"Why didn't anyone tell us?" Celeste asked.
"Dumbledore, Hagrid, Mr. Weasley, Cornelius Fudge...the Minister of Magic knew!" complained Harry. He was going through a wave of emotions.
The golden question: why hasn't no one mentioned that Harry's parents and Celeste's mum had died because their best friend and brother-in-law betrayed them.
Celeste sat at the Gryffindor table close to Harry. Many murmured about the way that the boy who lived had his arm wrapped around the girl who lived.
Lately, he's been snappy about those who have been giving Celeste looks of sympathy because of Sirius Black, though some would glare at her because of her relationship with Sirius Black.
Ron and Hermione watched them both throughout dinner, wondering what to do. The two debated on whether they should bring Celeste's two friends; Theo and Blaise.
Later that night Celeste walked through the Slytherin common room to the corridor leading to the Girls Dormitory. Celeste loved how Snakes valued their privacy, hence why they all had individual rooms.
"Cece wait up, cmon' you've been quiet all afternoon and you sat with the Lions instead with us," Blaise complained.
It wasn't until Theo noticed the puffy eyes. Immediately he became protective and a bit furious. Who made her cry? Was it that Potter boy?
"What happened?" Blaise also asked, shocked.
"I...My ─ my uncle Sirius was responsible for the Potter's death...and my mum's." Celeste blinked back the tears.
"H─How did you figure that out? Surely that can't be true." Theo opened the door to her room. Celeste was glad nobody saw the two go into her room, who knows what Pansy Parkinson might say.
"So what are you going to do now?" the three on the small sofa in front of the fireplace.
"Harry and I might consider..."
"Going after him? Are you crazy?" Blaise worried that going out to find Sirius Black is a death wish. "You are going to get yourself hurt Celeste."
Celeste frowned and stared deeply at the fire. "I lost everything, that night. My dad isn't in the picture because he walked out on my mum or whatever. I lost the woman that brought me to this world. If it wasn't for Sirius Black being the Secret Keeper, my mum would've been alive. So would Harry's parents.
"Sirius Black isn't worth losing your life, Celeste."
"I know!"
The boy's sullen expression twisted into a mix of awe and confusion, "What?"
She took a deep breath as she played with her fingers nervously. "I know....I'm not a violent person...yes I want to kill him, but deep down I feel like something is wrong. If Sirius Black, James Potter, and my mum got along like siblings, then why would my Uncle betray them? It doesn't make any sense."
The three exchanged troubled grimaces and decided to call it a night.
"I'm worried about her," Blaise whispered once they closed the door shut. The boys insisted on staying in her room until she fell asleep. Celeste barely looked like she got any sleep at the Hospital Wing.
They left unaware of the fact that Harry James Potter was hiding under his invisibility cloak. He knocked on the door five times to signal that he was here to visit.
"Come in Harry."
Harry walked in and shut the door. He removed the invisibility cloak. The Potter resembled a similar state to his childhood friend.
"I was thinking of maybe visiting Hagrid tomorrow and asking why he didn't say anything about Black when he told us about our parents." Harry began, sitting down at the foot of her bed, making sure to avoid Leo.
Leo leaped on Harry's lap and sat down.
Celeste peeked up from her bed covers, "That sounds like a good reason...I'm sure Hagrid had a reason."
A groan escaped his lips making Celeste raise a brow, "What is it?"
"Hermione and Ron think that going after Sirius Black is a bad idea."
"I hate to admit it Harry but they're kind of right." Celeste sighed. "He's dangerous. But I don't think I want to be a murderer. I just want to know why he did it."
Celeste looked out her window where instead of a pretty night sky, she saw dark waters.
"I still can't believe your rooms are under a lake," grumbled Harry. He thought it was the coolest thing when it comes to living in the dungeons despite having a bat as the Head of Slytherin.
"It's getting pretty late, you can sleep on the sofa." Celeste gestured to the sofa by the fireplace.
Harry shook his head, "I can get back ─ "
The door knocks making Celeste and Harry freeze. Immediately Harry went for his invisibility cloak as she went for the door and opened it.
It was Diana Johnson wearing her classic smirk, "Princess,"
"Lady Snake," Celeste mocked before grinning like a madwoman. They embraced for a couple of moments and pulled apart.
"The Greasy haired dungeon bat wanted me to deliver these. Oh, and make sure you guys are quiet...we don't want the girls in this area getting the wrong idea."
Harry removed his invisibility cloak and rolled his eyes, "It's not like that." he blushed. "Hey Diana..." he gulped in fear. He wouldn't lie and say that he found the second Johnson terrifying.
Angelina Johnson was like the blazing sun while Diana was the moon who only appeared when she wanted to be seen. But Harry couldn't deny the fact that he saw Diana as a nice friend.
