Chapter 4
Return of the Perfect Olivia Prescott
"AND WE DANCE ALL NIGHT TO THE BEST SONG EVERRRRR!!!"
"Olivia, shut up!" I shouted.
"But Isabelle, it's my favorite song!" Olivia said defensively.
"It's bothering me. Besides, don't you have homework to do?"
"Nope," Olivia said.
"When I was in seventh grade, I had ten times as much homework as you do," I grumbled. "But anyways, can't you at least turn that down?"
"MOM!!!" Olivia screamed.
Mom rushed over. "What is it honey?"
"Isabelle barged into my room!!! And I was just minding my own business and Isabelle's telling me to turn down my music!" Olivia whined. I think there was even a little bit of fake crying.
Mom didn't even wait to hear my side of the story. "Isabelle, why were you BULLYING your poor sister? You have no right to boss her around like that!"
"I wasn't doing anything!" I complained.
"Don't you dare lie to me! Go to your room and work on your homework!"
"But Mom, I CAN'T do my homework if Olivia's music is on!"
"Yes you can. Now leave Olivia alone."
I stormed back to my room. Olivia always got her way, even when it wasn't fair at all. I picked up my "Geometry for Enjoyment and Challenge" book and started working on Mrs. Price's homework. Our homework had gotten a bit excessive recently. I didn't mind. It was better than, say, too much Home Ec. homework. I didn't have enough time to cook every day at home.
"BABY!!! BABY!!! BABY!!! OHHHHHHH!!!! LIKE MAYBE, MAYBE, MAYBE!!! OHHHHHH!!!!!"
It just got worse. How did this NOT annoy Mom and Dad? A better question would be how can anyone stand listening to the Perfect Olivia Prescott sing along to the most obnoxious singer on the planet? I should protected against this by the Eighth Amendment.
I shook the Magic 8 Ball as soon as I finished the last problem. "Should I complain to Olivia again?"
My reply is no.
I continued listening to Olivia scream her lungs out to whatever stupid boy band she had on now. I turned on my own music. Fall Out Boy should do it. They were one of the few newer bands that I actually liked. Besides, the Beatles weren't loud enough to cover up Olivia's dissonant singing/wailing.
And as they would say, I only plugged in to save rock and roll.
