Two Worlds Become One
Catch a Rising Star
A/N: Here it is. The final chapter of this story. It might be a bit short compared to that last monster from the last chapter, but then again, it's really only one scene.
Well, let's get on with it, then! Roll it!
Chapter 18
Two Worlds Become One
Three months later
The stadium was going crazy as colorful lights flashed everywhere. This concert that was being held was one that was sure to be remembered for years to come. Standing over in the VIP section of the stadium, Rosie and Harper were both waiting for the show to start. The teenage girl was wearing a pale yellow chiffon, knee-length summer dress with an A-line neckline and cream white heeled sandals on her feet. Her indigo hair was tied up into a nice ponytail over her shoulder, cleaned of paint stains.
Rosie wore a simple red summer dress with little floral prints all over. On her feet were casual beige sandals that tie around the ankles, and her mint green colored hair was let loose for once, showing off its natural curls.
A lot has changed in just three months. Thanks to the news footage of Poppy and Branch establishing their relationship, Poppy's producer and a fellow singer herself, Suki Ayama, showed it to a new manager by the name of Griffin Gristle, who was also Bridget's love interest. He was quite impressed and very much inspired by the two's love story, that he offered both Poppy and Branch his services to become their new manager. Poppy was delighted to accept and have a much better manager than Chef, but Branch was understandably a little hesitant.
He never really wanted to become a star, and he lacked a bit of self-esteem. Plus, he wasn't sure about moving to Los Angeles because Harper was still in school, and he didn't want to make her transfer because of him. But Poppy, her group of friends, and his family encouraged him to try.
Soon, Branch packed his things and went back to his grandmother's condo to live until Harper was done with school for the summer, and then she and Rosie would join him there. Although his sister did tease him a little bit about it, saying that he should've moved in with Poppy, but Branch had told Harper to knock it off. They had only been dating for a few weeks at the time, so he thought that it was moving a little too fast.
The final boost of confidence came when his girlfriend found an unfinished song that he had almost forgotten about while she was helping him unpack into the family's condo. It was something that Branch had been working on with his parents right before their accident. After that, he had put it aside, not wanting to do music for a time after that. With Poppy's help, they had finished it and Branch finally decided to try and become a musician, and he chose to use that song as his debut.
After a month of preparing and recording, his single was on the air, and it had reached thousands of online streams the world over within only a week! It was a huge hit! Everyone was so proud of him for finally emerging from out of the shadows to step up and shine, which instilled him with enough confidence to record a full album. But he still made time for his family and for Poppy, and the two of them have even worked on lots of collaborations together, whether it be original songs or covers. Needless to say, it looked like Poppy had regained her inspiration, thanks to Branch.
Now, they were going to perform their first concert together, kicking things off with Branch's hit single. Well, technically it was Poppy's concert, but she had invited her boyfriend as her special guest, since most of the new songs and covers she had produced were duets with them. Everyone in the entire city had been looking forward to the event, and they were practically bursting at the seams.
Soon, the stage lights slowly began to dim down, and everyone started cheering and squealing loudly at the anticipation that was building up. Then, in the darkness, a single spotlight turned on and shone down on Poppy Summers as upbeat music started to play. The pink-haired superstar was wearing a sleeveless teal summer dress with light aqua flower prints on the skirt, beige heeled sandals, and her hair was pulled up into a ponytail with a matching teal flower headband.
"Here she is, ladies and gentlemen!" An announcer exclaimed. "Here tonight with a very special guest, along with some friends, it's Poppy Summers!" Poppy had a wide smile on her face as she began to sing.

Poppy: I got this feeling
Inside my bones.
It goes electric, wavy
When I turn it on.
Just then, there was more squealing and cheering as another spotlight illuminated the figure of Branch as he appeared next to Poppy. He was wearing a stylish leather green sleeveless vest with brighter green trim and brown dress pants with beige accents, with black leather boots on his feet. In the spotlight, his neatly styled hair looked a little bit blue and indigo. It was the farthest that he could go with coloring his hair for the moment, since Poppy had suggested it, but he still looked good.
Branch: And if you want it
Inside your soul,
Both: Just open up your heart,
Let music take control.
Just then, there were a few back-up singers and dancers appearing behind them in a sort of V formation. They were all Poppy's old friends, who she introduced to Branch after he had moved to Los Angeles. All of them went by their old middle school group name, The Snack Pack.
There was Guy, Biggie, both of who he already knew; Suki, surprisingly Satin and Chenille, and two more members by the name of Cooper and Samantha, who goes by the nickname Smidge, because of her diminutive stature.
All of them were wearing either dresses or fancy clothes. Suki was wearing a cream beige crop top with matching pants. The Vega twins were wearing similar pastel colored clothes, except Satin was wearing a jumpsuit and Chenille was wearing a summer dress. Guy was wearing a glittery silver jumpsuit. Biggie was wearing a purple vest and matching shorts. Cooper was wearing a dark pink hoodie, the hood down, and blue baggy pants, with a green cap on his head. And Smidge was wearing a simple fuschia dress.
All of them then started to sing and dance as they maintained the formation, giving the couple in front of them enough space.
I got that sunshine in my pocket,
Got that good soul in my feet.
I feel that hot blood in my body
When it drops.
All: Oooh-ooh!
Branch and Poppy: I can't take my eyes up off it,
Moving so phenomenally.
Room on lock the way we rock it,
So don't stop!
