Lucy P.O.V

I looked out the hospital window and sighed. School starts today...

Natsu P.O.V

I looked at the board and saw that Lucy and I are in the same class again! I ran over to our homeroom and I looked everywhere.

Lucy? Where is she?

Then Levy came in. "Levy! Do you-?"

"Can't tell you." She said while placing her bag down.

"Why not?"

"I made a promise."

"Promise my butt. Tell me, where's Lucy?"

She stayed quite as she sat down in her set and took out a book. "You tried calling her?" she asked.

"Yeah. She doesn't answer..."

"Oh that's right...she changed her number."

"Can I get it?"

"Sure."

She began to write the number on a piece of paper. "Here."

I looked at it. "1-800-GO-2HELL--Is this some sort of joke?!"

"Nope. Call it."

"Fine. I'll find her myself!" I began to walk off when the teacher came in.

"Okay class. Sit down."

I walked over to my seat. I'll find her after class.

Lucy P.O.V

I walked out my room and I began to walk towards the water fountain. "Miss Heartfilia?"

I looked up to see...Jellal? "Jellal?" I asked.

"No. Mystogan."

"Oh...I'm sorry...you just look like-"

"That's okay. Anyway, I will be your care provider for today. Do not hesitate to ask for anything."

"Thank you."

He walked off without another word.

*** 2 months later

I looked down at my stomach. "I'm getting huge..." I whispered to myself.

I slowly got up. I began to waddle towards the door. I opened it and I saw a nurse. "Ms. Heatfilia, you have to stay in bed."

"What?"

"I'm sorry, doctors' orders, but if you need anything, please ask."

"Well, I need to leave."

"I'm sorry..."

I sighed and walked back in. I waddled towards a mirror and looked at myself. I'm losing so much hair now...

I shook my head. No! Don't think about it!

I looked at the suite case which held all my clothes. I need to get out...

*** 1 month later

I looked at my plan. "It's perfect!" I whispered happily.

I memorized when all the different nurses shifts come in. If I'm right, the clueless nurse will be in charge today.

I then felt a sudden pain. Woah...5 month old Natsu jr. knows how to kick...

I opened the door. "Ms. Heartfilia?"

"Can I leave yet?"

"I'm sorry, you can't leave..."

"Can I at least go to the roof top?"

"Uh...I guess you can...but-"

"Thank you." I began to walk towards the roof.

I stuck out my tongue. SUCKER!

I walked to the bathroom and took off the gown. I placed the hat on and walked out to the exit.

I need to go to the school.

Natsu P.O.V

I walked up to Levy.

"Lucy's been missing for 3 months and not to mention her sudden disappearance during the last month of summer. Where is she? Where is my girlfriend, Levy?"

"Did you call the number?"

"NO!"

"That's why."

"Levy, stop screwing around!"

The teacher then came in. "Take your seats."

I rolled my eyes and sat down. "As you all know, your fellow classmate has been missing. Today, we were told, she will be transferring out."

What?

I raised my hand. "Where is she going?"

"Homeschool."

Homeschool? She could never be homeschooled because her dad threw her out! What's going on?!

***After school

"Levy!"

"What?"

"Where is she?"

She bit her lip and sighed. "Fine, I'll tell you."

She took a deep breath and said, "Lucy moved back in with her dad. She didn't want to trouble you so she didn't say anything."

"Do you know where she is now?"

"Uh...probably shopping...?"

"Where?"

"Fooooor...food"

"Okay, thanks Levy!"

I ran out without another word.

Lucy P.O.V

As I looked at the different fruit, I couldn't decide which ones to get.

"Hm...I'm really craving grapes...but I want apples..." I whispered to myself.

I'll just take both. I grabbed the fruits and placed them in the basket.

I was done shopping and I went to go pay.

"Waiting for a baby?" asked the lady.

"Yep."

"How many?" she asked excited.

"One."

"What gender?"

"Uh...a boy."

"It must be nice, having the ability to have kids..."

I looked at her confused. "What do you mean?"

"Oh...It's kind of embarrassing, but I can't have kids."

I looked down at my belly. Here I am, with a baby I got by mistake...

"Well, here are your bags!" She smiled cheerfully.

"Thank you..."

"Take care!"

I walked out, feeling a little guilty. I sighed and walked over to the cross walk.

I waited there until I was allowed to walk. I started to walk when I saw Natsu across the street.

Natsu?!

I stopped walking and looked at him.

Why is he here? I can't cross! If I do...he'll find out I'm pregnant!

Then he looked at me.

Natsu P.O.V

I looked over at the girl standing in the middle of the street.

That looks like...Lucy?! Is she...?!

Then I looked to the right of her and I saw a truck coming.

"LUCY! MOVE!"

Lucy P.O.V

I heard the honking of a truck. I looked, but I was too late.

Natsu P.O.V

As I saw the truck hit her, I started to tear up.

"LUCY!"

I quickly called 911.

The medics came and placed her in the ambulance.

I walked up to one of the people. "Is she going to be all right?"

"Are you her boyfriend or husband?"

I nodded.

"Come with me."

I jumped into the ambulance with Lucy.

Lucy P.O.V

It was pitch black. I couldn't see, but I was still able to hear a little. "Quick! Someone get an available emergency room open!" I heard someone yell.

Emergency? What happened? Is my baby okay?

Natsu P.O.V

When we got to the hospital, a doctor walked up to me. "Are you the husband?"

"Not yet, but I'm the father to her baby! Is she going to be alright?!"

"We have a problem."

"What is it?!"

"We can only save one."

"Huh?"

"We can save the baby or the mother."

I covered my face with my hands and started to cry. I can't lose Lucy. "Save the mother, please!"

I'm so sorry Lucy, I have to save you.

Lucy P.O.V

I woke up and found myself in my hospital room.

"Huh? what?"

I looked to my side and saw Natsu. "Natsu what-"

I tried to cover my belly but noticed, I didn't have one anymore.

"My...baby...where is he?"

"I'm sorry Lucy. I could only save one of you..."

I looked at him with tears in my eyes. "Why?"

"Luce-"

"Why did you save me?!"

"Lucy! Why didn't you tell me?!"

I looked away. "I didn't want to burden you..."

"Burden me?! Lucy, that's our kid! It's suppose to be my burden!"

"I'm sorry! I didn't know what to do!" I yelled while crying. "I was scared and confused, and it felt like not telling you was the best thing to do!"

He reached over and hugged me. "It's okay. We can have another one...on our own time..."

I pushed him away. "No we can't! I don't have any time!"

"Huh?"

I took off my cap and showed him my bald head.

"Natsu...I'm dying!"
