Chapter 18

Chapter 18

A sweet aroma filled the the room as Sato took out a carrot cake from the oven, making several people drool. Most of the class was huddled inside the common room, debating on what movie to watch for movie night. They couldn't decide whether to watch an action or a comedy, so there they were, playing rock, paper, scissors in order to declare the winner.

"Why not pick an action-comedy and get this over with?" Jiro asked in annoyance, watching how at least six people battled on rock, paper, scissors.

"But it's not the same," Kaminari whined. "Since when do you see Adam Sandler in a Transformers movie? Never."

"The Transformers saga is great, you can't hate on it," Kirishima argued, earning a few agreements from his classmates. "Bakubro, what do you say?"

"That you're all a fucking bunch of idiots," Katsuki grumbled with his arms crossed. A few groans were heard from his classmates, and he clicked his tongue in annoyance. "What the fuck are you all whining about? If you want to see a fucking movie, just pick a random one from the goddammed pile!"

Izuku chuckled from the kitchen as he heard everyone complain and debate their options. Todoroki, Uraraka and him were currently helping Sato with the cake. Todoroki used his quirk to cool the cake down enough to decorate it with some cream cheese frosting. He wasn't really supposed to be using his quirk outside of training, but it was all for the sake of cake. They would be lying if they said that their mouths weren't watering at the delicious smell. Sato was one hell of a baker.

Mina suddenly popped her head inside the kitchen, grabbing Todoroki and Sato by their elbows and dragging them to the common room."Come on guys, we need your help deciding on a movie since these people are being idiots."

"Why don't you just put Ice Age?" Todoroki said with a serious face. Izuku laughed at that suggestion, but Mina's expression to it was even funnier. It seemed like it would take a while for the class to decide on something.

Izuku and Uraraka finished decorating the cake, grabbing some paper plates from the cabinets and a knife to cut the cake and share it. While in the process of cutting slices of cake, Uraraka watched Izuku from the corner of her eyes taking a deep breath.

"Izu-kun?" Izuku hummed, offering her a small smile to let her know he was listening. "Is there something going on between you and Bakugo?"

The question caught him off guard, eyes widening in the slightest. "W-Why would you think that there's something going on?"

Uraraka giggled, serving the slices of cake into different plates. "Well, for starters, you've got that silly little blush on your cheeks."

Letting go of the knife, the greenette immediately went to cover his flushed cheeks in embarrassment. He looked around the kitchen in panic, grateful that there wasn't anyone around to hear what the girl had just said. "What the hell, Ochako?!"

"Well? Spill the beans, mister," Uraraka smirked crossing her arms over her chest and lowering her voice down to a whisper. "Do you like Bakugo?"

"W-Wait, no! I—hold on, how?!" Izuku stuttered out, cheeks flushing a deeper shade of red.

"So you do?!" Uraraka asked in astonishment, mouth hanging open.

"Shhh!" Izuku shushed immediately, wanting the ground to open up and swallow him whole. How did Uraraka find out? Was his feelings for the blond obvious?! What would she think of him being gay?

"Sorry, sorry!" Uraraka whisper-yelled. "Oh my God, I can't believe this!"

"H-How did you..?" Izuku trailed off, looking away and scratching the back of his neck timidly.

"Honestly, I've had my suspicions for a while," Uraraka admitted, offering him a small smile. "Although Bakugo can be an ass most of the time, I know that he cares about you in his own annoying way. So I kind of see why you would like him."

Izuku frowned, tugging a curl of green hair and giving her an uneasy look. "Do you not care that I'm...gay?"

He was afraid to hear her answer, not having very good memories of the few times he has come out to someone. Uraraka offered him a reassuring smile, placing a hand on his shoulder and leaning forwards to whisper. "I'm more concerned about the fact that you like Bakugo more than the fact that you like boys."

Izuku let out a relieved sighed, chuckling at her comment and pushing her away playfully. It felt nice to have someone know about his sexual orientation without them being judgmental about it. "If I'm honest with you, I am kind of surprised myself but...I've known him my entire life, Ochako..."

"I get it," she ruffled his hair. "I'll support you even if you have poor taste in men. Just know that I don't care how strong he is, I will hit him with a frying pan if the moment calls for it."

"Thanks, Ochako," Izuku laughed, feeling genuinely happy to have a friend like Uraraka. He went back to cutting the carrot cake while the brunette went ahead and started handing out plates of cake. Soon enough, everyone had their own plate and were settling down in front of the T.V. with a bunch of pillows and blankets.

