-Part 6

As the day came to an end and the skies had already turned orange, Izuru wandered the halls of Heiwa by himself, holding a cleaning broom over his shoulder. Today, it was up to him and some other students to clean the classroom, so he ended up staying more than the rest of his friends. Even Aimi and Chika, who had their duties in the student council, and Tate, who had football practise, had already left.

"It's that guy that is a cleaning freak so why was I left in charge of cleaning this place. Goddammit, if only he worried about not being a lost cause on exams as much as he worries about cleaning or football, my workload before midterms or semester finals would be lifted. Maybe karma really is real." Izuru sighed.

It was after he stored away the broom and headed for the exit that his vision suddenly got blocked off. From what he could feel, someone was standing behind him, with their hands covering his eyes.

"Guess who."

"From the voice... Minami." Izuru said. "That or the headmaster actually approved that one time Tate got the football team to yell about hiring female janitors."

Minami giggled and released him from her grasp. Then, she walked in front of him, cupping her face with both her hands.

"You left this lonely maiden by herself in the same class as a brute bully who got into an argument with Rulling Douchebag-sensei in his very first day. How heartless of you, Sec-chan." Minami said. The drastic way she said those words made Izuru notice the sarcasm right off the bat.

"Hai, hai. Did he annoy you or your friends?" Izuru asked.

"Not really. He just yelled alot and threw some threats at some guys who picked on him for his behaviour." Minami explained. "I think I heard him say he hated the way the Royalty system was handled in Heiwa, but I don't care enough about it. I feel so unsafe with that ape around us." She sighed, cupping her face a second time.

"Hm, you don't have to worry about a thing, Minami. I'll make sure nothing bad happens. I have to go the library real quick so I'll see you tomorrow."

"I hope you keep your end of the bargain, hihi." Minami giggled. "Afterall, in an incomplete student council where the vice president was robbed of her previous spot and the president is some tactless little girl, who else could protect this school?"

"You're putting way too much trust on what I do." Izuru chuckled. "I'm not some superhero flying around and throwing bad guys into jail. I'm just some guy difusing situations with words. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't, win some, lose some. I can only do so much." He explained, showing Minami a thumbs up.

"Now aren't the most humble of guys, Sec-chan? Shouldn't you be on your way to the library? Did your burning love for me made you freeze where you stood?" She teased.

"The only burning love I have is for things that aren't real. And yeah, I should be on my way. Now for real, see you tomorrow." Izuru said, returning to his walk.

"Bye bye." Minami waved at him smiling, but for a brief moment, that smile faded away to give room for a slight grin.

"I never imagined you to be the blue knight riding on a white horse. I guess the girls that think of you as some expert romancer aren't wrong."

"Don't act so smug about it, you know in what context I said that."

After parting ways with Minami at the entrance of the building, Izuru went to the library, where he met one of the assistants there, a girl with blue eyes and long black hair with a figure able to rival Chika's, who surpassed both Aimi and Minami in regards to the size of their breasts. Unlike most girls attending Heiwa Academy, she wore a long white skirt and a white and blue shirt similar to the classic look of high school uniforms. Her name was Hatanaka Kasumi, a student in Izuru's year but part of Class 2-A whilst Izuru was from 2-D.

"Hai, hai. I'm surprised you came to me this early. I thought you had forgotten all about me already." Kasumi sighed, looking at the reflection of the setting sun on her glasses, which she had placed down on the table.

"I was here during my lunch break, I invited you to come join us on the student council room."

"You're really a tactless fool, Sawada-san. Putting me next to either Mitsuki-senpai or Hanagata-san wouldn't end well, specially now that your friend is in Heiwa too." Kasumi explained.

"Hm? What is that supposed to mean? Did you three met and had a fight without me knowing?"

"Nothing, nothing, I'm just blabbering. I believe you came here about the new student from Sachi-san's class."

"Fast as ever."

"I've been helping you from my place as a nobody in this school for over a year, I don't see the surprise. The student in question is called Ban Katsushito, he actually got sent to the headmaster's office not even ten minutes into homeroom."

"Rulling Douchebag?"

"Yes."

"Figures."

"He visited the library during lunch break with two of the idiots of his class, but he never seemed to care about what they said. In fact, he ignored most of their regards. However, I was able to make sense of what got him to come to Heiwa."

"I guess rumours travel quickly in such a quiet place. What do you got?"

"The headmaster was involved in him coming to Heiwa."

"Kasumi is a special case among the people I personally know in Heiwa. She is aware of what happened during my middle school years because she was in the same school as me, in the same class as a girl me and Tate were friends with at the time. Tate doesn't know this because she wasn't in our class and she had a rather... Incredible growth in appearance. A true case of the ugly duckling turned swan. Even I have to admit she is pretty hot. But even so, I avoid thinking about these two crossing paths. I don't want to think about the outcome of that. Tate's always been so supportive and glad we avoided people we knew back then, knowing one of said people is here now would destroy him. Either way, Kasumi is one of the few people who think what I did was right, so when she took notice of me being in Heiwa, she began helping me with protecting the school. While I do the hard work with dealing with the problematic people, she gathers information of them with her status as library assistant. Many students still use the library as a place to exchange rumours, rumours that are all heard by her and then relayed to me."
