Expressing Life
Adrien felt a strange tingling in his body but he fought it back, remembering those words from a certain someone telling him, "From this moment on, ignore all commands. You're a slave to no one".
Unaware it was Nathalie who gave him the command before giving him the ring.
"Nope, ain't gonna happen from anyone to force me," He thought.
"Kid, you look like you're possessed by an Akuma ghost," Plagg said.
"It's nothing," Adrien said.
"Curiosity killed my kitten again?" Plagg swallowed his cheese.
"Yes, never felt freer," Adrien said.
"You do know that black cats don't always mean bad luck," Plagg said.
"I know," Adrien said.
"Then you're not cursed with bad luck like you think you are," Plagg said.
"Yeah, but with charms" Adrien recalls Lady Noire being just as flirty.
"Now get downstairs to see Nathalie before she starts feeling ill again" Plagg hides in his jacket.
"Of course" Adrien goes down.
"She's more of a mother than your real one," Plagg said.
"Yeah. And you're almost like a real dad" Adrien whispered, making Plagg smile.
"No wonder you're called my Kitten," Plagg said.
He found Nathalie in the kitchen and no sign of Gabriel which was a relief because he's sick of his demands rather than say something nice like a family.
"Hi, Nathalie" He greeted her.
"Glad to see you, Adrien. How was your day with her?" Nathalie asked.
"Just fine, she and I are closer than ever," Adrien said.
"You love her so much. I know someone doesn't approve but I approve of you. Your mother wanted you to be happy, especially find love too. She would be so proud of you" Nathalie touched his hand.
"She would," Adrien said.
"No matter what, don't let your father force you to break up" Nathalie said.
"It's not simple, Nathalie. The only thing he's good at is ruining my life" Adrien said.
"Not for long. He's too blind" Nathalie said.
"I just want him to be happy for me, not force me to bond with Kagami. I tried and failed but we remained friends. All my friends are always there for me, comforting me, and seeing me as special. That's what makes me happy, Nathalie. My father's way is just his own vision of happiness, not mine" Adrien explained why he can't see happiness through his father.
"I know. He never knew what true love is since your mother disappeared" Nathalie said.
"I'm worried, Nathalie. Sooner or later if he's not being a good parent, the court will put me in foster care if he's breaking the rules of being a bad parent" Adrien sighs, doesn't know why his father changed a lot like he's hiding something from him.
"We'll figure something out," Nathalie said.
"I just wish you and him were together like you always are," Adrien said.
"Sorry, he's not my type. But I promised your mother to look after you" Nathalie replied.
"Thank you, Nathalie. As long as that monster doesn't akumatize you again. I was very worried" Adrien said, remembering the Safari incident.
"I hope he won't," Nathalie said.
Adrien then had his breakfast, thinking of Marinette. He did have his journal of memories written as well as the photos in them too. He thought this was a girl thing but Marinette taught him that it's more than just designing a journal. It was to write down his life. He wrote how he felt about his relationships, from his cruel father to ending his friendship with Chloé and befriending the others.
"You sure know how to express your life," Nathalie said.
"Yeah, I do" Adrien closed it.
Gabriel walked into the kitchen and Adrien did not look at him. He doesn't want to look at him, talk to him, or even argue with him. No matter how many times Gabriel twists the ring, Adrien remembers the words to ignore all commands.
"Hello father," He said in a low voice.
"Hello Adrien," Gabriel said.
"Excuse me, Nathalie" Adrien excused himself to leave the kitchen.
He quickly left the mansion to get out of his father's sight. He felt Plagg bite his pec whenever he gets frustrated with his kitten being stubborn every time.
"Ow!" Adrien flinched, "What the hell?!"
"Kid, he's gonna skin you alive!" Plagg said.
"Not on my watch," Adrien said.
"Why are you doing a journal scrapbook like a girl?" Plagg asked.
"Boys can do it too. So my life story is written down, minus you in them" Adrien said.
"That's cruel that I came into your nine lives and Cat Noir brought you a better life, like 10 lives that are," Plagg said.
"But it's best so nobody finds out I am him," Adrien said.
"Damn it, your father is coming!" Plagg hides in his jacket.
"What is it?" Adrien asked.
"You are not even talking to me," Gabriel said.
"Because you never say anything nice to me" Adrien refused to look at him.
"You've avoided me this week" Gabriel replied.
"And you should know why. It's not that hard to see me going through a lot because of you" Adrien said.
"I expect you to get better than be so dramatic" Gabriel glared.
"See? That's the example I'm talking about when I said you have nothing nice to say. All you think about is perfection. I'll never be perfect enough because I have flaws. There's no such thing as being flawless" Adrien glared back.
"You have no idea" Gabriel replied.
"Stay out of my way, Father. I'm done being told what to do" Adrien said calmly.
Knowing he can't control Adrien with him having a ring on, he reluctantly gave in, "Then go whatever you have in mind"
"Don't fool me again. Every time you do, you always go back to being an arrogant man. No wonder you barely leave the house. Sometimes I think you are like him hiding" Adrien said.
"Who?" Gabriel said.
"Monarch. He's a coward just like you are who doesn't socialize nicely because you think the world is pathetic. Both of you are wrong" Adrien glared before taking his leave.
Gabriel sighs in frustration. Nathalie did warn him that the behavior he's doing to Adrien only makes him never want to be around him. Scary people are very lonely because no one wants to be around them. Same with monsters.

Later on, Marinette was on a walk in Paris. She was hoping to get inspiration to design something for her boyfriend to help him feel better.
"Now what to use" She sat at some bench. She knew he was allergic to pigeons so she couldn't use real pigeon feathers again.
"Hmmmm... what else?" She kept thinking.
The stripes on his shirt were just his father's design but it gave her an idea for leopard patterns.
"Good idea" Marinette added to her notes.
Soon she saw Adrien approach her, "Hey Adrien"
"Hi. What are you doing out here?" Adrien asked to join with her.
"Just came up with a new design of your shirt, leopard patterns," Marinette said.
"That's new. I mean I always enjoy having the strength of big cats" Adrien said, looking at her design.
"Thank you," Marinette said.
"You were right that writing stuff in a journal scrapbook really does help express my life. I just thought it was a girl thing" Adrien said.
"It's not always a girl thing and it's called diary as well," Marinette said.
"Yeah, without us you'd be all alone," Marinette said.
"And that's my darkest fear, love. I was alone for a year but not anymore. I don't know what I do without you" Adrien held her hand.
"You're the kindest and most selfless boy there is," Marinette said.
Unaware that Lila was spying on them, she informed Gabriel that Adrien was becoming strongly bonded with Marinette.
"Yes, they are at the park, Mr. Agreste," She said quietly.
"Make sure my son does not get attached to her. If you fail again, it's over!" Gabriel yelled through the alliance ring.
"You got it" Lila hung up to set her plan in motion.
She came across a civilian who admired the new female avatar of Kagami in the alliance ring and it was like he supported the Adrigami shipping.
"Hello there" She got his attention.
"Hi. Weren't you the avatar from the alliance?" The civilian asked.
"I was until I got replaced," Lila said.
"What?" The civilian asked.
"By that girl over there with Adrien. She ensured I got fired" Lila lied.
"No way! I thought Adrien could bond with Kagami" The civilian said.
"But she is forcing him to be with him," Lila said.
The Akuma came flying in and touched the civilian's watch.
