Carl's p.o.v

Dad had to put his hand on my shoulder to stop my staring at (Y/N). She's just so pretty. I never felt this way about a girl, not even Beth or Liz who I had a crush on them but it faded away when we found her.

I had to run to catch up with the group. Beth was unlocking the gates as we ran up to them, killing a few walkers on the way.

(Y/N) was staring at the prison in astonishment after the gates we're closed. Dad told Beth to take (Y/N)'s mom to an open cell and told Daryl to follow them with the little boy who was becoming conscious.

"Carl, can you show (Y/N) around the prison? " dad asked. I nodded and she looked at me. I turned and started walking toward the prison. I hear soft footsteps behind me. I stop and allow her to catch up with me.

"How'd you guys get in here? " she asks. My heart skips a beat and I hate to admit that I might like her.

"Broke in I guess you can say. Killed a bunch of walkers doing it ," I stop and turn to face (Y/N) "We lost a lot of people too, and with the governer trying to take it... we just can't let that happen. "

(Y/N) stares at me with big (Y/C/E) eyes and then tackled me in a hug.

"We lost a lot of people too," she whispers. From her voice I can tell she's crying. A few tears slip from my eyes. I hug her back but quickly push away and wipe my eyes. I did not expect her to hug me... but it was nice for someone to comfort me again.

"We should continue the tour so I can get to my chores. " I say. She chuckles, "It's the zombie apocalypse and you guys still have chores." I smile and open the door to the prison. I walk in and hold it open. After she enters I close it back and let my eyes adjust to the darkness.
