Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Nomu's were causing havoc all over the city. Cars were crashing against buildings, people screamed and ran away, terrified, and heroes were being sent to different places. It was complete chaos.

A dark look fell over Aizawa's gaze as he received the news from his fellow heroes. When his students noticed, they were instantly on high alert. Something wasn't right, that much was obvious. Judging by the way Aizawa's shoulders tensed and looked at his students, that must be the case.

It wasn't until an explosion could be seen through the windows that they figured out what it was.

"Aizawa-sensei!" Yaoyoruzu exclaimed from her spot. Everyone stood up abruptly from their seats, looking at their homeroom teacher.

"Put your hero costumes on, now!" Aizawa ordered, rushing out of the classroom. Nobody thought twice about it and immediately grabbed their suitcases, running towards the nearest bathroom. Everyone put on their costumes in record time and were rushing out of the school building to meet up with some of the pro heroes.

Their hearts raced as nerves racked their system. Students were being separated into different groups with different heroes. Everyone still awaited an explanation. What was going on?!

"Alright everyone, quiet down!" Present Mic yelled, gaining the frantic students' attention. "Nomus have breached different parts of the city. As you may have noticed, you're being separated into different groups. Whoever you're assigned with, you must follow their instructions!"

"Nomus?!" People screeched. Every muscle in Izuku's and Katsuki's bodies tensed. Their eyes were wide and it was as if they forgot how to breathe. They were expecting the League of Villains to act some time, but they didn't expect it to be that fast.

And if the League of Villains was making their move, that meant that All for One was with them as well.

The signs of a panic attack were already showing. Izuku's palms were sweaty and his body trembled in the slightest. His eyes darted over the rushing people, their bodies becoming a blur as he lost focus. He needed more time! He wasn't ready!

"Keep it together!" Katsuki hissed worriedly, smacking the back of Izuku's head. That seemed to snap Izuku back to reality, who looked at the blond with wide eyes. Katsuki instantly wanted to embrace him. He knew that they would most likely face the man that ruined Izuku's life, and honestly, he was scared.

Aizawa appeared before them, gazing down at them intently. "You two are coming with me."

Their teacher left no room for questions as he placed his goggles over his eyes and rushed away. Izuku took a deep breath, pushing his anxiousness aside and rushing after him. Katsuki kept a close eye on him, following behind the two and keeping his guard up.

"Do not attempt to go after the Nomus. From the information I've gathered, these are some of their weakest ones. But even so, don't you dare go near them. Understood?!" Aizawa ordered.

"Yes," the two teens agreed.

"Focus on the citizens and get as many people as you can to safety. Stick close, and if you find any member of the League, notify it immediately."

An explosion to their left caught their attention, and they immediately jumped out of the way as a big chunk of concrete flew their way. Screams filled their ears as people rushed out of the crumbling building. Izuku and Katsuki acted quickly, getting inside the building through a hole in the wall and following the screaming.

They came across an elderly couple that were sheltering themselves under a mahogany table, arms over their heads and eyes shut tight. Izuku immediately went to their aid, offering them a warm smile when they opened their eyes. "My name is Deku, and I'm here to get you to safety. There's no need to be afraid."

The couple recognized him and smiled in relief, accepting his outstretched hands. Katsuki moved pieces of fallen furniture to make a path for them, ushering them forward. "This place will collapse any time now, get your asses out of here!"

Using his quirk, Izuku ran at a considerable speed out of the building as to not startle the couple. The floor began shaking as the walls cracked and pieces of concrete fell to the ground around them. Katsuki's explosions could be heard not too far behind him as he boosted up his speed and successfully went through the hole they had got in through.

The elderly couple were shaking as the building completely fell to the ground. Izuku shielded them from the big gush of dust that approached them quickly, not once looking back. The two teens managed to get to where some paramedics were tending to injured people, slowly letting go of the couple who smiled at them. "Thank you so much for your service!"

"You're very welcome," Izuku smiled. Katsuki tugged on his arm, pulling him off to a different place. The greenette looked at him with furrowed brows, feeling uneasy. "Kacchan?"

"Hm?" Katsuki hummed.

"You're strangely quiet," Izuku noted.

"And you're strangely calm," Katsuki retorted, looking at Izuku with a frown. The greenette furrowed his brows at him as they rushed to another crumbling building. He had to be calm at situations like this, so of course he tried his best to stay calm.

