Epilogue

"Jungkookie~ wake up.."

His hand glided down the ravenette's bare chest, loving the feeling of his warm skin against his palms.

"Baby.. you're going to be late." Taehyung peppered kisses along Jungkook's jawline, feeling the latter's stubbles grazing his skin.

"Time to wake up, sleepyhead." He whispered, lips ended up on the ravenette's earlobe.

He playfully bit it, making Jungkook groan.

"Babe.." Jungkook uttered in a hoarse voice, hand immediately wrapping around the brunet.

His eyes were still closed as he nuzzled his head in between Taehyung's neck.

"5 more minutes." He whispered which made Taehyung chuckle.

"Fine." He agreed as he embraced Jungkook closer.

Old habits really die hard.

Jungkook is still the same even after 3 years of living together. It's still too difficult to wake him up in the morning.

"5 minutes and you have to be up, okay?" Taehyung reminded.

"Hmm.." Jungkook just hummed, nuzzling closer to the brunet who could only sigh in satisfaction.

"I don't want to go." Jungkook mumbled after a while.

"I'll miss you." He murmured once more as he embraced Taehyung even closer.

The latter giggled, burying his face on Jungkook's bare chest.

"It's only for a month, Jungkookie." He said, trying to hide the loneliness in his voice.

After graduation, Taehyung decided to pursue his love for art. He started a career as a painter while Jungkook continued his football career, extending to national scale.

He's now part of the South Korea National Football Team and will be representing the country in this year's FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar.

He'll be away for a month or so, and Taehyung would surely miss waking up next to him too.

"Can I just take you with me?" Jungkook pleaded, earning a laugh from Taehyung who couldn't help but pinch the ravenette's cheeks.

"Silly. You know you can't." He smiled, planting a chaste kiss on Jungkook's nose.

He heard him groan in protest like a child denied of something he eagerly wanted to have.

"But you have to promise you'll be there if we reach the finals." Jungkook stared at him in the eyes, waiting for his response.

Taehyung grinned, pressing his forehead against Jungkook's own.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world." He answered, planting a soft kiss on Jungkook's supple lips.

It was supposed to be just a peck, but Jungkook suddenly moved and hovered on top of him, making Taehyung shriek in laughter.

"Kookie!" He giggled, feeling Jungkook's knee nudging his thighs open.

The ravenette settled in between his legs, pressing himself to Taehyung who could only groan when he felt something hard rubbing on his stomach.

"Babe.." Taehyung breathed, seeing Jungkook's passion-filled eyes directed only to him.

He could only surrender himself when Jungkook began caressing his body as he kissed him with hunger and need.

As if silently making up for the coming month that they won't be by each other's side.

---------

Taehyung carefully placed his luggage in the trunk while his mother secured the lock of the house.

"Have your friends called already?" Tessa asked, approaching to the passenger's side.

"Yeah. They said to meet up at the airport." He answered as he opened the door to the driver's seat.

He couldn't hide his excitement as he started the car and drove away.

It's been a month since Taehyung had last seen Jungkook. Though they often video call each other, it's still inevitable for him to miss the latter.

He didn't miss even a single televised match of the ravenette and everytime he's up on his feet, feeling proud and elated whenever Jungkook would score a goal.

He can't wait to see him in person again and witness how he had led the team to the finals and hopefully win the much awaited World Cup.

The drive going to the airport felt like forever for Taehyung. He wants to board the plane and arrive where Jungkook is as soon as possible.

He was silently wishing for time to speed up when he heard his mother speak out of the blue.

"You should begin planning about the wedding once Jungkook comes back. I'm not getting any younger, you know. I want to walk you in the aisle while I'm still young and beautiful." Tessa said, making Taehyung hum.

He understands why his mother had been bugging him about marriage for a while now.

3 years of living together after graduation, yet they still haven't tied the knot.

Unlike their friends who have already been married for a year or two now.

The two of them haven't discussed about the wedding yet, not that Taehyung didn't attempt to do so, more like Jungkook was avoiding the topic.

He doesn't want to corner the ravenette and appear like he's rushing him.

"We will. When we're no longer preoccupied by a lot of things." He answered, focusing his eyes on the road.

He doesn't want to think of other things at the meantime. All he wanted was to see Jungkook and cheer for his success.

