"hello junnie!" jaemin exclaimed, pecking renjun's lips quickly as soon as the chinese opened the door, surprising him.

"h-hello." renjun flushed as jaemin entered the house.

"good morning junjun." jeno smiled, catching renjun off-guard with a second peck on his lips before following jaemin inside mark's and renjun's house.

renjun stayed dumbfounded in the doorway, lips puckered, the feeling of his two crushes' lips still ghosting over his own.

"do you plan on guarding the door all day?" mark woke him up from his trance.

"huh..." renjun blinked multiple times, staring at his best friend mouth agape. "t-they..."

"kissed you. i know. donghyuck saw everything and can't stop jumping around the house." mark smiled. "man-up and tell them you like them back already. make your relationship official."

renjun nodded.

"and close the door now. they are waiting for you in the living room."

renjun and mark joined jaemin, jeno and donghyuck who were having a drink in the living room while chatting.

"junnie! come sit with us!" jaemin sing-sang pulling the hicnese boy between jeno and him.

mark smiled at the sight and sat next to his boyfriend, kissing his temple softly.

"haechan is still outside?" jeno asked knowing donghyuck's allergy.

mark and renjun exchanged worried looks.

"ye- "

"no, there was a tragic accident yesterday night." donghyuck cut the two best friends.

mark tightened his embrace around donghyuck, but he continued his speech anyway.

"what?" jaemin furrowed his brows.

"haechan was hit over by a car when jisung and i were heading back home. mark, renjun, jisung and i brought him to the vet the quickest possible. but sadly, she couldn't do anything."

"oh my god..." jeno has his mouth hanging open.

"so... he's dead?" jaemin asked.

mark caressed donghyuck's thigh gently.

"yeah. he left us..."

"he'll always stay in our hearts though." renjun added quickly.

"i will be like he never really left." mark nodded, leaning his head on donghyuck's shoulder.

jaemin hugged renjun, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. "that's so sad... he will be missed..."

"yeah." jeno nodded, head hung low, his hand in between renjun's small ones.

donghyuck smiled seeing how his 'death' affected the others. it felt good to see how the others cared about him, but at the same time, he didn't want them to feel sad about it. he wasn't really dead in the first place.

"guys, he's dead, but that's how things go. i'm sure he wouldn't like to see you all sad about it. so instead of being all dull, we should remember the good times we had with him!" donghyuck smiled.

"why are we in a park again?" mark groaned, walking behind renjun, jaemin, jeno and donghyuck who were laughing at some squirrels fighting over a piece of bread.

"because chenle and jisung asked us to meet them there." renjun turned around to reply. mark rolled his eyes.

"couldn't we do that somewhere with walls and a roof?"

"hide your joy." renjun snorted.

"what's the problem with parks anyway?" jaemin asked.

mark crossed his arms over his chest. "they're full of people and pigeons."

"and you don't like them..." jeno finished.

donghyuck giggled at his boyfriend's behaviour. "i'll chase pigeons away for you! that's something i love to do." he said, rubbing his head against mark's shoulder.

even though donghyuck had been turned into a human, he still had his cat instincts. some of his actions seemed weird to jeno and jaemin, because he didn't really act like a human. he acted more like a cat, chasing birds and rubbing his head against things for example. but it's not like they were very attentive to donghyuck. their attention was more on renjun actually.

"guys!" someone yelled from afar.

renjun recognized the voice immediately. it was chenle's.

"chenle! jisung!" renjun yelled back, agitating his arms so that they could see them.

"d-don't tell me they are coming with- "

"aww!" jaemin exclaimed when chenle and jisung arrived next to them.

"hey guys!" jisung smiled.

"woof! woof!"

"ahh!" donghyuck yelled, jumping in mark's arms.

jisung had come with jupiter and neptune. his two dalmatians. the same two dogs that had almost eaten donghyuck alive the last time they had seen each other.

donghyuck didn't really have a fear of dogs, but let's say he wasn't in really good terms with those two.

"i see donghyuck is afraid of dogs..." jeno said. "he's more a cat-person."

mark, renjun, donghyuck and jisung looked at him immediately, trying to understand why he had said that and how he had deduced that.

seeing the sudden attention he had received, jeno raised a brow.

"your kinks. remember i saw him with cat ears sleeping on your chest after on hell of a night?" jeno told.

the four boys started breathing peacefully again – donghyuck even blushed because of the nasty comments – and got back to their previous conversation.

"so donghyuck, you prefer cats?" chenle inquired.

the boy in mark's arms nodded shyly, his eyes never leaving the two hungry beasts that were tied to their leashes, in jisung's hand.

their afternoon went pretty well.

donghyuck eventually managed to get off mark and to sit down on the grass, on the opposite side of the dogs, but still.

he had almost forgotten they were here.

the seven boys were playing and laughing as the dogs slept next to them.

it was pretty peaceful. nothing to disturb them.

well, nothing until a cat passed and donghyuck decided to take it on his lap, becoming the principal interest of jupiter and neptune who were now perfectly awoken.

and what could donghyuck do other from picking the poor cat up and running as fast as he could?

right. nothing.

so that's what he did.

oh god... how much he hated dogs.
