Careful
Demi
I woke up cuddled up into Wilmer's side with one leg thrown over his waist. I stretched a bit, yawning and feeling things crack and pop, then Wilmer stirred. He turned to look at me through one eye, then smiled.
"Good morning beautiful."
I smiled and kissed his jawline, "Good morning."
He turned over a bit and cupped my cheek, kissing me sweetly, "You have the day off, right?"
I nodded and leaned in again, kissing him with more force, "Yes I do, and so do you. So we're not permitted to leave this bed until at least ten o'clock."
Wilmer chuckled and rolled over me, kissing me again and again, "I agree wholeheartedly baby."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him deeply, pushing my tongue into his mouth and battling with his. He let out a low moan as I bit down into his bottom lip and dragged it out before reconnecting out mouths. My hands began to wander down his back and my nails dug into his back. Wilmer pressed his body in-between my legs and ground against me, I could feel him hardening against my leg.
"Wilmer." I groaned out, as he rocked against me, "Please."
He chuckled and kicked off his boxers, "Ready baby?"
My nails dug into his back again, "Yes."

I flopped back onto the pillows as Wilmer and I finished, laughing breathlessly. "God I love you."
He smiled and kissed my forehead as I cuddled up to him again, "I love you too nena."
I sighed happily, "I wish we could just stay like this for the rest of our lives."
Wilmer kissed my temple, "We can. Remember a conversation we had a long time ago?"
I furrowed my brow, "About what?"
He moved so we could look at each other, "Marriage."
I sighed, "I mean, do we have to?"
He looked taken back, "What do you mean?"
I shrugged and played with his fingers, "I don't know I mean, I'm perfectly happy where we are. Do you really think you should mess with our relationship?"
"Mess with it?" Wilmer said, raising his eyebrows, "Really Demi? You think marrying me would mess it up?"
I looked down again, "I don't know... I mean does it really mean anything? It's just piece of paper and a ring that we already have." I waved my ring finger with our promise ring on it.
Wilmer pulled his hand out from under mine, "Right."
I groaned, "Baby don't take it so seriously, I'm just happy where we are."
He shook his head, "Are you? I mean, are we really happy?"
I raised my eyebrows, "Uhm, judging by the sex we just had, I'd say we're pretty happy Wilmer."
He sat up with his back to me, "I need to go... I have to, yeah."
He stood up and I grabbed his hand, "Don't be mad at me. Is it such a bad thing that I don't want to change the way things are right now?"
Wilmer turned around, "Is it such a bad thing that I want to move forward?!"
I stood too, "Wilmer, we're gonna move forward eventually, I just don't want to change things if they're going great."
"Great?!" His voice was rising, "You call this doing great?! The second I bring up anything about the future you freak out!"
I threw my hands into the air, "I do not freak out! I am realistic and I don't want to try and move forward when clearly we have things to work on!"
"Clearly!" He roared, "You know, maybe I'm wrong, maybe we shouldn't try and move forward because all we are is stuck in the past!"
I threw my hands in the air, "And what the fuck is that supposed to mean?!"
Wilmer just shook his head, "Forget it. I need to go. Let me know when you're ready for a real, solid relationship."
I snorted, "We have that. Let me know when you're done being pissed because I can't give you what you want."
I was greeted with a slamming door.

"I don't know Riss, he's never really done this before. I mean, we've had fights but it's nothing like this. He's so shocked that I don't want to get married that he leaves? Like, what the fuck?"
Marissa sighed, "Demi, Wilmer's always been the marriage kind of guy. He's the kind of guy that you marry and grow old with and have a couple kids. You knew that. You knew his values. Demi, it's been good for three years, don't you think you guys need a little bit of change?"
I sighed, "I don't know I mean, I'm just scared to change anything. We've been together for so long, I don't know if getting married or engaged will add new pressures that we can't take? I can't live without him Marissa, I know it sounds bad but it's true. He's my world and my happiness. I don't know what I would do if I lost him."
She raised an eyebrow, "Demi I hate to say this, but really, you need to think about the fact that he has been there for you since day one, he is the only one who has never left you and I know that's hard to think about, but if you don't turn the page, he'll turn it without you. Dems, if anyone can withstand the pressures of marriage it's you two. Okay? You guys will be fine."
I smiled, "Thanks Riss."
I stood up and she frowned, "Where are you going?"
I smiled, "To go get my man and tell him I wanna get married."

Wilmer
"Bro, you shouldn't of left."
I rolled my eyes as Tadao after telling him everything that had happened with Demi, "I needed to get away from her."
He raised an eyebrow, "Really? You're talking to her about a life long commitment to support her and to stay with her for better or for worse, and the second she doesn't agree with you because she's scared, you leave? Really bro? She's been left in the dirt more times that she can count and here you are, doing the same thing her dad did, the same thing all those other guys did."
I bowed my head, "I didn't even realize that."
Tadao sighed, "You've got to be careful with her, you've known that since you met her. She needs security and she needs to know that you're not gonna walk out her because she's scared."
I stood up, "I've got to get home. I just left her there. She didn't know where I was going or anything. God I'm a fucking idiot."
~*~
I pulled into the driveway and knew Demi was there when I saw her car. I took a deep breath at the front door before walking in. What I saw stunned me. Candles were everywhere, and there was a slow R&B song playing that floated through the house. I walked into the kitchen and saw plates and dishes with food laid out. I continued through the house trying to find Demi until I heard her voice behind me.
"You're home."
I turned and my jaw dropped as I saw her wearing one of my white button down shirts with just a red lace bra underneath, "Y-Yeah, I am."
She smiled coyly and walked towards me, running her fingers up my chest, as she looked up at me with a cocked head, "Before you say anything, I want you to know that I'm sorry, and that I have nothing to be scared or worried about in our relationship. I love you so much... and I do want to get married."
My jaw dropped and I blinked rapidly, "Y-You do?"
She smiled, "Change is good, and I have to stop running from forever with you. Just..." She looked up at me with a timid expression, "Just be careful with me."
I stroked her cheek, "Demi I had no right to leave you this morning. I was a jerk, and I need to show you that i can give you the security and the stability that you need. I want to make you the happiest girl in the world-"
"You already do." I said, and moved closed to him, "Wilmer every second that I am with you my heart feels so happy it could burst."
"But I want to do more than that. I want to be your husband and the one you come home to every night. I don't want to just be the person you call your boyfriend because I feel like we've always been more than girlfriend and boyfriend. I love you, mre than anything in the entire world. I don't know what I would do without you. Seriously, I don't know how to live without you."
I leaned my head against his, "I feel the exact same way."
Wilmer suddenly stepped away from me, and slid down onto one knee, "Tell me to stop right now and I will if you're not ready."
I shook my head, "Baby I've never been more ready for anything in my life."
He smiled and looked up at me through his lashes, and slowly slipped a black box out of his pocket, "Demetria Devonne Lovato, I have loved you since the second I saw you. I want to spend ever second, of every minute, of every hour, of every day with you for the rest of my life. I want to be there for you when you come home and fall asleep and wake up with you. I want to laugh and cry with you. I want to have kids and grow old with you. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?" He opened the box and I gasped at the sight of the huge diamond ring nestled in the black velvet.
I squatted down in front of him and held the back of his neck, "Absolutely, yes."
His lips crashed down on mine before the words even left my mouth, the force pushed me on my butt, then my back as he hovered over me, kissing me deeply and passionately. After a few minutes, Wilmer pulled away and rested on one knee above me. He took the ring and slid it onto my left hand ring finger, then kissed the tip of it.
"I love you so much."
I wiped a tear away from my eye, "I love you too, forever."