--------

"Baby!" Jungkook ran towards Taehyung in a flash, lifting him off the ground as he spins him around, hugging him so tight.

"Kookie!" Taehyung exclaimed, burying his face on the crevice of Jungkook's neck.

He felt like crying, finally feeling Jungkook's warmth against his own once more.

"I miss you, baby." Jungkook whispered, kissing him with fervor.

Taehyung responded with the same intensity, pouring a month of loneliness without Jungkook by his side.

They wouldn't have stopped if not for the coach's voice, calling out all the players in the team.

This made Jungkook groan as they pulled away from each other.

"I hate this.." Jungkook pouted, not wanting to let go of Taehyung.

The latter giggled as he placed a quick kiss on the ravenette's lips before jokingly pushing him away.

"Go now. The national team needs the ace to win." He winked, earning a laugh from Jungkook.

"Watch us win, baby." Jungkook answered, intertwining Taehyung's hand with his as he slowly pulled away.

He's walking away but not wanting to let go of his love's hand.

"Go." Taehyung giggled, finally releasing Jungkook's hand. He saw him walk a few more steps away but to his surprise, Jungkook came running back to him again, claiming his lips once more in a long and passionate kiss.

"I'll win for you, babe. I'll make you proud." Jungkook promised, making Taehyung smile.

"You don't even have to try. I'm already proud of you. Since the beginning till now.. and in our future days together." Taehyung whispered, cupping Jungkook's face.

"Just enjoy the game like you always do, baby." He added, kissing Jungkook's forehead.

"I'll be cheering for you." He promised which earned a warm smile from the ravenette.

"Always."

-------

The crowd were up their feet as the competition became tighter with the World Cup in the line.

The South Korea National Football Team is up against the powerhouse team from France.

It's already the second half and everyone is getting edgy with only a single point advantage for South Korea.

"Go Jungkook!" Taehyung shouted, seeing the ravenette running on the field with the ball.

He's been clinging to his mother who's also cheering with him.

They were holding their breaths when Jungkook almost scored another goal but missed.

"That's okay! You're doing great!"

Their five friends were all out in cheering for him too.

"His game has improved a lot. It's scary." Hoseok commented, sitting next to Taehyung.

"Yeah. No doubt he's the only one who was scouted by the national team among us." Jimin agreed.

Out of everyone in their university team, only Jungkook was able to continue his career as a professional football player.

Everyone changed tracks and pursued different jobs after graduation.

Jimin and Jin managed their family's business.

Namjoon became a professor.

Yoongi continued his passion for music and started producing songs alongside Hoseok.

They're living a happy and fulfilled life, all the while not forgetting about their friendship that only gets stronger as years go by.

The sound of the booming crowd made Taehyung's heart burst in indescribable emotion, seeing Jungkook now urgently trying to steal the ball from the oponent.

Time is of importance. They need to protect the lead to claim victory.

"Jungkook.." Taehyung couldn't help but clench his fist in anticipation.

The time is running out and the ball is on the opponent's side. All they have to do is to put their all in defending the goal.

"Please..." He's clutching his mother's arm so hard as the timer slowly ticks.

However, the forward of the opposing team was able to get away and kick the ball, aiming for the striker.

"No!"

This attempt was suddenly blocked by Jungkook, kicking the ball away from the goal which made the crowd go nuts.

"Fuck! Yes!" Tessa yelled, making Taehyung look at her with wide eyes.

This is the first time he's seeing his mother so pumped up like this, even cursing so loud.

Everyone was going wild as the buzzer suddenly erupted, finally signalling the end of the game.

"Oh my God! We won!" Taehyung screamed in delight, jumping in too much joy as his friends threw themselves to him in a group hug.

"Fucking yes!!!"

"We won!! Holy-"

In the middle of chaos and festivity, Taehyung saw Jungkook being mobbed by his team members. He's smiling so wide, looking so dashing and proud in the field.

The sight had Taehyung tearing up. He looked so happy that it melted his heart.

He wanted to run to him. Kiss him as if there's no tomorrow. Tell him he's so proud of him.

However, he couldn't.

The whole stadium turned into a festivity as the national team lined up in the middle of the field.

