War in the Heavens

January 10, 2017

***This entry is dedicated to Natascha van Gaal.***

Dear Diary:

"Mama! Mama!"

Luna cried as her mother disappeared into the sky above. The rest of us watched stupefied by what just happened. Seriously, what did just happen? Suddenly, a blinding light enveloped us all and we looked towards it.

"That disgusting, vile, peace of shit; that was the last straw!" Rogue seethed.

Right before our eyes she transformed in the light that hit her from above. Holy.....! If you remember the massive wings and the armor she had when she battled Hestia. Well this was sort of like that only she was in completely white clothing and armor and the wings were twice as large. Instead of that hammer/sword thing, this time she was holding a sword that was long and wide and just shone in the brilliant light.

"Hydra, Gods, and the rest of the Watchers get everyone back to land and keep them secure. I'm going to finish this once and for all!" She barked the orders and without a second glance, zipped into the sky faster than the speed of light.

The ones given the orders did what they were told and before we could say or ask or even blink, we were all high above in the sky. I don't even remember who I flew with or on. I just knew that we touched down near Cupid's castle and ran inside with Ronan holding a sobbing Luna. As I took a chance to check Luna over, the others were mesmerized with the sky as it looked like there were flashes of light in the clouds. Amy than stepped forward and opened a portal for us to see what was going on. We were absolutely all shocked into silence as we watched Rogue fly faster than she ever had and using her sword once she caught up with the fleeing figure, hit him hard with it making him turn around as he spun out of control.

We all gasped as we recognized that it was Michael! The archangel had kidnapped Crystal! But why? He didn't even know her. This explained why Michael was always absent since this whole thing with Ronan began. He had an interest of some sort in Crystal and therefore didn't want Rogue to read his mind and find out the truth. So we had some understanding of what was going on; how Ronan got to the other side notwithstanding. That was still a big mystery. But it was Medusa who created herself in a different form in Ronan's world while trying to reverse Athena's original spell. And she killed her other self when she dragged her, Crystal, and Luna to this dimension because she was jealous and wanted to be in her doppelgangers' body. Evil never brings about good things; we knew all of that too well.

So now Rogue was determined to set things right. And the biggest problem was Michael. She was livid which wasn't a good thing on a good day let alone one that has already been fraught with so much peril. Plus we didn't know how much time had passed as we never kept track of time on the other side. Other than the sun rising and setting, no one really knew. To make matters more complicated, on or near Medusa's Island—which by the way, Rogue sealed as she promised before she flew after Michael—didn't have any form of visibility of the sun or sky so we could have been there for months. Meanwhile, there was a war in the heavens.

"Let her go, Michael! I'm warning you! I don't care if you are an archangel! You are breaking a lot of rules and laws right now!" Rogue's voice boomed as she continued to fight with Michael, who was holding on to Crystal with one hand and trying to ward off Rogue's blows with his own sword with the other.

"Why should I give her up? She's beautiful and I can make her happy! I wasn't good enough for you and your precious Alexander wouldn't just let you go! Why can't I be happy? She is exactly what I want and need! I've watched her from afar ever since she appeared here from the heavens beyond. She came here as a gift for me and I fully intend to enjoy her!" Michael screamed back, his long hair whipping around as Crystal struggled in his arms.

"I will never love you! Let me go, you brute! I love another! Let me go!!!" Crystal shrieked loudly.

Rogue swung again and this time hit Michael's sword and held it there as he struggled to not let her overpower him. They may or may not have been evenly matched had he not been concentrating on also holding Crystal. But Rogue wobbled the sword with a lot of force and at that exact moment, Crystal kicked her leg out and caught him in the hip. Michael lost hold on Crystal and teetered in the sky as she fell from his arms and went screaming and falling towards the sea as we all gasped! Just before she hit, the Hydra caught her and flew away from the scene of battle in the clouds.

She was brought back here by the Hydra and lowered gently as the 9 headed, continent-of-Africa sized dragon flew back out to sea to see if it could render Rogue any further help. Meanwhile, Ronan ran towards Crystal with Luna behind him. When he got to her, he didn't even stop as he scooped her weeping into his arms and Luna hugged her mother's legs. Ronan with Crystal in his arms just stood there and rocked her back and forth as she sobbed. Finally as the rest of us were watching, he walked slowly back to Cupid's castle and gently set her down as I explained who I was and that I wanted to examine her to make she didn't get hurt in the struggle. Ultimately, she was fine other than totally shaken up which was completely understandable. Meanwhile, the battle overhead raged on.

Though Michael dropped Crystal and couldn't retrieve her, Rogue was not giving up. It was like she was channeling all of the many years of his rude and perverse behavior into each and every strike. Michael wasn't backing down by any means either but he wasn't exactly winning as he was constantly moving backwards or flying out of the way of a decapitating blow. No one was sure whether she would kill Michael if the opportunity presented itself. She certainly had the right but when it came to those pesky rules and what not? Rogue could change them back in the real world but here? Who knew?

Suddenly a bright white light hit them both and a different angel appeared. We'd never seen him before but he looked stronger and older looking than Michael or maybe wiser would be the best way to describe him. He knocked Michael away from Rogue as he was poised to strike again. Rogue stood or flew in place rather. She lowered her sword.

"Michael! What have you done? You have broken the laws which you were sworn by since the beginning of the universe! If the Queen was not about to finish you off, I would have waited a while longer! But we have spoken and this ends now! You have used your authority to hinder instead of help. You are a sacred warrior not the God of love!" The angel spoke loudly as Michael's eyes widened.

"Netzach, what are you saying?" Michael whispered. The angel named Netzach looked at Rogue and then back at Michael before continuing.

"Because the humans of the world the Queen lives in worship you as the angel that fights against demons, you will remain unfallen and as just that. But unless you are summoned by a powerful human to ward off a demonic foe, you are forevermore bound to your home in the clouds herein. Never will you have dealings with the Queen or the Watchers forward going. You have done more bad than good and I cannot look upon this any longer! What is done is done! Take your leave now!"

With a clap of his powerful hands, Netzach banished Michael and the latter was gone before anyone could blink. Rogue sighed heavily and turned to face the angel before her. Knowing what she was thinking about he then said to her:

"I will be your liaison from now on, your highness. I am the leader of the principalities or eternity. I am the angel Netzach. I do apologize it took us so long to do this. We always wanted to give him his chance at redemption. But this was too much. Just a question, were you going to actually kill him?" He looked at her with one eyebrow raised; she smiled for the first time since this whole thing began and shook her head.

"As much as it would have been fun, I unlike Michael actually follow and know the laws and rules of this world. I would never have killed him but scaring him into believing it was good enough for me. If I wanted to kill him, I wouldn't have used something as annoying as a sword. One marble sized crystal ball would have done the trick. And I wanted you all to see what he was doing. I hope that you Netzach are a lot better and more trustworthy than your predecessor."

"I will show you thus, your highness. I know that a word is only good when actions stand behind them." He bowed to her than and she left the clouds as she changed back into regular fairy attire and came back to us as Amy closed the portal.

She looked at all of us and had not much to say. She was just digesting it all as Crystal was sitting with Ronan and Luna next to her. Just then something interesting struck her and she smiled a brilliant smile and her eyes started shining. Before we could ask her what happened, a portal popped out of nowhere and Nessie along with Jacob and Keith came through it. Nessie had tears in her eyes as she looked at all of us and said the words that stopped many hearts.

"I'm pregnant."

To be continued....
