Dammit
"Dammit Jackson!!" Growled Jungkook. He was sifting through yet another file. Another shred of evidence to point to someone other than Tae. But every damn file pointed to him. Every last finger print. Down to his fucking saliva... or was it tears.
What's worse... the realization of the apology letters. Jungkook knew that boys handwriting like the back of his hand. His head ached from all the evidence and the details. The details of how he ripped these people to shreds.
His head dropped into his hands as he fought back tears. He just couldn't believe Tae could do such a thing.
"I'm sorry Jeon... there's nothing else." Jackson sighed making his exit while Jungkook sobbed into his hands. He wasn't good with the water works of others. He tried a few times but it never ended well.
He dug his fists into his leather jacket strolling down the street. It was way past curfew but he didn't care. He was certain the killer was resting cuffed to a bed in a hospital. Jungkook was beside himself thinking that his husband was innocent. Jackson couldn't find a shred of evidence to prove that. So, he walked away with a heavy heart for his friends.
One of the lights flickered at the end of the street. The cool air sending a chill through him as he drew near to it. Something moved in the bushes instantly putting him on alert.
"Who's there?" Jackson demanded reaching for his sidearm. The cold metal ready to go to work.
The bushes rustled some more then a low guttural growl came from somewhere behind him. His pistol shot out the holster as he jerked himself to see behind him. The empty street with the flickering light cast an eerie vibe in the night. But there was no sign of what gave him such a fright. With a trembling hand he lowered his weapon. Only to feel teeth rip into his neck, his warm blood spilling all over his white v neck t-shirt.
He could feel the creature tugging at his flesh while he stared helplessly up at the light. Flashes of his life played on repeat before him. Jackson's hand twitched once more to get his weapon. But, he had no strength to grab it.
In the distance he heard a few gunshots pop off and the quick movement of feet, the hiss of the creature, and then Jungkook yelling.
Before everything went dark. Jackson found himself thinking that maybe... Tae was innocent after all.
"Hang in there Jackson... help is on the way." Jungkook said as put direct pressure on the open neck wound of his friend. What was that thing?
How is it connected to Tae and was it enough to clear his name?
The innocence of this world is being consumed by the monsters hidden in the dark. We can try to protect them. To steer them in the direction that will keep them safe. But in the end... we can't save them all.
