Natsu P.O.V

Ring! Ring!

School was over and I quickly packed up to see if I could catch up with Lucy.

I ran through the halls and I jumped the stairs to find her as fast as I could.

I finally saw that blond hair with that red ribbon, so I quickly took the chance to grab her hand.

"Lucy!"

She looked back at me with a very startled face.

"Natsu?"

My head went blank and I quickly dragged her to the nurse's office.

"Natsu wha-?"

"Lucy don't go."

"Huh?"

"Don't go on that date with Gray."

"Why?"

"He's dangerous."

"More like you're jealous."

"What?!"

Jealous?! Why would I be jealous?!

"Natsu, stop trying to interfere. My life doesn't concern you."

She then turned around and opened the door, walking away from me like every other girl in my life.

"Lisanna! Don't go! I have something to tell you! "

"I'm sorry Natsu."

I clenched my jaw angrily at the memory. I'm not making the same mistake twice!

I opened the door and ran after her. Once I saw her, I grabbed her by the hand and didn't let go.

"Lucy, I'm trying to protect you. Don't go!"

She looked at me in shock before she shook my hand away from hers. "Well, I don't need your protection. Wasn't I the crazy weirdo that talks to herself? I thought you said I was an outsider."

"Lucy, that was the past, you're-!"

"Save it Natsu. I'm done with trying to break that ice. That ice is too big for anyone to brake."

I grew angry and lashed out without thinking. "Fine! Leave! Don't come crying to me later!"

"Fine!"

She walked into her classroom and slammed the door behind her.

THE NEXT DAY

Lucy P.O.V

I was walking out my room to get ready for my date with Gray.

"Good morning Lucy-Sama," said the lines of maids. Then Capricorn came up to me and started to ask me questions,"Lucy-Sama, where are you going today?"

I glared at him. "Does it matter?"

"Of course it does. We need to know so we can keep an eye on you."

"Capricorn, I'm going to meet up with a friend by myself."

"Lucy-Sama, we cannot allow you to leave without a guard."

"Well I can, and I will."

"Lucy-Sama, it's for your own good."

"Capricorn, please stop. All because my mom died from it, doesn't mean I will too."

"Lucy-Sama, I simply cannot let you go."

I was out of ideas on how to escape until I remembered something sinister. "Capricorn, do you want me to show daddy your dirty magazines?"

He gasped and his face turned red. "Lucy-Sama, what are you talking about?!"

"I'm just saying. If daddy finds out you have those, he'll kick you out no matter your connections."

"..."

Heh, heh, heh. I've got him right where I want him.

"Don't worry, I won't tell. Only if you let me go by myself. You chose."

"Very well Lucy-Sama, you may go."

I then smiled happily., "Thank you Capricorn!"

I then left to go meet him.

I took the train to the Magnolia square. I checked my watch and saw I was late by 5 minutes.

I hope he's not worried...

I got off and saw the park a few steps away.

I ran straight there and saw Gray waiting by a tree.

Okay Luce, time to get your cute on!

"Gray!" I yelled while running his way.

"You look great Lucy."

"Really? Thanks!"

"Shall we go?"

I nodded and he led the way down the shopping district.

Today I don't have to worry about Natsu and his tantrums.

After all...I've never felt this happy feeling before. For the first time, I think I found someone who could be "the one."

I knew Natsu was lying when he said Gray was dangerous. He's such a sweet and respectful guy. He's absolutely perfect~

After the long day of walking and going to the arcade, we decided to take break before leaving.

"Here," Gray said while passing me a bottle of juice.

"Thanks..."

I began to go through my purse for money to pay him back.

"Don't worry, it's on me."

"Really? Thanks!" I held the bottle of juice close to my heart.

"No, thank you. I had a lot of fun today." He looked at me with a smiled as he went to touch my hand.

I blushed at his gesture. "Me too..."

Gray then looked away and began to speak as he removed his hand from mine, "So I've been wondering...what do you think about leaving Natsu for me?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, isn't Natsu your-"

"Oh no! Never in a million years!"

"What?"

"He doesn't like me in the slightest!"

"So you're not...going out?"

"Yep!"

I smiled at him happily, "I was really excited about coming here today. But if you don't mind, Gray, I would like to have a real boyfriend..."

"No, no, no, way."

"Huh?"

"Why would I date someone like you, if you're not Natsu's girl? What was I doing? Tell a guy stuff like that sooner. Man, what a waste of time and money."

"Gray?"

"Sorry, I have this thing with Natsu. I can't let him be happy. So when I saw him getting better, I decided to steal his only light, you."

"But, why?"

"Let's just say he did something to me..."

He then started to walk off angrily, "So anyway, forget all this okay? Later."

I felt my heart breaking and tears filling my eyes. My first date was nothing but a sceme to hurt Natsu...

I watched him leave as he left me there in tears. Suddenly, that pink hair appeared before my eyes.

"I knew something was up, when you asked her out."

Natsu P.O.V

"Natsu!" Gray yelled in surprise.

"Taking revenge by trying to hurt a girl. That's a gutless move, ice princess."

"Shut up flame brain you're the one who stole Erza's cake and got me in trouble!!"

"I can't believe you're still hung over that!"

"Yeah, I am! You won't believe what happened to me when she thought I took her cake. She beat the crap out of me! From that day forth, I promised to take away any happiness from you!"

"You're an idiot! You should have fought me head on!"

"Shut up, you would have done the same thing!"

"No I wouldn't have! I actually have some pride!" I looked at him Emily before I rolled my eyes and walked away.

"C'mon. Let's go Lucy," I said while patting her shoulder.

"Gray, was this all a lie?" She asked while tears continued to fill her eyes.

"Well it is your fault for getting tricked. I mean...how desperate for a man are you. You're weird and too naive. I'd never go for a girl as cheap as you."

As I looked at Lucy, I saw tears start to fall.

That bastard!

I turned around and punched him in the face. "What the hell!" He got up and punched me back. "Gray!" I yelled about to strike him back.

Then Lucy stepped in the way. "Natsu, please stop!"

I put down my fist and grabbed her by the hand.

I the turned to face Gray, "We may not be dating, but she does belong to me. It gets me mad when you hurt her for no reason. "

Lucy P.O.V

What an idiot...

We began to walk down the shopping district to the train station. My hand still intertwined with his, and it made me feel safe. I didn't want to let go.

"Uh...Natsu-"

"Oh sorry." He quickly let go of my hand.

"Natsu, did you know from the start?"

"I knew he was up to something, but I didn't know what. Why do you think I tried to stop you?"

"Hmm. But didn't you say that you weren't going to help me?"

His face turned a shade of pink.

"It's not like I was worried or anything..."

"I never said you were."

"Shut up! You're getting me confused!"

We walked down the street in silence. Then I spoke my thoughts out.

"Well...I guess I had my first love I guess..."

I was in a daze until I felt a pain on my forehead.

"That was not love, idiot! And an idiot like that ice bastard, could never show you true love."

I think...he's trying to make me feel better.

I suddenly felt a strange sensation.

I stopped walking and felt my heart.

"Lucy? What's-"

I did the first thing that came to mind. I ran to him with open arms and hugged him tightly.

"Natsu, thank you!"