Sirens blared and buildings crumbled around them as they continued to get more citizens to safety. Their bodies were coated in sweat under their costumes, which was an advantage to Katsuki considering the chilly air. It allowed him to use his quirk with ease, something that he struggled to do with the annoying cold weather.

So far, they hadn't encountered any member of the LOV and/or-thankfully-any Nomu. From the intel they had gathered, pro heroes Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, Midnight, and Mt. Lady were taking care of the few that were creating the havoc. Everything was running smoothly, which should've been considered a good thing. But it wasn't.

It had Izuku on edge, trying to figure out what their plan was. It was beyond strange that a villain hadn't made an appearance. He had an incredibly bad feeling at the pit of his stomach that he could not get rid of. Even as he offered his bright smile to those that were injured or scared, he was extremely anxious on the inside.

A scream for help caught his attention as he and Katsuki lifted up a piece of concrete to let a trapped citizen out. Izuku's head whipped to the way it came from, giving Katsuki an alerted gaze right after. The blond managed to lift the man up and throw him over his shoulder, giving Izuku a nod. "I've got this one, you go on ahead."

Izuku didn't think twice about it and dashed away with the use of his quirk. The screams grew louder the faster he approached the building, heart pumping with adrenaline. He quickly jumped inside what seemed to be some sort of abandoned factory. His eyes scanned the partially dark place as his feet moved impatiently.

"Somebody, please help!" A familiar voice sobbed. His eyes widened as he ran to where the voice came from, only to stop dead in his tracks. Suddenly, he couldn't breathe. Every muscle in his body tensed at the scenery that was showcased right before his eyes.

"Well look who finally decided to show up," Dabi smirked as he held a struggling Jiro. One of his hands was wrapped around her throat, a sinister smile on his face. Jiro had tears running down her face, eyes wide with horror and despair. Nothing ever seemed to shake the girl, so for her to be in such a state was extremely alarming.

Izuku didn't move from his position, eyes scanning the rest of the rusty room. His breath got stuck on his throat as he noticed Uraraka and Kaminari both laying on the ground unconscious. Not only that, but his eyes caught sight of Toga, who was smiling excitedly at him.

"My beloved Izuku~ I've missed you so much!" Toga giggled affectionately. Her words shook him out of his initial shock, shoulders squaring defensively and glaring at the two of them.

"Let her go right this instant," Izuku seethed, lips tugging down in an angry scowl. Static was heard from his earpiece, which meant someone was trying to communicate. He moved his hand to check it out, but Dabi activated his quirk with his free hand, catching his attention.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Dabi warned. Jiro whimpered and tried to squirm away from the flames, but it was to no use. They burned with their unusual bright blue color which, oddly enough, matched his piercing blue eyes.

The static in his ear continued, but he lowered his hand as he studied his surroundings. Someone-or something-must have been causing some interference with the signal, making it impossible to ask for help. He needed to think of a plan, and fast.

"What is it that you want?" Izuku glared, balling up his fists by his side. Dabi smirked, looking over Izuku's head and giving a short nod.

"Setting up a bait to get you was quite easy," a raspy voice mocked, making him tense up. "Have someone scream for help and you'll rush right away."

Izuku turned up abruptly, gazing up to the reincarnation of the devil himself. The breath caught up in his throat as he noticed just how tall the man was compared to him. Half of his face was covered by the ventilator, the other bare half barely visible in the dimly lit room. The only source of light being Dabi's flames.

"You," Izuku whispered, fists trembling. All for One smirked down at him, taking a step forward, making Izuku take a step backward.

"That is not a way to greet your dad, Izuku," Hisashi sneered, crouching down to have the greenete look straight at his skin covered eye sockets. "I must say, I'm impressed by your...quirk."

Izuku tried to control his breathing, containing an upcoming panic attack. He was most definitely not ready to face All for One just yet. Neither physically or mentally. His anxious state pleased Hisashi deeply, boasting on the fact that the bearer of One for All feared him.

"Get rid of the hostages, we've got the main prey," All for One ordered in a low tone. Dabi rolled his eyes, deactivating his quirk and knocking Jiro out unconscious. Izuku breathed heavily, flustered and helpless. He couldn't communicate with anyone, and he couldn't risk hurting any of his friends if he tried to fight them.

