They chatted, laughed, and shared as they walked through the field. The sun shone, the grass was green, and the air was fresh. They conveyed stories, they gabbed, and they talked about everything and anything.

One of the friends turned to the other, their smile remaining as stoic as before. "(NY/N)?"

The pink and green cow turned toward her friend beside her with a questioning smile. She hummed and tilted her head to see all of the other's face.

"If- and this is a big if- the Eggman army took over, can you promise me you'll stay on my side?"

(NY/N)'s eyes widened. "Huh??" She let out a surprised giggle as she moved her hair out of her face. "Of course, I'll stay with you! I'd be mad joining Eggman's side, Shinobu!"

The purple sugar glider smiled, took the cow by the hand, and ran off. She dragged the confused (NY/N) away from the path into the woods, expertly dodging any incoming branches and vines blocking their new path.

"Where are we going?" (NY/N) peeked over from behind Shinobu's shoulder. Her dot-eyed face jumped from their linked hands to the side of her butterfly-loving friend.

"Well, all this talking has gotten me hungry, so we're heading to the city to eat out!"

The girl's eyes widened as a happy smile spread across her face. "Really!?" Her tail began to sway; her yellow bell accessory jingling due to its movement.

"Yup!" Shinobu turned her head and gave (NY/N) a closed-eye smile. Her face was bright and happy, like a complete mirror of (NY/N)'s excitement. "Besides-"

"- you need some food to wash down all the lies you'll tell for me!"

Rusty extended her arms and stuck Rebel and Renegade on the wall harshly causing them to groan in sudden pain.

(NY/N) stood beside her, rubbing her head. Her green eyes scanned the whole area and noticed Sonic looking at her in distress. "What?"

"Can you help me out of here, (Y/N)?"

"Stop calling me that!" Her head seethed and screeched every time she heard that name, and it annoyed (NY/N) how much she felt like she should know who that is. It felt like she should know everything about that person and their personality as a whole, but she just couldn't remember.

(NY/N) turned her whole body toward the blue hedgehog; her face filled with confused rage. "I don't know who that is or what they have to do with me! My name is (NY/N) (L/N) the cow! I am a worker of The Chaos Council, not your frien- WHA!"

Rusty knocks into her causing (NY/N) to fall onto the computer. The laser, which was once grounded into the floor, moved closer to Sonic and destroyed the top of the machine that held him. He let out panicked yells as his cage rolled away with him inside.

Robots swarmed into the room and tried to bring down the Rebels with little success. (NY/N) gets up from the cold metal floor as robot parts fly over her. She looks around once more to see the destruction and chaos the Rebels caused. She grunts in anger and takes a step toward the computer before suddenly getting kneed in the chest and pinned down.

(NY/N) locked eyes with Rebel who was fuming in anger. "How dare you!" The bat grabbed (NY/N)'s squirming hands and held them above the cow's head, prohibiting her from escaping. "How dare you leave us like that!"

"You're acting like I had a choice!" (NY/N) kicked Rebel off of her. She rose from the ground quickly and rubbed her sore wrist before dodging the bat's sudden kick. She clicked her heels together causing blades to extend from the back of her boots. Without wasting any more time, the cow raced forward and swiped at Rebel's face with her heels. Rebel leaned back just in time to miss (NY/N)'s attack but fell victim to Rusty's unannounced pounce.

Rusty knocked both Renegade and Rebel away before turning her attention to Sonic, who was destroying robots despite how horribly dizzy he was, leaving (NY/N) alone in the middle of the room.

'Why did this have to happen..?' She sighed tiredly. 'I really didn't wanna see them again. Especially right now... And these constant headaches and hallucinations don't help at all.'

Her eyes glance up for a second. She did a double-take before rolling to the side, dodging Renegade's incoming fist. He cracked his knuckles and stared (NY/N) down. As they stood face to face, nose to nose, she could feel the tension in the air, feel the aggression bubbling beneath the surface. She knew he hated her, that he loathed the thought that (NY/N) left them to work with the enemy.

She didn't regret it though. Not for a second.