All: And under the lights
When everything goes,
Nowhere to hide
When I'm getting you close.
Cooper: *rapping* Can't stop, won't stop.
All: When we move,
Well, you already know.
So just imagine,
Just imagine, just imagine.
Just then, Branch took the lead, coming up to the front as everyone else on stage provided him with backup vocals. The audience was screaming and cheering to the song, loving to hear him sing a solo. Some of them were even singing and dancing along. Harper and Rosie were some of those people, cheering for Branch from their spots in the VIP section of the stadium.
Branch: Nothing I can see but you
When you dance, dance, dance.
Feeling good, good, creeping up on you
So just dance, dance, dance.
Come on!
All those things I shouldn't do,
But you dance, dance, dance.
And ain't nobody leaving soon,
So keep dancing.
I can't stop the feeling!
So just dance, dance, dance.
I can't stop the feeling!
So just dance, dance, dance.
Come on!
Ooh, it's something magical.
It's in the air,
It's in my blood,
It's rushing on.
Poppy then joined in song, coming up next to him. Both of them were smiling at each other, and they were even dancing together, making the crowd whoop and cheer at the sight of them. Naturally, Branch's face flushed a bright red, and so did Poppy, but the smile on her face told him that she didn't really mind. At least everyone knew that they were happy together.
Branch and Poppy: Don't need no reason,
Don't need control.
I fly so high, no ceiling,
When I'm in my zone.
'Cause I got that sunshine in my pocket.
Got that good soul in my feet.
I feel that hot blood in my body
When it drops.
I can't take my eyes up off it,
Moving so phenomenally.
Room on lock the way we rock it,
So don't stop.
Once more, everyone was singing and dancing together.
All: And under the lights
When everything goes.
Nowhere to hide
When I'm getting you close.
When we move,
Well, you already know.
So just imagine,
Just imagine, just imagine.
Then, Branch took up the lead again, while everyone else was singing back-up.
Branch: Nothing I can see but you
When you dance, dance, dance.
Feeling good, good, creeping up on you,
So just dance, dance, dance.
Come on!
All those things I shouldn't do,
But you dance, dance, dance.
And ain't nobody leaving soon,
So keep dancing.
I can't stop the feeling!
So just dance, dance, dance.
I can't stop the feeling!
So just dance, dance, dance.
I can't stop the feeling! (Whoo!)
So just dance, dance, dance.
I can't stop the feeling.
So keep dancing, come on.
Then, Branch rejoined his girlfriend and their group of friends into a little dance routine for the instrumental part of the song, making the audience clap to the rhythm of it.
I can't stop the—
I can't stop the—
I can't stop the—
I can't stop the—
I can't stop the feeling!
Then, everyone started to dance and sing along with Branch, making the audience cheer and jump around like crazy in the stadium.
All: Nothing I can see but you
When you dance, dance, dance.
(Branch: I can't stop the feeling!)
Feeling good, good, creeping up on you,
So just dance, dance, dance.
Come on.
(I can't stop the feeling!)
All those things I shouldn't do,
But you dance, dance, dance.
(I can't stop the feeling!)
And ain't nobody leaving soon,
So keep dancing.
Branch: Everybody sing! (Everyone: I can't stop the feeling!)
Everyone: Got this feeling in my body. (Branch: I can't stop the feeling!)
Got this feeling in my body. (I can't stop the feeling!)
Wanna see you move your body. (I can't stop the feeling!)
Got this feeling in my body.
Come on.
Branch: Break it down.
Everyone: Got this feeling in my body.
Branch: Can't stop the feeling.
Everyone: Got this feeling in my body.
Branch: Oooh-ooh-ooh-ooh.
The entire audience stood up and cheered and screamed at the top of their lungs as the song came to an end. The performers were all feeling a little breathless from the singing and dancing, but they were all feeling like they were on top of the world.
Poppy came over to Branch and took his slightly sweaty hands in hers, making him face her. She smiled brightly at him, and he returned it with a tender grin of his own, his thumbs gently brushing against her knuckles.
The pink-haired star then turned over to the audience, letting go of one of Branch's hands and raising up the one that was still entwined with hers. "Branch Hawthorne, everybody!" She shouted, and the crowd cheered loudly for her boyfriend.
Then, ignoring the loud cheers ringing throughout the stadium, she took his other hand again, making him face her again, then leaned forward and pressed her lips against his own, wrapping her arms around his neck, while his own arms found a comfortable spot around her waist, slightly dipping her.
The crowd screamed and squealed out loud again at the affectionate display, but neither superstar paid it any mind. They could say whatever things about them, whether they might be good or bad, or maybe even somewhat scandalous. They will be there for each other in this crazy world of fame, no matter what. And that was a promise.
A/N: After combining the votes on here and on fanfiction.net, the total tally is 6 for yes and 2 for no. So yes, I will be making a trilogy. However, I will be starting it after I update two other stories, one of them being "Song Defies Color".
The song that I used is, of course, "Can't Stop the Feeling!", from our Branch in real life, Justin Timberlake. But this is the film version of the song. However, I don't own either version in any way or form. All credit goes to their respective owners.
And that brings this story to a close! I really hoped that you guys enjoyed it, especially since this is from someone that was pretty new to the Trolls fandom. I'll see y'all later! Please leave a comment about what you think. They are highly appreciated. And remember to stay healthy!
Got to fly! ;)
