Alasdair Corellia was more than content with his position in life, so sure of who he was and where he stood. Head of the guard and bonded partner to the heir of the throne of Asterius, he knew his role in life was to serve others and fight with valor. As a Kallrynion, he was met with some opposition from the people he served, as, long ago, his people were enslaved by the Asterion, but he cared not for the ways of the old, focused solely on the present, much to the dismay of his partner who begged him to find someone to care for in a way that the two could never fully care for each other.

Unfortunately, the universe never took kindly to stability and Alasdair's world came crumbling down in the form of a surprise attack from the Setera. Their planet in flames and their king and queen presumed dead, the people were forced to flee, Alasdair forced into the last escape pod by his bonded partner, the one he had sworn to protect, who, using what little energy he had left, cast a spell for Alasdair to go to the ends of the universe where only he could find him again.

It was because of this spell that Alasdair found himself on Sakaar, on the far reaches of the galaxy, forgotten by many and ruled by a being older than time itself. In an attempt to keep himself alive, Alasdair reinvents himself, adapting to what the Grandmaster wanted so as to stay out of the gladiator ring. Life as one of the Grandmaster's special friends wasn't too terrible, though Alasdair couldn't help but count the days until something changed.

Enter Loki Laufeyson, a quick witted and charming trickster that gave Alasdair a run for his money, weaseling his way into the Grandmaster's favor as quickly as Alasdair himself did. Intrigued, the two seek each other out, pressed into dark corners and shadows, learning more about the other than they had ever expected, threatening to expose the other to the Grandmaster at any moment, yet wanting nothing more than to find solace with the only other being on Sakaar who seemed to understand what it was like to lose everything. But as time runs out and control begins to unravel, the two find that quick wit can only go so far, and sometimes it takes more than one to come out on top.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

This has been in the works since January, you guys, this is so cathartic to finally get it out, you have no idea. If you recognize Alasdair, that's because he's a pretty important character in my Thor fic 'Amor Vincit' which is the fic Kaipo is from, and while you don't need to read his story, keep in mind that they'll be intertwining in Part Two and Kaipo does play a heavy role in Alasdair's life. As for Atia, she's the main OC in my Valkyrie fic, and she'll be playing a key role in both Part One and Part Two.

This story is going to be a little more...I don't want to say more mature than my other stories, because it's still PG-13, it's just a little more mature, I'd say PG-16, if you get my drift? Like there's nothing explicit and it won't be often, but I'm of the belief that Loki definitely seduced the Grandmaster to some extent while he was in Sakaar, and that'll play a role in Alasdair's arc as well, so I think we can infer what I'm talking about, but I won't be writing any of that, at least not in complete specifics.