Izuku stood to the side awkwardly, not knowing where to sit down within the other students. Finding an empty spot next to Tsuyu, but was stopped by Uraraka. "Sorry, Izu-kun! Do you mind leaving me here?"

"U-Uh, sure." Izuku chuckled, scratching the back of his head. The brunette smile, nudging him on the side with her elbow.

"There's another empty spot by Bakugo," she whispered in his ear, giving him a sly wink and settling down next to Tsuyu. Discreetly looking over to where Katsuki sat, Izuku flushed a little when he noticed an empty spot in between Katsuki and Kirishima. With his nerves on edge, he slowly approached them.

"Yo, Midobro!" Kirishima greeted with a toothy grin.

"Hi, Kiri! Uh, d-do you mind if I sit here?" Izuku asked, cringing internally and glancing at Katsuki briefly. The blond caught his gaze but looked away, biting the inside of his cheek.

"Sure thing! I don't think Bakubro here will mind, right?" Kirishima said, nudging Katsuki with his foot. Katsuki glared at the redhead and slapped his foot away with a scowl.

"Don't fucking touch me with those dirty feet of yours," Katsuki growled, then looked at Izuku. "Tch, whatever, nerd."

Izuku nodded then reluctantly sat on the spot between the two boys. The movie that ended up winning was Deadpool, much to Kaminari's dismay who wanted to watch Grown-Ups. It was still a win-win situation since they all ended up agreeing on an action-comedy film.

Izuku ate his cake in silence, shoulders tense as he felt Katsuki's body heat engulfing him. It felt nice, but he didn't want to enjoy it too much in case the blond noticed. It would be too embarrassing to admit. He was having a hard time not giving in and leaning against Katsuki.

"Do you have a stick up your ass or something?" Katsuki muttered next to his ear. Jumping slightly in surprise, Izuku flushed and immediately covered his ear, turning to the blond.

"What?" Izuku whispered back, narrowing his eyes at him. Watching Izuku's reaction, Katsuki held back a sly smirk.

"You're all fucking tense. Relax, geez. I don't fucking bite." Katsuki said, rolling his eyes slightly.

"Oh, don't you?" The greenette retorted, making Katsuki raise his eyebrows. Izuku immediately shut his mouth and turned his attention back to the T.V. feeling embarrassed. He didn't know where he was getting such confidence to talk back to the blond.

With a small smile, Katsuki shook his head in amusement and went back to watching the movie as well. Eventually, Izuku started calming down and relaxing, absentmindedly leaning against Katsuki. He was completely engulfed in the movie, watching it with wide eyes as he inspected every scene. Feeling Izuku's weight against his arm, Katsuki turned to look at the distracted greenette, heartbeat fastening in the slightest.

He hated to admit it, but he actually didn't mind Izuku leaning up against him. It was somewhat comforting.

Ignoring the rest of the movie, Katsuki focused his ruby eyes on Izuku's side profile. His big doe eyes and freckles gave him a somewhat childish and adorable look. The blond held the urge to reach out and poke Izuku's freckled cheek, looking down at his lips instead. They were moving in a silent string of mumbles as the greenette studied the movie. Although annoying at times, Katsuki had to admit that it was a habit that he found somewhat endearing.

"You're staring," Uraraka suddenly whispered in his ear, snapping him out of his trance. Turning to yell something at her, he stopped when she gave him a knowing smile and a small wink. The brunette then turned around, heading towards the girl's bathroom with a skip to her step.

Katsuki was dumbfounded, suddenly realizing what just happened. His cheeks burned and he had to cover his face from embarrassment. He had been caught staring at the greenette so intently, and he had no retort to that. What was he going to tell her anyway? That he was unknowingly admiring the boy next to him?

Wait, why was he doing that in the first place?!

Oh, who was he kidding? He could no longer keep denying the obvious.

With a sigh, he glanced at the greenette one last time, crossing his arms in front of his chest. As long as no one knew of his growing feelings, everything would be fine. With everything that was happening to Izuku, the least thing he needed was for his former bully to admit such stupid feelings. He was better off without knowing.

Katsuki's heart ached, but he chose to ignore it. His goal at the moment was to help the greenette and get him out of a dark place. All he wanted was for Izuku to finally be happy. Once he achieved that, he would watch from the sidelines as his childhood friend continued on with his life. That was enough for Katsuki.

But little did he know that he would never be able to let go of the freckled boy.
