uhm.. yeah." He murmured before starting to finish off the food on his plate.

In a short while, the two were already rushing out of the house with their backpacks on their shoulders. They hurriedly rode on the train going to their school, together just like before.

Taehyung sat next to Jungkook, who's as silent as ever. He could feel the awkward atmosphere between them again.

The ride going to school was about 15 minutes. Taehyung endured and pushed away the awkward feeling in his chest as he looked at the person sitting next to him.

He saw Jungkook with his eyes closed, head leaning on the window with his arms across his chest. He looked like he's asleep, which gave Taehyung the chance to stare at him.

The brunet found himself staring at the way Jungkook's chest slowly rise and fall from his calm breathing, travelling up to his face. He could see his long lashes beautifully adorning his closed eyes, down to his cute pointy nose, and even lower to his lips.

Taehyung blushed, remembering the memories those lips bring to his mind. He shook his head, not wanting to go back there. He felt Jungkook stir before slowly opening his eyes.

The brunet quickly turned his gaze away from him, not wanting to be caught ogling.

From his peripheral vision, he could see Jungkook look at him for a short while before closing his eyes again.

"Wake me when we get there."

Taehyung heard him say in a low sleepy voice that sounded so sexy to his ears.

"S-sure."

------

Taehyung was sitting on his chair, his attention not really on the lecture their Literature professor was saying at the moment.

He had been out of it since he arrived. He stared outside the window with his hand on his chin when he felt something hit his head.

Instinctively, Taehyung turned his head with a glare, only to see Jimin grinning at him.

What?!

Taehyung mouthed angrily. He saw Jimin roll his eyes before pointing forward in an amused manner.

Look!

Taehyung confusedly grimaced at him, eyes following the direction where he's pointing.

It only dawned in him when he saw Jungkook sitting a couple of seats to his front with a girl next to him.

There wasn't anything wrong with it, well except for the fact that the girl is Ji-Eun.

If his memory served him right, she was Jungkook's long time crush.

Taehyung furrowed his brows when he saw Jungkook smile at whatever she was saying. He could see him say something in return that also made the girl giggle.

He doesn't realize he's been glaring when he felt another crumpled paper hit his cheek.

The brunet glared back to Jimin who's ducking down to hide from their professor as he mouthed something to him.

What's up with those two?

Taehyung shrugged his shoulders at his friend's question.

I don't know! Will you stop throwing shit at me?!

Taehyung mouthed back, feeling totally pissed right now. He angrily rested his chin on his hand, staring back outside.

He tried focusing on the purple flowers on the tree outside, but his mind just went back to Jungkook.

Were they that close before?

He knotted his forehead at the thought.

Taehyung and the others were fully aware that Jungkook has a thing for Ji-Eun during their first year.

Though he would constantly fuck around with the other girls, Jungkook didn't do anything to get Ji-Eun's attention.

Taehyung could remember when Namjoon asked Jungkook about it, and he just said that he likes Ji-Eun, but she's way out of his league.

Ji-Eun is a girl who's prim and proper. Her looks and figure are a ten, not to mention her grades are quite good too. She came from a rich family, which anyone could tell based on the way she talks and acts. She's far from those sluts whom Jungkook had fucked and played with before.

A total girlfriend material.

The brunet knew Jungkook liked her, but that was before.

Before Taehyung...

He snapped his head towards the direction of the two with his wide eyes.

Is he.. Is he doing this to spite me?

He stared at the ravenette's back for a long while.

Or is it his way of saying he finally accepted that the two of them could not be anything but friends?

----

"Damn! I'm so tired!" Jin groaned, lying on the field with his hand spread like a starfish.

Hoseok rushed towards him before lying next to him, using Jin's arm as his pillow.

"Me too." He groaned.

Taehyung shook his head at the sight. He walked towards the bench where Namjoon and the rest of the boys were resting, all too wasted and tired.

They had been practicing for an hour or two, right after their mind draining lecture in Statistics.

"Let's eat after this. I know this barbecue place near my area that has good reviews." Namjoon invited, making everyone agree.

"Barbecue!" Jimin beamed.

Just hearing the word make Taehyung's stomach growl in hunger.

"I'm in." He said. Everyone else agreed, well almost.

"I'm sorry. I think I'll pass."

Taehyung turned his gaze on the ravenette who's busy tying his shoe lace.

"You're not coming?" He muttered even before he could stop himself.

Jungkook looked at him, smiling apologetically.

"Sorry. I'll treat you guys next time." Jungkook uttered, quickly standing with his bag on his shoulder.

"That sucks. He's ditching us for a girl." Jimin teased, making the others laugh.

Jungkook scratched his head, his boyish grin on sight.

"You know that's not it. If you told me earlier that we're eating out, I wouldn't have made a promise to go out with her after practice." Jungkook defended, making the rest snicker.

"Lover boy is finally acting out, yeah?" Namjoon grinned.

"Thought she's not someone you'll play around with?" Jimin asked with a hint of humor.

Jungkook rolled his eyes, grinning from ear to ear.

"Who said I'm playing with her?"

The boys suddenly cheered on his remarks, finding it hard to believe. Even the quiet and serious Yoongi cheered on.

"Woah! That's some cringey shit!" Jin shouted, overhearing their conversation from where he's lying.

Both him and Hoseok rushed towards their direction, the latter quickly gripping his arm around Jungkook's neck.

"Damn boy, you're serious?" Hoseok asked in an amused tone.

Jungkook grinned, shrugging his shoulders.

"Who knows?" He said before taking his leave, heading towards the locker room with Hoseok still playfully choking him. The rest followed with their usual loud and teasing voices.

Taehyung on the other hand silently took his bag and followed them. He felt Jimin nudge him on his side, making him snap out of his thoughts.

"You good?" Jimin asked, noticing the sudden drop of his mood.

"Yeah." Taehyung smiled. "I'm just hungry." He added, walking ahead.

Jimin stared at Taehyung's back before gazing at Jungkook who's laughing with Hoseok. He shook his head a little, sighing and snickering to himself as he whispered.

"Fools."
