Case File No. 103
Date: 6 / 13 / 20XX
Location: Wallish Wayboard Street, Building 404
Crimes committed: First- or second-degree murder, kidnapping, and most likely torture
Staff assigned: Devlin Fujihara, Eli Wells, Alia Rodriguez, and Kalm Clover
Victim: Veronica Reelse, 24, Female

Notes: Body was found on the rooftop of building 404 on Wallish Wayboard Street. The body was reported to be dead when a local spotted birds feeding on the corpse through their window in the apartment next door. Neither witnesses nor locals stated that there was a murderer at the scene. The body has three bullet marks, one in the head and two others in the chest. The victim seemed to be dead for, at most, a day.

"As you can see from the file case, there isn't much to go off of," the head chief said to the top four detectives in their district. "The victim was long dead before it was reported as there weren't enough witnesses to make a conclusion. Thus, the reason why you four were called here. We need our best on the front lines if we want this murder case to be done and over with."

The head chief opened the door, and the four detectives were met with a murder scene. Cautionary tapes were set up, blood littered the floor in a line as a big puddle settled in the middle of everything, and the victim was already being wrapped up by medics. One detective grimaced at the sight of blood as the rest of the three could only shrug it off, not really caring.

"What an ugly scene to see. I can't believe that the murderer was this messy with their work."

Alia Rodriguez was the third-best detective in the district. Her knowledge of knowing how blood gets from one place to another, along with her hyper fixation on her job, is what makes her one of the best in most cases. Her burning brown hair would have been messed up in the wind if the detectives were not forced to wear hair coverings. However, her disinterest in severely messy areas is what drags her down from being number one. Not only that, but her assertive and fierce personality is disliked by the company.

"Does the mess really matter that much to you? If you can't handle it just leave. Leave the messy bits for the better detectives."

Eli Wells, he is just under the first place for being best detective. Although he is known to be a jokester and a smart mouth, he is one of the best interrogators, along with the best clue finder for any sort of crime scene. His sharp blue eyes continuously searched for a clue that wasn't found in the murder scene. His cocky personality is overlooked by others because of his blonde lion-like hair, and flirtatious acts. However, his carefreeness with his job always keeps him in second place.

"I am top three for a reason, Wells," Alia scoffed, "You are so annoying, all of the time."

Eli narrowed his eyes at the slightly taller woman, "If I'm so annoying then why am I in the top two, huh? Just admit that I'm better than you."

"If it wasn't illegal, I would've punched you right now."

"Now, now, please calm down you two," the Chief said, his broom mustache covering his mouth. "You've both been bickering all the way here. Please, it's time to get serious on this matter."

"Chief is right," a new voice spoke up from the group of detectives. "Your bickering has been nonstop, it's starting to give me a headache."

The Chief could only shake his head at the black-haired detective. "You're not helping, Mr. Fujihara."

Devlin Fujihara sits at number one for the detective ranking in the department. He gets the job done, no matter how hard the crime case is. It almost seems like he has no weaknesses, which is the reason he stays in his number one place. His eyes always seemed to be narrow in thought, making it almost impossible to know what he was thinking behind his obsidian eyes that match his black hair. He is blunt with his words, barely sugarcoating them to victims' relatives. The dark circles under his eyes seem to give him more character than just as a detective.

"Pardon me, Chief, but I just couldn't help myself," Devlin stated with a shrug, making the head Chief only sigh at the bluntness of his staff.

"You're just mad that you didn't have your coffee today, Fujihara. I bet you would've been ten times nicer to little old me," Eli lightly teased as he fixed the glove on his hands.

"Can we not do this right now? All you've been doing is just arguing with each other, since we got into the station, the car, and on the ride here. Wouldn't it be better if we can focus on the job, please?"

Kalm Clover, fourth of being the top detectives. Although he does not go out on cases much, all the cases that he does do are completed way before the deadline. His hazel eyes were slanted but it showed that he was willing to work with anyone in order to get a job done. His leadership in all of his missions is admired in the department, along with his amazing sense of responsibility. However, his talent is always overlooked because of Devlin's, Alia's, and Eli's natural talent, which causes him to be stuck in fourth place and unable to move up.

"Whatever, number 4," Eli scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Just let the real detectives do the work around here, and you let your pretty-self do whatever you please. Go sit in the corner or something. Just stay out of my way, alright?"

"And you need to keep that pretty mouth of yours shut," Alia said, making Eli's attention go to her. "Keep talking like that and maybe, just maybe, you'll go down to being fourth and I'll finally take second."

Eli physically cringed and shivered at the fact that Alia could get ahead of him. "And let Clover be number three? I don't think so. Besides, what makes you think I will be able to back down from my position? You'll have to kill me first in order to get it."

