FEAR is the most Paralysing, Painful and Debilitating Emotion! I have written this poem from a point of view of a child...In the end you can defeat fear by refusing to be fearful.

The ghastly ghost lurks around
As panic grips me...
Mom says," you are crazy"
Dad snaps,"can't you see, I am busy?"

Through out the day, anxiety prevails;
Who will listen to my silent wails?
When will the the fairy appear?
To make him disappear.

Fear fails to retreat;
It hovers, as a formidable foe
Will angels rid me of the woe?

I sleep, fatigued and spent
To wake up with nightmare
There's no end to the despair

They say, It is just a figment
It's real, I scream,
Bursting through my veins;
Ripping me through the core,
like an ailment

Abandoned and disowned
I am on my own
And now I decide
This demon I shall fight,
With all my might
I smiled defiantly and fear walked away.

Children should not be raised to be paralysed by fear. Teach them pain is okay, it happens and it doesn't have to be traumatic.
What children need is love, respect, attention, lots of praise, hugs, kindness, understanding and above all ACCEPTANCE.
