Carmen's POV

I got up and got changed. I hear my brothers talking and slip out of the house, going to the grill. "Carmen!" Aiden calls and I turn to see him eating with his family.

"Morning Aiden" I say politely.

"Join us" he tells me.

"Why would I intrude on a family breakfast?" I ask him.

"Who is this dear?" his mum asks him.

"Carmen Salvatore, she moved here with her two brothers and is in my class" he explains.

"Aren't you a little young to be in that class?" Mr Lockwood asks me.

"I'm thirteen, but my brothers taught me a lot before I started school. So I got bumped up a couple of grades" I tell him.

"Please join us, I'd love to hear more about your family" Mrs Lockwood states.

"Only if you're sure" I tell her.

"It's fine, sit down" Tyler tells me. I sit down beside Aiden.

"So what happens with the season? One big forfeit? Are they looking for a new coach?" Mr Lockwood asks the boys.

"I don't know, dad" Tyler tells him.

"I doubt anybody's thinking about that right now" Aiden adds.

"Charles, founder's party, focus" Mrs Lockwood tells her husband.

"Founder's party?" I ask Aiden fawning confusion.

"Oh yeah, you're new to town. Every year we have a party celebrating the day it was founded 145 years ago" Aiden explains. "You know, I don't have a date yet" he tells me.

"And I care why?" I ask him.

"Well I thought we could go together, it'd give you an opportunity to learn more about the town's history" he tells me.

"If I go, it'll only be as your friend" I tell him.

"I can live with that, I'll wear you down eventually" he says smiling.

"How are y'all doing over here?" Vicki asks as she appears.

"Ah, we're doing great, sweetheart" Mr Lockwood tells her.

"Is there anything else I can get you?" she asks.

"Ham and cheese toastie would be nice, please" I tell her.

"Along with the check, honey" Mr Lockwood adds.

"I'll pay for myself" I tell her. She nods her head.

"Here you go, Mayor Lockwood" she says handing him the check.

"Thanks" he says and pays for his family. He and Mrs Lockwood leave as Tyler goes to search for Vicki as my food arrives.

"Why aren't you leaving?" I ask Aiden as I take a bite of my sandwich.

"I hoped we could play a game of pool or darts" he tells me.

"You'll lose" I tell him.

"Bet you twenty bucks I won't" he tells me and  I smirk.

"You're on" I tell him and finish my food. I grab a glass of water and we head over to the pool table. He lets me break and the game begins as I hit a big (striped) in. "So whats the deal with your brother and Vicki?" I ask him.

"I don't think they really love each other, I think they're more of friends with benefits. Though neither will admit it" he states. "Then again Tyler gets jealous whenever he sees her talk to another guy" he adds.

"So what should I wear to this party?" I ask him.

"A dress, but nothing to formal. Just a casual party dress" he explains. "Do you want me to pick you up?" he asks me.

"Nah, Stefan or Damon will take me" I tell him.

"Well then I'll meet you at the door" he states. We continue to play and I win, while he still has three balls. "You cheated" he says pouting.

"No, you're a sore loser. Pay up" I tell him and he grumbles handing me twenty bucks. "What to try wing it back in a game of darts?" I ask him sweetly.

"And lose another twenty bucks? No thanks" he grumbles and I giggle. Suddenly my phone begins to ring and I answer it.

"Carmen, where are you?" Damon demands and I roll my eyes.

"At the grill, why?" I ask him.

"I need your helping choosing an outfit for tonight" he states.

"You're going to the founder's party to?" I ask him.

"Are you going?" he asks me.

"Yeah with a friend" I tell him.

"Better not be little Lockwood" he tells me.

"Gotta go, see you there" I say and hang up. "I have to go get ready, meet you at the party" I tell Aiden. I leave and go to Elena's. "Hey do you have a dress I could borrow for the founder's party?" I ask her. She nods her head and leads me to her room. She hands me a dress and I get changed.

"You need shoes too" she tells me gesturing to my sneakers. I nod my head. She gives me a pair of flats and I swap the shoes over. She then goes to get ready as I brush my hair. She returns and offers me a grey cardigan. "Encase it gets cold" she states.

"Thank you" I say and drape it over my arm. I grab my bag as we hear a knock downstairs. We go and see Stefan waiting there for us. We both smile and the three of us go to the Lockwood's house. Where we're let in by Mr Lockwood. Aiden appears and whisks me away from the couple.

"I want to show you something cool" he tells me. He leads me over to the registry. "This is the guest registry from the very first founder's party. Look here" he says pointing to my brother's names. "Stefan and Damon Salvatore, isn't that cool?" he asks me.

"It is, my parents named my brother's after them" I tell him smiling. "I think they hoped they'd be like the original Salvatore brothers and be best friends" I state.

"Aren't they?" he asks me.

"Not really, not since they fell for the same girl" I tell him.

"What happened to her?" he asks me.

"Died in a fire" I say shrugging.

"Well enough talk, lets go dance" he suggests. Before I can answer he drags me onto the dance floor. We dance in time to the music.

"I didn't know you could dance" I say surprised.

"Mum made sure Tyler and I both knew the basics for these parties" he states shrugging. "What about you?" he asks me.

"I was a dancer" I tell him. "Hey, I saw that guy on the new this morning" I say looking at a guy talking to Jenna.

"That's Logan Fell, he's a news reporter. Used to date Jenna back in their high school days" he tells me.

"I don't see the appeal" I tell him and he chuckles. "I'm thirsty" I tell him as we stop dancing. He leads me to the kitchen and pours us each a glass of apple juice.

"So having fun?" he asks me.

"Guess so, not usually invited to these types of parties" I tell him. "So back  to our earlier conversation, I take it your parents wouldn't approve of Tyler dating Vicki?" I ask him.

"You'd assume right, they'd rather him date someone with class and a future" he states.

"Makes sense if they think he'll be mayor one day, dating Vicki would not give him a good image. Not that he has one now, due to his temper" I state.

"Doubt it, Tyler always wanted to go pro at football" he tells me.

"And you don't?" I ask him.

"I enjoy, but I don't see myself doing it as a job" he states. "What about you? Going to become a professional dancer?" he asks me.

"No, I've always wanted to be a vet or doctor" I tell him.

"You really are a nerd" he teases and I shove him playfully smiling.

"Thanks for today, I had fun" I tell him. "Though I should probably go home" I add.

"Sure, see you at school?" he asks and I nod my head. I finish my drink and leave. To see Stefan shutting Damon's trunk and frown.

"What's going on?" I ask him confused.

"I vervained Damon and going to lock him in the cellar" he states.

"I don't know how I feel about this Stefan, he's a brother" I tell him.

"He needs to be taught a lesson" he tells me. I roll my eyes as we get into the car. He drives us back to the house and locks Damon in the cellar. While I went to change out of my party outfit. I wash it deciding to give it back to Elena next time I saw her.