Kalm sighed at his position being seen as the lower rank, even though it was just as good as first, second, and third place. He could only shake his head as he tried to get rid of the negative words that Alia and Eli had said about him. He honestly just has to worry about them always and constantly fighting with one another. If this keeps up it might cause a problem. Plus, it was starting to get annoying.

"Anyways," Kalm sighed, as he turned to the head chief, "are there any other clues or hints about the loose murder? Not even a fingerprint or strand of hair we could find?"

The Chief perked up when he heard the questions directed at him. "No, there was nothing that we could find. The murder was completely invisible when this happened. Honestly, if I was a normal citizen, I would've been scared to death."

"How about murder weapons? Was there any that was found?"

The Chief shook his head. "Not that I know of, kid."

"Geez..." Kalm picked at the gloves that were on his hands. "...This one will be a bit of a tough one."

"That's why Chief wanted us to do it," Devlin spoke up as he walked to where both the Chief and Kalm were talking at. "Isn't that right, sir?"

The chief couldn't help but laugh. "Of course. I want the best of the best be on this case, that's why all four of you are here. Now get to it, the case won't solve itself."

"Yes sir," both Kalm and Devlin said as they both went their separate way around the murder scene.

Kalm wandered around the roof top, checking every little detail that he could take in. The blood lingered from the roof door to where the middle of the roof was, it could barely even make it to the edge to let the victim be seen by anyone below. The blood was also dried up, another hint to that the victim was killed long before any of the witnesses saw. It was splattered almost everywhere where the body was found first. It would have been a horrible sight to see if the victim was shot at that second.

Kalm noticed that the other three were also wondering about the roof top looking for even the smallest of clues. They would pick up small pieces that they would think were a clue so that it would be observed later in the lab. Kalm couldn't help but feel a bit useless since he did not see anything that he, himself, thought was a clue to the mission. However, he had to shake the feeling off as he was on the job and needed to get things done. He decided to look at the victim that was killed during the incident.

The victim was a woman, as stated in the file. Her skin was paling white as her cheeks were sunken in since she was pronounced dead way before the authorities got there. She was wearing a light pink night gown as a pearl necklace relaxed around her neck. Her arms and legs were decorated in small scars and cuts here and there, as her elbows were bruised up. Her wrist was almost sliced as it was dirty with dust and dirt as blood dripped from her hands, down.

'Veronica Reelse, someone who is not that much younger than me or the others here,' Kalm thought to himself. He looked at Alia and Eli who were walking around the roof, and Devlin checking the blood on the floor with the Chef beside him, 'It's a shame to see someone as young as us die already at this age.'

Something shiny in the corner of Kalm's eyes caught his attention. He quickly looked at the shiny object and noticed that it was a ring. Knowing that it may be important to the investigation, Kalm was quick to put the ring on a small bag to look at later. The ring was surprisingly clean as there was no blood anywhere near it. Kalm knew that he would have to investigate more.

"I found something!" The shout of Alia made everyone turn to her.

Alia was running to the middle of the roof as she held an object covered with a light tanned cloth. Behind her, Eli was running after her, red in the face as he seemed to be angry with what Alia had done. Everyone, including the Chief and the other two detectives, went up to where Alia was at. Some of the muttering of the medics and others could be heard amongst the large group. Eli, however, looked like he was ready to explode into a yelling fit at Alia.

"I was the one who found it!" Eli claimed as he pushed past the group to get next to Alia. "All you did was follow me!"

Alia couldn't help but roll her eyes. "I was the one who found it. You may have led both of us to the location, but I looked in the right place. Besides..." She slowly began to unwrap the clothing. "...everyone else knowing what this is, is way more important than your pride."

Under the cloth was a Glock with a silencer on it and a bit of blood. Everyone's eyes slightly widened at the weapon before them. Whispering and muttering was heard in the group as some were stunned in silence. Devlin and the Chief were finally able to push through the crowd and stare at the gun in Alia's hands. Kalm glanced at the slight lateness of the Chief before looking back at the once-carefully wrapped gun.

"The gun was wrapped and hidden under some other blankets." Alia explained. "Wells was searching for the other side of where I was because there was also some blood there. I have a feeling that there is more to this murder scene than what we see here."

"Well won't you look at that." Devlin whispered to himself, but he was still heard amongst the crowd. "The murder weapon was found."

Eli then spoke up, "To think that the murderer hid the weapon so that not even the Chief could find it. Although it is common, it seems like the murderer might actually have a brain in this case."

Kalm could only narrow his eyes at the sight of the gun. He couldn't help but think that the gun was something that he'd seen before. However, he couldn't exactly put his finger to where he had seen the gun before. But he knows for sure that he and the others were at least one step closer to the murderer on their hands. He just has to see if he can put up with Alia's and Eli's constant fighting and criticizing him.