The coach was holding the trophy which symbolizes all the hard work of everyone in the team. He was holding a microphone to tell his speech.

"South Korea! This is for you!" The coach proudly declared, making the crowd go wild even more.

He started saying all the gratitude for the people who attended, but Taehyung could not focus on his speech. His eyes were fixated on the ravenette who's looking at the crowd, seemingly searching.

And Taehyung knows he's the one Jungkook's trying to find in the crowd.

He could only put all his attention to Jungkook when he saw the latter suddenly receiving the microphone from the coach.

"Go! Jungkook!" His friends cheered, which made Taehyung smile.

"Uhm.." Jungkook started, looking at the crowd.

"He's so fucking nervous." Hoseok laughed.

"First of all, I would like to thank everyone who cheered for us and even travel here just to show their support." Jungkook paused, glancing at his coach who smiled and encouraged him to go on.

"Uhm.. Before the game started, I talked to coach... and promised him that I'll do everything to win today." He said, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.

"In exchange.. I asked him this opportunity to finally fulfill a promise of mine..."

The crowd suddenly went silent when something began flashing on the LED screen.

"Oh my God! Taehyung!" Jimin exclaimed, eyes wide as he pointed at the pictures flashing on the screen accompanied by a song.

Forever can never be long enough for me
To feel like I've had long enough with you
Forget the world now, we won't let them see
But there's one thing left to do
Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way
Marry me
Today and every day
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
Say you will
Say you will

Taehyung couldn't believe his eyes. The pictures were all of him during the times he doesn't even know he's being photographed.

"Kim Taehyung...I know you're getting frustrated whenever I avoid a conversation about marriage. It's not because I don't want to marry you. The reason is far from that, believe me." Jungkook surveyed the crowd, looking for his love amongst thousands of people present there.

"Remember the day when I first asked for your hand?" Jungkook smiled, reminiscing that moment.

Taehyung felt like crying as he finally understands what Jungkook is trying to say.

His world seemed to quiet down with only Jungkook in it, standing in the middle with a smile that's only for him.

"I promised you that someday, I'll let the world know that you're mine." Jungkook looked down, feeling so shy as his team members started teasing and cheering for him.

"It may have taken a long while, but here I am, in front of millions of people... asking for your hand again."

"Jungkook.." Taehyung gasped as tears streamed down his eyes.

The people around turned to stare at him with looks of encouragement and support.

His tear-stained face was suddenly flashed on the screen, finally letting Jungkook see him.

"Will you marry me and be my always?" Jungkook asked as the crowd began cheering wildly.

"Oh my God! This is insane!" Jin uttered, clinging to Namjoon.

"I still feel so single." Hoseok cried.

Taehyung was a crying mess as he nodded his head. He rushed down from the bleachers, wanting nothing but to be embraced by his love.

He couldn't hear the crowd as he made his way to the field where Jungkook was also running towards him, meeting him halfway.

"Taehyung!" Jungkook welcomed him with a warn embrace as he threw himself in his arms.

"Jungkookie!" He was sobbing, feeling elated by everything Jungkook has done for him.

His happiness was beyond words as the ravenette cupped his face and asked him once more.

"Marry me, Taehyung." He whispered, thumb wiping the tears that cascaded on his now puffy eyes.

"Yes!" Taehyung answered, claiming Jungkook's lips in front of everyone, sealing his promise with a kiss.

He could hear the loud claps and cheers from the crowd, but nothing seemed to matter than Jungkook and the love he sees in those raven eyes.

"Taehyung, just like the inscription in our rings... I will love you... Always." He whispered, peppering soft kisses on Taehyung's face.

"I will too... Always." Taehyung responded with all his heart that will forever belong to no one but this man in front him.

Who would have thought that catching feelings for his best friend and risking it all would lead to something beautiful?

Something worth risking for.

--------

End.

Thank you for reading this book. 💜

Some of you might find it a bit rushed, but this is really the end for this book. It's supposed to have 10 chapters only but then I ended up adding more 😂

This is just a feel-good book, different from my other books (I know. I'm a drama queen 🤣)

Anyways, just wanted to show everyone that sometimes deciding to take risk will eventually become the best decision.

I love you roses 🌹

CF is now signing off. 💜

Your girl,

Rosie 🌹