Renegade swung to punch (NY/N)'s face, but she would move backward or attempt to cut him with her shoe blade. He was getting justifiably annoyed and reached to grab her long coat, hoping to slow her down, but it didn't work- in fact, he didn't even grab her coat at all.

His hand stopped as Renegade's body completely froze. "U-Uh..." His eyes trailed down toward his gloved palm that was currently holding (NY/N)'s chest.

The cow stood there, equally shocked. Her jaw dropped as she felt Renegade's hand suddenly twitch and move away slowly.

"..."

(NY/N)'s face exploded with blush as she pushed the equally embarrassed echidna away from her. "WHHAAAA PERVERT!" She held her chest as dramatic tears flowed down her face like a waterfall.

"I-I'm sorry! I-"

"YOU ASSAULTED ME, PERVERT!"

"STOP CALLING ME THAT!"

"EEK! NOW HE'S HARASSING ME!"

Renegade just sighed, ignoring (NY/N)'s wailing and whining. 'At least she's not a threat right now.' He looked around the room. His purple eyes widened at the sight of Rusty demolishing the rest of the Egg Fleet along with any robot that planned on barging in. With an amused huff, he turned toward (NY/N); his arms crossed in triumph. "You lost, caff."

"Eh!?" (NY/N)'s once-crying demeanor dropped and was immediately replaced with one of confusion. She sees the others, Nine, Rusty, Renegade, and Rebel, surrounding her; their faces filled with conquest.

(NY/N) looked at each of them, overwhelmed by the sudden end to the chaos and the loss of the battle. She didn't feel too guilty when her eyes landed on Sonic or Nine. She had no recollection of who they were so she had no reason to feel guilt... but then, she saw Rebel. Part of her wanted to beg for mercy, part of her wanted to lash out, part of her wanted to give up. (NY/N) felt horrible and icky. Her eyes couldn't bare another second under Rebel's harsh gaze so she looked at the floor. The cow sighed and opened her dry mouth to speak.

"Guys... I need to tell you why-"

"Bring it in, fam!" Suddenly, she was squashed by all of them and she was hugged, tightly, tightly, tightly. She struggled to get free, she struggled to escape, she struggled to breathe, and, thankfully, her suffering ended when the others distastefully removed themselves from the hug.

(NY/N) dramatically inhaled and exhaled, earning a chuckle from the two-tailed fox to her right.

The cow rubbed her side as she nonchalantly ducked under the laser circling the room. She focused her attention on the hedgehog in the middle of the group, trying her hardest to ignore the stares from the individuals around her.

"Alright," Sonic started with his trademark grin. "Introductions!-"

"Now, hold on." Rebel crossed her arms. Her blue eyes went from Sonic to (NY/N) as a scowl grew on her face. "What about her? She was literally fighting us alongside Bolts over there."

(NY/N) shifted on her feet uncomfortably. She wanted to leave, to escape, to find a quiet place where she could be alone– but she couldn't. She tried to block out the noise, tried to ignore the people– but she couldn't. And as the discomfort grew, as the anxiety deepened, as the unease worsened, she found her voice failing her as guilt ate at her mind.

Sonic frowned at (NY/N)'s obvious, pained state. He always hated seeing (Y/N) not at ease and (NY/N), different or not, was still like the hedgehog's best friend, so he felt the need to help calm her down. Just like he does with (Y/N).

"Well... She doesn't seem to be attacking us now." (NY/N) looked up from the ground in surprise. Her widened eyes glanced at Rebel and Renegade who seemed to actually be considering this thought. The Rebels looked at each other before turning their attention back to Sonic.

"How do you know she won't just turn on us? It wouldn't be the first time." Rebel looked back at (NY/N), her gaze a little less deadly than before. Rather, it was sadder, more betrayed, and heartbroken. It was obvious the bat was trying to look at the brighter side, to see past (NY/N)'s previous actions- but she couldn't. She just couldn't.

"I'll monitor her."

