"Marvin, have you seen my keys? I'm going to be late to vork if I don't find zhem!" Schneep called out as he searched his bedroom for his car keys, Marvin helping in cat form.
The white cat darted underneath the bed and returned with a set of keys, spitting them out of his mouth into Schneep's hand.
"Thanks mein mieze." Schneep nodded in appreciation before he jogged to the door and opened it.
"I vill be back, try to keep from destroying half of my house!" Schneep directed over his shoulder as he left the house
"It was one time last week!" Marvin yelled back as he shifted back into human form, closing the door after Schneep.
"It's soooo boring to be here alone!" Marvin complained aloud to himself, the magician looking through the kitchen for breakfast.
"God, he just lives off of coffee doesn't he?" Marvin muttered as he looked into the fridge, finding a partially filled gallon of milk, a bag of coffee beans, and some left over food from yesterday's dinner.
"I suppose I must use the magic of money for breakfast since I can't make food out of thin air." Marvin remarked as he looked around for any money Schneep might have left behind.
"Damn, I guess it's time to go back to the streets then." Marvin sighed as he grabbed a plastic bag and walked out of the house.
The magician stood by the Brighton pier performing magic tricks for hours, kids and adults alike enjoying his acts and leaving spare change in the bag.
"This guy's just scamming you for money!" One man accused, pushing through to the front of the crowd.
"Sir-"
Marvin broke off as the male punched Marvin hard in the jaw, taking what money Marvin had made as the dazed magician staggered back in surprise.
Marvin spat out a thin line of blood as the crowd dispersed, leaving him as broke as he was before and now hurt.
"People don't believe in magic anymore, do they?" Marvin murmured under his breath as he rubbed his aching jaw, a little girl tentatively approaching him.
"Hello, what's your name?" Marvin asked politely as he knelt down in front of the girl, her big brown eyes staring into his blue ones with wonder.
"M-my name's Susie." She stammered shyly, the magician smiling as he sent his magic flying around her in the form of a butterfly.
"Marvin the Magnificent, a pleasure to meet you." Marvin nodded in reply.
"Wow." She breathed in awe as the butterfly fluttered around her before disappearing, her attention returning to the magician.
"What happened to your face?" She abruptly asked, pointing at the blood trailing out of the corner of his mouth and the dark bruise developing on his jaw.
"Not everyone believes that what I'm doing is real, they think I'm just scamming them all." Marvin admitted, the girl fishing a quarter out of her pocket.
"I believe." The girl replied before skipping off, Marvin looking down at the quarter in his hand with a grin.
Marvin walked back home with the quarter in his hand, going inside and cleaning up the cut on the inside of his mouth and holding ice over the bruise.
Marvin sat on the couch and watched tv for awhile as he waited for Schneep's shift to end, the magician replaying the time he had with the girl in his head while he held the quarter in his hand.
"Once again, he's working past his shift." Marvin groaned as he looked at the clock, the German's shift ending over an hour ago.
"Fine, I guess I'll pay him a visit." Marvin decided, going to the hospital Schneep worked at.
"Hello, I'd like to visit Doctor Schneeplestien." Marvin told the receptionist as he walked inside, remembering the first time he had been inside.
"He just finished a heart surgery, so he should be in the break room down the hall on your right." The receptionist informed him, Marvin following her directions.
Marvin found the German sitting at a table talking with another doctor with black hair, both men drinking coffee.
"Hey Henrik!" Marvin greeted Schneep, the German looking over at Marvin with a concerned expression when he noticed the bruise.
"Who is he?" The other doctor asked Schneep as the brown haired male stood up.
"He's a friend of mine." Schneep answered hastily before walking with Marvin out of the break room.
"Is everything okay?" Schneep asked Marvin, the magician nodding in response.
"Yeah, you were supposed to be home about an hour ago, so I wanted to check on you." Marvin stated.
"Right, sorry. I'll head home." Schneep promised as a nurse ran up to the German doctor.
"There's a man coming in that tried to commit suicide, he needs treatment now." The nurse stated in a rush.
"I vill take care of zhem." Schneep assured her before striding off to his room to prepare for the patient.
Marvin shifted into cat form so he could stay in the room without being noticed, a stretcher rolling the patient in.
Schneep silently moved the man to his operation table, blood flowing out of the wound in his head.
Marvin watched the German work from under his desk for hours, ready to help if anything went wrong.
"Damnit, stay vith me you motherfucka!" Schneep cursed as he worked on removing the bullet out of the man's head, the heart monitor's beeping slowing to a crawl.
Zhere." Schneep declared as he took the bullet out, bandaging the wound.
"Here, let me help." Marvin offered as he turned into a human once more, using his magic to fix the internal bleeding and heal the man's brain.
"Vonderful." Schneep breathed as Marvin sat in the German's chair, his face pale and hands shaking.
"Hang on Zauber." Schneep whispered, leaving the room and returning with an apple in hand before tossing it at the magician.
Marvin caught it and took a bite, the man laying on Schneep's table slowly opening his eyes and looking at the doctor.
"Hello, vhat is your name mein friend?" Schneep questioned as he stood by the male, his blue eyes filled with confusion.
"My name is Chase, Chase Brody. Why did you save me? I wanted to be dead." Chase argued.
"I've been where you are." Schneep remarked, gesturing at the faint scar still visible on his neck.
"I have too." Marvin chimed in, flinching at the memory of him falling off of the roof two weeks ago flashing in his mind.
"What got you guys through?" Chase asked as he sat up, the two exchanging a knowing look.
"Each other." They stated in unison, Chase letting out a long breath.
"I don't have anyone that cares about me, my wife left me and took the kids." Chase admitted, rubbing his face with his hands.
"Vell, you have other people that care about you now. Doctor Henrik Von Schneeplestien, nice to meet you." Schneep countered.
"Marvin, the pleasure is mine." The magician added, Chase shooting Schneep a confused look.
"Can I just call you Doc?" Chase asked, the German smirking as he nodded his head and thought of Dean.
"How does a drink sound?" Schneep replied, Chase smirking as he slid off of the table.
"Sounds like fun to me."
With that, the trio left the room and walked out of the hospital, stumbling into two familiar men.
"Sam, Dean!" Schneep exclaimed as he huffed the brothers, Chase looking uncomfortable as he stepped back.
"Hey Doc, it's nice to see you again, but we've come because there's something important we found out." Dean stated grimly.
"Anti's possessing the body of Seán McLoughlin, an Irishman that lives in Brighton, and I think he and Dark have plans."
