Matrix's P.O.V.

It's been about a year since King Enji was crowned and closed the gates. I didn't like the closed gates. Everyday for the past year I've been trying to escape the gates. The guards caught me every time. "By the light of the candle Matrix you're going to get yourself in trouble one of these days," Dory said. "I get myself in trouble all the time Dory I think this will be one of the minimal things I do," I said. "Matrix sweetie. You can come down now," Mingyo said. She was referring to be hanging by my legs on the chandelier. I unlocked my legs and fell to the ground. I wasn't hurt. Much. "Okay. So the gates are closed. But it's for good reason," James said. "PLEASE! The closed gates are a pain in my ass," I said. "Well it's for the best that they're closed. I mean I saw it coming," Nico said. "We know," We all said in unison. "Anyway Matrix. The gates being closed are to prevent us from meeting the same fate as Touya," Aliyah said. "But no one knows what happened to Touya so how can the same thing happen to me," I said. "Dude calm down," Bito said. I looked at them. Bito being non-binary didn't like it when I didn't call them a they/them. "Okay look I know that safety from people who would want to use our Gifts for evil is alright. But-," I was saying. "Knew there would be a 'but'," Siren said. "But I don't see how closing the gates for good when we have the Veil to protect us," I ranted. "Good point good point. Counter point: What if the Veil falls?" Dory said. We all looked at Dory with an 'are you fucking stupid' look. "It's a possibility," Dory said. "Oh god look at the time. We're gonna be late for Geo's ceremony," Siren said. "Ugh. Fine," I said.

We got to the Main Hall. I saw Denki and waved a bit. Denki waved back. I chuckled. Siren elbowed me. I payed attention to the ceremony. "May I present: Lady Kyandoru the Keeper of the Candle and Guardian of Castle History," King Enji said. "Thank you your majesty," Lady Kyandoru said. The lantern that hung from the ceiling came down and opened. Kyandoru took the candle out of the lantern. "Many years ago a sorceress ran from her village to keep safe this magic candle from people who wanted it's power. For the candle once lit would bless the one who lit it with a miracle. The sorceress brought the candle here to Gifted Glen where she lit it as a last resort. Once she lit the candle this castle was created. It came to life with magic. Then we the Gifted appeared around the nearby villages and kingdoms. The sorceress led us to this castle and helped us with our Gifts. The sorceress then became the first Queen of our castle. Now tonight we celebrate Geo getting his Gift," Lady Kyandoru said. Geo was next to Lady Kyandoru. Geo approached a blank door and touched the handle. The door glowed and gained his image with an image of his Gift. "This is a sign that Geo's Gift is being able to control rocks," Lady Kayndoru said.