Rusty raised her hand as the other rested on her chest. "I will ensure that (NY/N) (L/N) will not enact any unwanted or dangerous actions towards this group." Rusty's eyes glided over toward the cow before nodding affirmatively. (NY/N) smiled sweetly and nodded back.

"Alright, now that that's settled, introductions!" The blue hedgehog held a hand to his chest, his smile remaining. "Hello, I'm Sonic, the high-speed hedgehog hero who's always saving the day."

He speeds over to Nine's side, who was too busy preoccupied with a device to care. "And this wily little fox is the crusty but benign Tails-" "Nine! It's Nine. Emphasis is on the Nine!"

Sonic puts his hands up before speeding between Rebel and Renegade. The two uncomfortably stand there as the hedgehog's hands remain on their shoulders. "And these two slightly thuggish party crashers consist of the alluring and kick-butt international bat of mystery, Rouge-" The group once again duck under the laser. "It's Rebel." The bat pushes away from Sonic's hold and strikes a pose; making (NY/N) silently chuckle.

"And Knuckles-!" Sonic tries to continue but Renegade copies Rouge's actions. "It's Knucks- and will someone please stop this laser??" "I got it!" (NY/N) raises her hand happily. Renegade shrugs as Rebel nods in affirmation; giving (NY/N) a 'go ahead'. She smiles but as she goes to turn the computer off, Sonic grabs her and drags her back to the circle.

"And this-" The speedster points at (NY/N). "- is the gorgeous, aerodynamic sword fighter, (Y-" "I swear to all Chaos if you call me that name again I will cut your tongue off."

"Noted..." Sonic steps back with a slight blush as (NY/N) crosses her arms and mumbles in R-rated Japanese.

Ignoring what just happened, he speeds to Rusty's side with a brighter smile. "And Amy is-" "I am an assistant of (L/N) and a killing machine created by The Chaos Council to enforce their autocratic rule." Sonic's smile drops. "... Well, Amy's the sweetest friend you could ever ask for."

They all duck under the laser once more before heavy pounding sounds from the door; startling the group and breaking the previous peace. (NY/N) suddenly gets dragged, again, toward the other side of the room by Nine. "This way, or you're finished." He called out to the rest of the group before turning his attention to the mechanic. His voice slightly softened and his eyes scrunched up in worry. "Are you okay?"

(NY/N), surprised by the sudden check-up, smiles gratefully at the boy. "Yes, I'm fine, Nine. Are you?" He nods after gently removing his hands from hers. "Yeah, I'm alright."

"This is a sweet reunion- but we need to go!" Rebel catches up to the two and tries to pry the door open with the help of Renegade. Nine rolls his eyes and inputs the password into the keypad next to the door before aiming his device at a nearby camera and blasting it.

She took a deep breath and held on tight to the floating rock she was perched on. Despite being a rather large boulder, it was still a long way away from the nearest celestial body, so she was more than a little nervous. Still, she was determined to get to wherever it was she was going. She looked to her left and saw her brother, also perched on a floating rock.

"Mm, mh!"

She called out to him. He quickly turned his head and pushed off the surface to float over to his sister. Safely and gently, he landed next to the red panda and placed his hand in hers. "What is it, Nezuko? Is something wrong?"

Nezuko raised her other hand and pointed off in a different direction. It seemed pretty random, but to her brother, it seemed pretty reminiscent.

He put a firm, reassuring hand on the girl's shoulder and tried to get her to focus on the present. "Hey, he will be back, okay? There's no reason to worry. Let's just take some deep breaths, and do our best to keep your mind off all of this." He said, trying his best to keep a calm tone in his voice.

Nezuko was having none of it. She was too afraid to sit still and kept glancing at the door as if expecting the hedgehog to show up any moment.

He sighed, knowing he was getting nowhere with calming the child. The boy had a look of defeat on his face, as he simply didn't know what to do. He wanted their friend to come back and was worried that something might have happened to him. He decided to change his approach and try a different way of talking to the child, hoping that would be more effective. "I know you're worried about Shadow, but we can't just wait around. Let's try to do something else to take your mind off this, alright?"

