A/N So I will be titling the chapters like this. That way people can easily tell whose POV it is and so on:) also, I'm so sorry this wasn't posted yesterday I was real busy, but the next chapter will be posted tomorrow on schedule:)-Piper
Job searching has been nearly a bust. It's been almost 6 months since the meet that ruined my career, and not a single job has accepted me. They're either too worried that I'll quit and go back to swimming, or they think my degrees are fake because I was a professional swimming and I "wouldn't have had time to get a real degrees." Job interviewers are idiots.
I wake up to my alarm, it's 7:00 and I have yet another job interview in an hour. I'm not hopeful, but we'll see. I get out of bed, stretching my arms as high above my head as physically possible, and stand up. Stumbling over to my bathroom, I lean my elbows onto my counter and look straight at myself in the mirror. "You can do this," I half-heartedly mumble sleepily, "You will get this job." Even though I know it isn't true, I always say that to myself before an interview, and obviously it hasn't worked yet, so I'm very close to stopping this tradition. I brush a comb through my hair and walk back into my bedroom.
Opening the closet, I search for my good suit. Nope, I think, There's a t-shirt. And now a button up, I'll take that. I throw the shirt into my bed. Um, a hoodie? No, not professional even if I take it off there. It is summer too, so I don't think I'll need a coat. Now, my suit jacket, yes! Now pants, pants, pants.....here! I throw both my pants and suit jacket onto my bed as well, and quickly change into them. Glancing at the clock, I realize I only have thirty minutes left. So I decide I should probably eat breakfast now.
Now more awake, I jog to the kitchen and pour myself a bowl of cereal. It's not anything interesting, just Lucky Charms. Yes, I am five years old at heart.
I carelessly put my dish into the sink and go back to my bathroom to brush my teeth. Again, not very interesting. Just brushing my teeth. Up and down, left and right with a brush and toothpaste. I rinse out my mouth with my mouthwash, again like a boring normal person. Going tithe front door, I pull on my shoes and check the time on my watch. It's 7:35, and I decide to head out, as my interview is at 8, and it takes fifteen minutes to get there. I race down the stairs to the parking garage and drive out, ready for my interview. Hooray.
As traffic was horrible, I arrive five minutes late. Quickly parking my car, I race up the stairs and into the office. Face red and panting, I burst into the office and everyone stares straight at me. "I am so sorry to disturb you all, but I would like to ask where I am to go for my interview?" I announce to the office. Everyone stares at me even more like I was insane.
"Miss Chase is in conference room B, she will be your interviewer," the receptionist to my left replies. I turn towards her and nod, now realising that I just acted like a total idiot.
"Thank you so much," I thank, walking over to the elevator next to the receptionist's desk. I walk inside and press the "4" button as it says "Conference Room B" next to it. I tap my foot waiting to reach the floor, stupid ADHD.
Finally, the elevator reaches the fourth floor and I walk out and literally the door to conference room B is right in front of me. I walk in and sitting in a chair is a tallish looking woman with slightly curly blonde hair that falls past her shoulders. She has stunning grey eyes and high cheekbones. She is wearing a pan suit, but she somehow makes it work. And she looks slightly, just a little bit beautiful.
"You're late," she says, "But let's begin with our interview."