"Please don't try anything, Izuku," Toga suddenly whispered next to his ear with a pout. "I would hate for you to get hurt."

Izuku turned to glare at her, waiting for her and Dabi to disappear in the shadows with his friends. He so desperately wanted to rush to them and get them off their hands, but he knew that would only make things worse. Never had he ever felt so hopeless as he did now. What kind of hero was he?

"What do you want?" Izuku growled, feeling more at ease now that his friends weren't nearby. He prayed to All Might that Dabi and Toga would not harm them in any way.

"I think it is pretty obvious, Deku," All for One said nonchalantly. "Never would I have thought that my own, disappointing son, would turn out to be my biggest threat."

Green sparks colored Izuku's body and he stood in a fighting stance, already charging up his quirk. All for One was not at all phased, instead kept on talking. "It is foolish to try on fighting against me. You're weak. You and all the bearers of One for All."

Izuku didn't think twice about throwing a punch. Although, to Hisashi's surprise, it wasn't directed at him. Instead, the powerful wind went straight to the roof, breaking whatever was left of it and sending debris everywhere around them. Izuku used the distraction to send a 'smash' at All for One while also avoiding any piece of falling concrete.

Shockingly enough, Izuku managed to land the punch, knocking All for One to the ground momentarily. Activating blackwhip, he used the tendrils to grab onto one of Hisashi's legs and throw him against one of the few standing walls. If his first punch didn't alert anyone around them, then the sound of the crumbling building surely did.

Katsuki was desperately looking around for Izuku, attempting to communicate with him through the earpiece, but to no use. All the Nomus have been taken care of and the rescue team was dealing with any injured person. Everyone else was safe, except for Izuku.

"God dammit, where is he?!" Katsuki shouted, using his quirk to propel himself in mid-air. It had been at least half an hour since the greenette had rushed to tend to whoever was in danger. He should've been back already!

"I'm sure he is fine," Todoroki said, keeping up with him with his ice. All Might and Aizawa were also with them, a bad feeling creeping up upon them.

"It is unlike Midoriya to vanish just like that. He would try to communicate in some way," Aizawa pointed out. "Pay attention to everything around you, there might be a clue around or something."

That's when they saw it.

The massive gush of wind that sent debris flying a few kilometers ahead of them. The distant sound of a crumbling building and something smashing against something hard. It had to be him!

"Izuku!" Katsuki shouted, amplifying his blasts in an attempt to reach the building faster. His attempt was in vain, as his quirk suddenly stopped working and he began falling to the ground. Had it not been for Aizawa's scarf, he would've fallen face first on the road.

He was ready to shout beautiful words at his teacher, but Aizawa glared at him menacingly. "Never rush in without knowing what dangers they might be. Stop being you for a second, and think!"

"He is obviously in danger!" Katsuki seethed, glaring daggers at Aizawa who just wouldn't blink. "We all know that the League of Villains is behind this shit show! You know what they want! And I ain't standing here and let him get fucking kidnapped!"

"None of us is strong enough to fight against All for One," All Might stepped in. "If Young Midoriya is in there with him, then us going in unexpectedly will put him at great risk."

"All for One?!" Todoroki exclaimed, eyes going wide like saucers.

"We need backup, and fast!" Aizawa said, looking at All Might. All Might gave him a nod, and began talking into his ear piece while also taking out his phone.

"So what?! We just wait for others heroes to show up?! Fuck no!" Katsuki shouted, ready to punch the living shit out of Aizawa. As much as he respected the man, he was beyond furious at this moment. "He could be fucking dead by the time they get here! It will be too fucking late!"

"Have faith in Midoriya," Aizawa glared down at him with a scowl. Finally, he blinked and deactivated his quirk, rubbing his eyes. "We will go save him, but we can't rush in. We would become a liability more that we would be of help."

Frustrated, Katsuki pulled at his hair as the loud noises continued. He could see Izuku's signature sparks flying around the open air, too fast for him to keep track. He looked back at Todoroki, who looked at him with a determined gaze. He, too, was against the idea of waiting for help.

So, the moment Aizawa began applying his eye drops, they bolted. They could hear Aizawa shouting at them, but they didn't care.

They were going to save Izuku.