The girl looked up at her brother with a mix of sadness and frustration. "Mmh mm mph!" was the response she gave, as she was clearly not in the mood to be distracted. She was still concerned about her friend and just wanted a resolution to the situation.

He sighed once more. 'What have you gotten yourself into, Tanjiro?'

Suddenly, he perked up with the brightest smile on his face. "Hey, Nezuko!" She hummed in confusion tilting her head in Tanjiro's direction. The boy crossed his legs, which Nezuko followed, and placed his hands comfortably on his lap. "How about you tell me about Lady (Y/N)'s counterpart? You got a closer look at her, so why tell me about her to me?"

Nezuko's eyes brighten. Just as quickly, her mind completely forgot about the prior situation and she was on about (NY/N), (Y/N)'s other. Her hands would fly up and sign about how cool she looked with her neat shoes and new personality while Tanjiro just sat there listening with a kind smile on his face.

"YAHOO!"

The wind whipped past them as they flew down the stairwell. Their faces, usually stoic, were slightly brighter due to (NY/N)'s enjoyment of the current situation.

"Why haven't I done this before!?" She threw her hands up in the air, her face covered in newfound joy and ecstasy.

"Possibly because The Chaos Council would 'flip a lid' knowing their mechanic is falling down the stairs at 100 mph."

"Oh yeah..."

"Focus, guys!" Renegade turned back mid-air to look at Rusty and (NY/N). He pointed toward where Sonic used to be. "Sonic was just taken by a member of The Chaos Council and robots are beginning to swarm the stairwell!"

The women nodded simultaneously. Rusty reached and grabbed onto the rails of the stairs, boosting herself up multiple levels and running into action while (NY/N) activated her shoes and flew up to stop the number of robots flowing into their battle.

Once (NY/N) landed on a floor, she was dodging the barrage of blasters from the robots, zipping back and forth from side to side. She would duck under the robot's arm, then turn on her rockets and fly up to blast them in the head with her dual blasters.

They managed to graze her a couple of times, but overall, they couldn't keep up with her movements. The cow continued to zip about, dodging blasts and firing back whenever she could. She was starting to take out more and more robots, but she was still outnumbered, and the remaining robots were starting to get smart and try to box her in.

"I need help here!" (NY/N) narrowly flipped to the side to dodge a laser as another made its way toward her without her knowledge. "Watch out!" A robot was suddenly knocked in front of the incoming laser causing it to explode and take out multiple oncoming robots.

Rebel landed beside (NY/N); her face slightly drenched from the back-and-forth fighting. The bat turned to the shocked cow and pointed an accusing finger at her. "You owe me one, (Nickname)."

Both animals smiled at the nickname before rushing back into the fight with a valiant war cry. The two women fought side-by-side, taking on the enemy together. Above, Rebel would fly down and knock any robot attempting to strike (NY/N); while below, (NY/N) swiped her leg or her fist at any robot aiming their gun in Rebel's general direction.

They had been neck-to-neck for years, but now they found themselves working together to fight against a common enemy. As they fought, they began to notice how similar their fighting styles were. One woman noticed how well her attacks worked in conjunction with her rival's, and vice versa. The two started to get excited knowing that they could work even better together.

Despite all the years of competition, the two women finally started to warm up to each other.

"Ready to end this, Rouge?" (NY/N) called from below, her head strained up to see Rebel's face and response.

The white bat grabbed a robot and knocked it down the stairwell along with three others. She wiped her hands on her brown, baggy pants before looking back at (NY/N) with a smile of triumph. "Always."

There was no draft for this chapter; meaning what you are seeing now, is the first and final draft of this episode!

The Author would usually have a draft for each and every single chapter of their stories, but for some reason, she left this chapter blank by saying- and I quote, "Future me can deal with this shit."

Unfortunately, The Author did struggle immensely due to this past mistake, and rather than finishing this chapter in one sitting, he ended up taking two whole days to finish this half-episode. They were originally going to finish the entirety of the episode Escape from New Yoke in this chapter, but due to a lack of script and no planning once so ever, she'd have to write a whole new draft for Chapter Four.