"Sup Potter, are you feeling alright after the whole Dementor thing? I'm still pissed about the fact that they got near Celeste." Diana rambled as she handed the letters to Celeste.
"Y ─ Yeah thank you, I'm feeling fine." Harry's shoulders dropped.
"Dumbledore was off his rocker when he noticed his two golden children passed out." Diana chuckled. It was no secret that Johnson didn't like Dumbledore and Celeste could see what she meant now ever since the Chamber of Secrets.
As for Harry, he didn't really understand why.
Though it seems her blunt honesty and sarcastic remarks seemed to capture the eye of Fred Weasley.
"Stay here for the night, we need to make sure nobody gets hurt like last year..." Diana ordered and shot them a comforting smile.
She shut the door and the both of them sighed in relief.
Thank Salzar it was Diana and not Pansy.
( Parkinson has always tried to get the girl who lived in trouble ).
Celeste went over to her closet and pulled out spare clothing. "I'm sure you are Theo or Draco's size ─ "
Harry choked on his spit and nearly tumbled after hitting the coffee table. "You let Malfoy and those lot sleep in your room?! There are predators!"
"Harry you're a boy."
"That's different!" said Harry, now whispering yelling.
"Draco's my cousin then Theo and Blaise are my best friends, I don't see the problem." shrugged Celeste and handed him the pajama set.
A few minutes later Celeste tucked herself back in bed and Harry slept on the couch. "
"Hey, Cecily?"
"Yeah Harry?"
"Do you think our parents would be alive if Sirius Black wasn't Keeper?"
Celeste paused for a moment to think about it and shifted her body to face Harry. "Voldemort's powerful...I don't think anybody had a chance of taking him out. My mother seemed to be on the same level as him but she focused on saving us."
She casted the light spell and read the contents of the letter.
Dear Celeste,
For some time it took me a lot of courage to write this letter. Usually, I would have Draco tell me about how well your studies are doing and if you are eating well back at home. Draco would always tell me how skinny you are.
That makes me worried.
You may not know me but I know you as the daughter of my cousin Regulus and his wife Reyna.
We all grew up together.
My name is Narcissa Malfoy and I'm your aunt. All I want is a chance to let you get to know me...your paternal side of the family. We didn't know about you until that night your mother died. The whole Black family and Silas De Martel weren't aware of Reyna's pregnancy. We all assumed she went into hiding to mourn over your father's 'death'.
I swear we didn't abandon you Celeste. The news of you and Harry Potter surviving the killing curse was more than enough to want to have you in our arms, safe and protected. I think Draco would've loved having a little sister.
You were supposed to live in the Malfoy manor rather than what you are living in now.
Something tells Celeste that Narcissa was a big angry when to show that sentence, judging by the smeared ink at the world Manor.
It's okay if you can't see us yet, but I want to write letters to you from now on. I want to know all about your journeys throughout Hogwarts and if you need anything, just say the word.
Lucius is sorry about how he left things. He truly does care about you and doesn't know how to show his feelings well.
Celeste traced the signature at the end and blinked. She didn't know to react except feel her an emotion of relief, knowing that she did have family members that wanted her.
The next day Celeste, Harry, Ron, and Hermione marched up the fields to go see Hagrid. When they made it to the door they heard a series of low throbbing sounds.
"Think we'd better go and get someone?" asked Ron nervously.
Celeste shot him a look and glanced at Harry, telling him to knock.
"Hagrid!" called Harry, thumping the door. "Hagrid, are you in there?" there was a sound of heavy footsteps, then the door creaked open. Hagrid stood there with his eyes red and swollen, tears splashing down the front of his leather vest.
"You've heard?" he bellowed, and he flung himself onto Harry's neck. Celeste stumbled back into Ron who held her up.
"Hagrid what is it?" said Hermione aghast. They were watching Hagrid sobbing uncontrollably and felt extremely uncomfortable.
Harry spotted an official-looking letter lying open on the table. "What's this, Hagrid?" Hagrid's sobs redoubled, he shoved the letter toward Celeste.
Celeste grabbed it and read it out loud. "Dear Mr. Hagrid, Further to our inquiry into the attack by a Hippogriff by a student in your class, we have accepted the assurances of Professor Dumbledore that you bear no responsibility for the regrettable incident."
"Well that's okay then Hagrid!" said Ron but another sob left Hagrid.
"However, we must register our concern about the Hippogriff in question. We have decided to uphold the official complaint of Mr. Lucius Malofy, and this matter will therefore be taken to the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures. The hearing will take place on April 20th, and we ask you to present yourself and your Hippogriff at the Committee's office in London on that date. In the meantime, the Hippogriff should be tethered and isolated. You're in the fellowship.
There followed the list of school Governors and Celeste scoffed loudly at the mention of Lucius Malfoy.
Anger flashed in her eyes, "I can't believe him!"
