2 Months later. (May, 18)

Natsu P.O.V

As I stared at Lucy from behind my history book, I knew, I had to at least ask her out to the school dance. It's the only chance I can tell her.

"Natsu!"

I quickly stood up and looked at the teacher. "Y-yes!"

"Read me the next paragraph." I started to sweat. I looked around the class to see what page we were on.

"Uh..."

"Mhm. Next time, follow along. You get an F for today. Sit back down."

The class began to snicker and I sat back down, feeling a little embarrassed.

The bell rang and I quickly ran up to Lucy. "Lucy!"

"Huh? Oh...Natsu..." She said while looking down with a pink face.

She's been doing that recently. I wonder why.

"So Lucy, I was wondering if you..." I began to scratch my head in embarrassment. "If you...If you..."

"If you, what?" She asked a little annoyed.

"Want to go to the-"

"Lucy!" I looked behind her to see Levy calling her.

Levy! You always have bad timing!

"Lucy! Are you going to the dance?" Levy asked while walking towards us.

"I wasn't going to."

"Why not~?" Levy whined.

"Well, I don't have a date. I also don't have anything to wear."

"That's an easy fix. I'll give you a dress and, you can come with me and Gajeel."

"Thanks but...I don't want to intrude on your date. Also, I'll probably just sit at the corner or something..."

Levy looked at me, indicating I should do something.

"Uh-" I began but was cut off by Levy. "Lucy! You're going!"

"But-"

"No buts! It's an obligation!" Levy then walked off without another word.

Lucy sighed as she looked at me, "Are you going?"

"Ye-yeah..."

"Well, at least I can raid the food table with someone." She said while smiling. "Well, I better get going. Bye Natsu!" She yelled while running off.

I turned away and smiled. It didn't go as plan but it's close enough!

*** Around 6 o'clock at Levy's house. (Before the dance)

Lucy P.O.V

"Okay, I'm coming out now!" I yelled from inside the room.

I turned the door knob and walked out to see an amazed Levy. "You look...GORGEOUS!" She yelled while running towards me. "Natsu's going to go heads over heels for you once he sees this!"

"Now let's fix this...and that...and...BOOM! Perfect! You're gonna be the top dog at the dance!"

Ding Dong!

"Oh! Gajeel's here!" She shouted while running to the door to open it.

I started to walk away towards the kitchen. I didn't want to intrude on their conversation.

I have to tell Natsu!I have to tell him tonight. It'll be my last chance...my absolute...last chance...

When we got there, I quickly walked over to the food table. I grabbed a quick plate of food and ran over to a corner to sit. I sat down, with a plate full of food on my lap. I looked like a loner.

Natsu P.O.V

I walked into the banquet hall and tried looking for Lucy in the sea of people. I walked over to the food table to see if she would be there, but she wasn't.

Lucy...where are you...?

I then looked over to my right to see Lucy walking to a corner.

She wore a long purple dress covering in beautiful white lining across the top part of the dress; as she walked the dress trailed behind her giving everyone an exquisite feel to the atmosphere.

The bewitching violet ribbon lining intoxicated everyone in the dresses beauty - the radiant silk ran down to the bottom of her magnificent feet. Her intricate neat lacing made her into a feminine illusionist making every mortal fall in love with the dresses beauty. The delicate ribbon introduced attention to the lacing lining up against the breast.

I was mesmerized by her beauty.

Lucy P.O.V

I finished the plate of food and I looked back down at the plate, hoping more food would magically appear. I didn't want to get back up, I felt too lazy.

"Well...the plate won't fill itself up," I whispered to myself while sighing. I was about to get up when I saw a hand approach me.

"Need a hand?"

I looked up and saw Natsu. My face turned a light shade of pink. "Na-Natsu..." I slowly passed my hand to his and he pulled me up. "I thought we were going to raid the food table together?"

I giggled and smiled at him. "What're we waiting for?" He took my hand and we walked together to the table.

Levy P.O.V

I looked over at Lucy and Natsu. "Why're they just eating?" I whispered to myself.

"Still playing match maker, I see," Gajeel said while passing me a cup of punch.

"Just look at them. They're clearly in love."

"You can't rush love shrimp," he said while placing his elbow on my head.

"I'm going to do something."

"Like what?"

"I'm going to go up to the D.J and ask for a slow song."

"Slow song...Those are a drag. Well, you do that. I need to get-"

"You're coming with me." I said with an evil aura.

Lucy P.O.V

I was busy stuffing my face with a piece of carrot cake when the D.J began to talk.

"Well ladies and gentleman. It's time for that special dance of the night. Grab your partners and start dancing~"

I looked towards Natsu and he just stared at the food with a pink face.

Why does he look so embarrassed?

I walked up to him. "Hey...Is everything all right?"

He looked at me and he began to scratch his head. "Uh...I was wondering if...you would like to...you know..." He took a long break and finally continued, "If you would...like to dance...with me?"

My face turned a light red. I simply nodded and took his hand.

"I-I'm not good at dancing..." Nastu said looking embarrassed.

"It's okay, just follow my lead."

His right hand went down to my left hip, and his left hand gently grasped my right hand. Slowly but surely, we began to dance.

After a minute into the dance, it got a little awkward. "Uh...Lucy...I have to tell you something. I looked at him with a pink face.

"What is it?" I asked with a pounding heart.

"I Love you."

I looked at him with wide eyes as he held my waist. "You...love me?"

"I do..."

He slowly moved in and placed his lips on mine. I felt tears of joy run down my cheeks as we kissed.
