Whatever happened with that barely conscious spandex-covered boy in her room at three a.m. was a ONE TIME thing and clearly, the universe couldn't even bother to let it become a one-night stand. 

Apparently Spider-Man doesn't agree, because he doesn't hesitate to turn her apartment into his safe space. So, despite the fact that she doesn't know his name & he also has no intentions of telling her it, someone opening her window and bleeding all over her carpet at ungodly hours is how she gets woken up now.

SCOLASTICA WILHELMER might have the most ridiculous name ever, but that doesn't mean she's going to give up trying to find out what his name is. For the record, it's always Cassie unless it's the first day or school or unless you want to get kicked in the nuts.

Spider-Man's a puzzle if she ever met one: a natural king of mixed signals. In a non-exhaustive list of opposites:

  i. He shows up at her window every day in the middle of the night — typical booty call behavior. 

  ii. Cassie's seen more of his skin than she can say for any other boy. (Let's pretend she's not taking patching up his wounds out of context. In her defense, he's got a really pretty voice, okay? Let a girl be delusional.)

  iii. Flashback to the first time they met. You know, when he was unconscious and bleeding in the alleyway, then unconscious and bleeding all over her carpet? Either he was really touch-starved or he was super freaked out at this blonde girl leaning over him in this unfamiliar room, because when she leant down to take his pulse, it was even faster than hers. 

Which is saying a lot, considering that Cassie Wilhelmer is also probably not going to live to 30 because of her "specific type of abnormal heart rhythm that can lead to sudden cardiac death," according to Wikipedia.

  iv. And yet, they've never even kissed. Scratch that, Spider-Man has not made one single move move, despite both Cassie giving him plenty of opportunities to do so and all of his subconscious actions suggesting that he definitely wants to.

  v. Whatever. Even though she's overanalyzing all this,

Cassie Wilhelmer's not letting her tiny crush on Spider-Man go unrequited, and she's almost certainly going to die trying!

  🕸 still debating whether to kill cassie off or not like the point of the fic is essentially to teach Peter how to cope properly w his grief? we (he) never got proper closure on gwen's death & it's implied in nwh that it didn't go very well. so . . . i guess cassie's purpose is to teach him that you can love again and it's okay to do that. it's okay to move on somewhat. I'M GOING TO CRY IF WE GET TO THAT PART THO BEAR WITH ME 😭