The words engraved in the letter Narcissa wrote slipped Celeste's mind. "This is all his fault." Celeste's spits.
"Cece what's going on?"
Celeste slipped through her robe pockets and pulled out the letter Narcissa Malfoy wrote to her that Diana gave her yesterday night.
Hermione's face washed in sympathy, "Oh Cece, I'm so sorry...she doesn't seem like Mr. Malfoy though."
"I don't care, Draco told his father! And now Hagrid might lose Buckbeak!"
On Christmas morning Celeste levitated her stack of presents to the Gryffindor common room to open with her friends like they've always done every year. Leo the cat was a midnight cat with green eyes. He followed after his owner meowing ever once in a while. She was wearing a shawl to help keep her warm seeing as she was wearing her night dress stil.
"Hey guys!"
"Hey Celeste."
Ron blinked owlishly. "It's not even your birthday and you have this many presents."
Celeste plopped women beside Harry and Ron, "Tell Mrs. Weasley that I hear handmade sweaters always make my day."
"I'll make sure to write to her." said Ron but his eyes wandered to the parcel Harry opened.
"No way! It's a Firebolt ─ Celeste yours is awfully shaped like Harry's."
Celeste opened her parcel to also reveal a note and firebolt.
Your father was quite the Qudditch Seeker himself.
"You don't think it would be from Black would you guys?" frowned Celeste.
The Firebolt was fast and expensive. Only someone from a powerful family with tons of money. Money like Celeste's could afford to buy at least five of those brooms, perhaps more.
"Did you buy Harry one?"
"No...I didn't even buy a broom and I doubt the Malfoys would buy me one." Celeste answered, also confused.
"I bet it was Dumbledore, he sent the invisibility cloak and charm bracelet anonymously."
"Nah it can't be him."
Celeste examined the broom, "Dumbledore wouldn't spend hundreds of Galleons on either of us. Those items belonged to our parents therefore it was passed onto us."
"I know," said Ron, controlling himself over his excitement over the Firebolt. "Lupin!"
"What" said Harry, now laughing to himself. "Lupin? Listen, if he had this much gold, he'd be able to buy himself some new robes."
"Harry James Potter." scolded Celeste Black. She happened to like Remus Lupin and thought that he was the best teacher in existence.
"Yeah but he likes you and Celeste." said Ron. "And he was away when your Nimbus got smashed, and he might've heard about it and decided to visit Diagon Alley and get this for you ─ "
"What d'you mean, he was away?" said ron. "He was ill when I was playing in that match."
Celeste thought for a moment and shook her head. "I don't think it was Professor Lupin Ron."
Hermione comes into view wearing her dressing gown as well. "What are you two laughing about?" she was carrying Crookshanks who looked very grumpy.
Leo purred and leaped onto Celeste's lap. Ron finally noticed the two cats in the room. "Don't bring those two cats here!" he snatched Scabbers.
The midnight cat hissed at Ron.
To his great surprise, Hermione did not appear happy by the news when Harry and Celeste told him that there was no postcard except for Celeste, who also didn't get a signature on her postcard.
"What's the matter with you?"
""I don't know," said Hermione. "But it's a bit odd isn't it? I mean, this is supposed to be quite a goodbroom isn't it?"
"It's the best broom there is Hermione." Ron sighed exasperatedly.
Celeste examined her broom in awe. "Oh it even has my initials on it!" she squealed.
"Oh I can't wait to see Malfoy's face wipe his face in misery realizing that his broom isn't good enough for the Firebolt." Ron was joyous about the whole situation.
The Black was reading the postcard she received over and over again until a yell erupted in the room.
Crookshanks was leaping on Ron's chest as Leo was clawing at his feet. "GET ─ HIM ─ OUT ─ OF ─ HERE!" Ron bellowed as Crookshank's claws ripped his pajamas
Lets just say that the Christmas spirit was toned down a bit after Crookshanks and Leo's attack on Ron.
Lunchtime they had a pleasant time. Celeste sat at her table conversing with Theo and Blaise, and spent her time avoiding Draco.
"You're going to have to talk to me, you know?"
Celeste sighed, "I can't believe your dad." she snorted. "You provoked Buckbeak." she snapped.
"Just don't talk to me Draco, I can't do this right now."
After Lunch she ran into Professor McGonagall who seemed to be talking to Harry.
"Ah Miss Black, I will be needing your broom to strip it down." McGonagall explained
Harry, Ron, and Celeste watched McGonagall carry the Firebolts out of the portrait.
Hermione hid herself behind her book and Ron rounded up on Hermione, "What did you go running to McGonagall for?"
Just like that another fight began.

So a lot of things have happened in this chapter. To start off with, Celeste finally got a letter from Narcissa explaining part of the reason why she wasn't known to the Black family or her grandfather Silas De Martel.
