The Laboratory was bustling with scientists, each engrossed in their specific tasks. The head scientist and head guard stood at the control panel, discussing the project.

"So, what's next? I don't think the project is complete yet," said the head guard.

"You're right. It's a biological weapon, and we need to test it on stronger animals," explained the head scientist. "But before that, we need to make some adjustments. Gather all the newbies here."

The young and inexperienced scientists gathered, clutching their notebooks and pens as the head scientist tapped on a touch screen, displaying a presentation.

"Take notes. Remember what we did in the past days?"

"We attempted to make the specimen absorb the requested DNA."

"And what was the purpose?"

"At first, it was to allow it to shapeshift into different creatures based on the absorbed DNA, but later, it was about enabling it to utilize the abilities of the absorbed DNA."

"Good, you're paying attention. However, it turned out to be a bit... Selective."

"Sir, what do you mean by 'selective'?"

"It only picked certain abilities while discarding the others."

"Can't we somehow force it to absorb the other abilities?"

"That's the challenge - it lacks a brain and relies solely on instincts."

An awkward silence filled the room until someone spoke up with a question.

"Sir, I have a question."

"Yes, go ahead."

"You mentioned this project is to create a biological weapon. What kind of weapon exactly? A spreading disease or something else?"

"To answer that... The government can be quite... Childish? They wanted a biological weapon, a 'monster' for warfare purposes."

"But sir, isn't it a bit small for a monster?"

"That's where its interesting ability comes into play. Luckily, it picked up one fascinating trait."

"What is it?"

"The more biological matter it consumes, the stronger and larger it becomes. And don't worry, it doesn't relate to hunger, so you don't need to fear it eating you."

"Now, testing begins. Release the Subfish."

The fish-like creature was dropped into the test tube where the starfish creature resided. It was of a similar size to the starfish.

Upon the sudden movement, the starfish creature promptly vanished, exhibiting what seems to be Photokinesis – the ability to become invisible. The head scientist instructed, "Use the scanner to confirm its presence for safety purposes."

"Yes sir, it's still there," replied one of the scientists, observing the invisible creature on a screen at the control panel. The starfish creature swam stealthily near the larger creature while remaining hidden. Unexpectedly, it shot a web-like substance from its mouth, trapping the fish against the glass.

The fish flailed desperately as the starfish creature latched onto it and swiftly devoured it whole. As it consumed the fish, its body expanded and underwent a transformation, growing larger than before and even developing two eyes on its body. It was an overwhelmingly one-sided fight.

The head scientist approached the test tube and affectionately patted the glass where the creature was. "Good boy, now let's test this." He pressed a button near the tube, releasing white teeth and nails into the enclosure. The creature swallowed them.

"Now, let's see how your instincts use what you've been given," the head scientist remarked, observing the creature's behavior closely.
