Too Cliche

"Sirana?" Sirius scoffed. I rolled my eyes.

"I know, right?"

"I actually kind of like it," james said, walking in, "Sirana. As a cool ring to it." I shook my head.

"You have strange friends," I said to Sirius.

"I have weird friends? Your friends mashed our names together then got a guy three months detention for drinking," Sirius said. I shurgged.

"My friends are cool."

"Mine are cooler."

"Nu-uh."

"Yeah-huh."

"Hey Evans, someday you and I are going to be like that," I heard James' voice say. I cringed. Sirius and I turned slowly, sliding off the couch. Our eyes peered over the top of the couch, hoping Lily's wrath wouldn't reach us.

Lily glared at James. A scoff came from her mouth.

"Please, we're not even friends," she said.

"Ouch," Sirius breathed. I grimaced.

"I like to think we're friends," James mubled. Lily's bemused voice and face turned cold.

"We will never be friends, let alone more than friends. You hung my fri...Snape by his ankle. You've bullied people, you've pushed people around. It's your fault my best friend is a werewolf," she snapped. I slid farther down the couch, so not even my eyes were above the couch. Sirius followed my lead.

"That's gotta hurt," I whispered. I heard Lily storm upstairs.

"What are you guys doing down there?" James asked, trying to hold a grin. We looked up at him from our curled positions at the foot of the couch. I stood up.

"I'm going to talk to Lily," I said, sending a glance at Sirius, who nodded. I walked upstairs. Our dorm room was shut. I lifted my hand to knock, when I heard Lily crying. It reminded me of when Sev called her a mudblood. I grabbed the doorknob and twisted it, pushing the door open slightly. Lily was sitting on the edge of her bed, hunched over, shoulders shaking wildly.

The floor creaked.

"Go away James," Lily whimpered. I smiled.

"James can't walk up these stairs, he's a boy," I said. Lily turned.

"Oh, Rani," she said.

'You dissapointed?" I asked, sitting next to her. She shrugged, sniffleing.

"I heard what you said to James. I was wondering why you keep pushing him away. You obviously like him," I said. She glanced up at me.

"It's that obvioius?" she asked.

"I've known you a very long time, of course it it," I said. I put a hand on her shoulder.

"Do you remember in fourth year when you said you didn't want to be with Sirius because you were afraid?"

"Don't remind me."

"I guess that's how I feel. But sort of different. I'm not afraid of him breaking up with me. I'm afraid that he won't like me,." I gaped at her.

"He loves you, Lil! It's like, the most obvious thing ever," I said, slightly shocked that she would say something like that. She grimaced.

'But he hasn't really seen the way I act around you an Jinxy and Alice and Marlene. He sees what I look like during school. But what if he doesn't like the way I laugh or the way I act with my friends or the way I look when I wake up in the morning? What if he doesn't like me?" She cried. I rubbed her back.

'He does, Lily, you just don't see it."

"When are we going to tell Dumbledore we want to help him?" Lily asked me a week later. I shrgged.

"When the time is right." I said.

"How will we know?"

"We just will."

"SERANA! I CAME UP WITH THE PERFECT IDEA IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!" Marlene screamed, running over to us. The few people in the Great Hall turned towards her.

"Go back to eating," she snapped. She sat across from me.

"What is your perfect idea, Marlene?" I asked. Lily grinned, she seemed to know something about this 'perfect idea'.

"We all, once we get boyfriends, should inscribe all of our initials a whole bunch of places everywhere. Like the Common Room, our dorms, the Whomping Willow, our favourite classes, a carriage, a compartment, and on the outside of the Hogwarts Express. That way, we left a mark here and our kids can see it," she said. I nodded.

"That's actually a pretty good idea. But what if our children don't get into Gryffindor?" I asked.

"One of them is bound to. Plus, that's why it's all over, so it's not just in the Common Room," she said, quickly adding, "But we should do it next year, just because this year sounds like a bad idea."

I shrugged. I like it.

"Lets do it."

*Yeah! Filler chapters......so boring*
