You may think she sounds like a savage, left to run wild and never learn anything. But you can learn so much through nature and Z has learnt that to survive you have to be strong, and strong she is. She can out run, out swim, out ride, out shoot, any boy in her Province. But also through nature, she has learnt the meaning of true beauty, how it is not artificial and painted on, but it is genuine, unpretentious and kind, and she embraces that.

Z has never put makeup on, or splashed across her face ruby red stains or tried to darken her eyelashes, and she has never worn a dress or a jewel in her life. She prefers to wear something she can vault onto the back of a horse with and not worry about flashing anything.

Z has spent her life exploring, and has always wanted to read and explore worlds which only lived through 24 letters. When she was around ten, a priest showed her the way of words and she began to devour books and anything written which she could lay her hands on.Now she learns through words, and has begun to strength her mind as well as her body. Now she is conflicted.Her life in the wild has taught her to be stronger than anyone or anything else, because the weak ones dies, and romance is a sign of the weak, but those books which talk of beautiful strangers and sweet, tender kisses full of romance, or dark haired, blue eyes boys who do anything for the princess he loves. She doesn't know what to pick, the law of the wild, or the laws of romance.

Because of this, Z hates everything to do with the whole selection, but because apparently, she is "the prettiest thing I have ever seen" she was sent to the Capital, only because the people who sent her said that they would give money to her still living parents.

• Background•

Born into a unloving family, Z was hardly looked after in her child years, left instead to wander about on her own. Because of this, she is very strong-willed and hates even the thought of being "caged up". Z never really spent much time indoors, or eating anything but raw vegetables which she grew and harvested, sometimes also burnt meat which her mother threw at her.
