-Part 3
As Izuru and Ban made their way to the student council room to have their lunch, Izuru stopped in front of the room's door after noticing something from the corner of his eye. Glancing around the hallway, he rubbed the back of his head.
"You go ahead. I have to go check something." Izuru declared.
"You sure? Food's gonna get cold if you take too long so hurry your ass up." Ban said, going into the room ahead.
"Yeah, I'll make sure I don't take too much time." Izuru replied, and looked back. "You're actually out of your habitat for once. This must be my lucky day. But coming this close to the council room? You're becoming bolder."
"S-shut up, this wasn't exactly my idea either..." Kasumi said, walking up to Izuru from another hallway. "The baseball club left all their paperwork on the library so I came to deliver it to you. Just give them to whoever manages the club and stuff. I want to go back to the library..." She explained, shoving some papers on Izuru's chest.
"Is it funding? I thought we had taken care of this already." Izuru said, looking through the papers. "The practise equipment needs to be replaced, huh? Makes sense, I think the last batch of new stuff was just in January. Those guys bust through all their equipment in no time."
"Why are you telling me that, I don't care one bit, I just want to go back to the library..." Kasumi muttered, looking down.
"I know, I'm just trying to make you get used to not be clogged up inside that book nest all the time. Besides, no one's watching. I'll take care of this with the president so don't worry about it."
"I won't either way. Well, if you excuse me." Kasumi quickly bowed and turned around to leave, but instead she became face to face with a fellow student.
'Well, I won't try to stall the conversation anymore, that's for sure.' Izuru thought, sweatdropping.
"Hi there! Are you Izuru-kun's friend?" Yumi asked excitedly.
"H-huh... N-no, I-i was j-just-"
"You were looking down just a second ago too... Did Izuru-kun break your heart? What a giant jerk he is, right? Come with me, I'm sure food will make you feel better!" Yumi giggled, grabbing hold of Kasumi's hand and pulling her into the student council room.
"W-wait-!" Kasumi called out, looking back at Izuru. 'Damn you, Sawada-san!'
'I might have truly screwed up this time...' Izuru chuckled.
"Miyuki-kun broke your heart?" Chika asked, sitting in one of the couches of the room with her bento in her lap. "I never took him for the playboy type."
"Yeah, I guess even Izuru's got his tastes and stuff. I mean, I've seen his doujin list..." Ban said, muttering that last part. He sat on the same couch as Chika.
"Izuru-kun, you're so mean!" Yumi exclaimed, sitting the couch across Chika's with her arms around Kasumi.
"Don't call me out with knowing the full story! And why am I here anyway?!" Izuru asked. He was sitting by himself on the other set of couches of the council room. "Kasumi, tell me the truth!"
"So your name is Kasumi-chan? Yes, tell us how that giant meanie broke your heart!"
"T-the truth is that..." Kasumi shuddered. "I-i just came to S-sawada-san to give him some p-papers that were left in the library..."
"Wait, you're the library chick! One of my friends was drooling over you when we went there and everything. Never thought you were the shy type outside the library." Ban said, making Kasumi shiver. "The more you know."
"S-something like t-that... T-that's why I was looking down when t-talking to Sawada-san, n-not because he broke my heart... I-it's really hard to look into the eyes of someone scary like him."
"Hm, I guess Miyuki-kun's gaze can seem threatning to the naked eye." Chika pondered.
"What the- That's a lie, senpai!" Izuru interjected. "You've known me for like a year or more now, you know that's a lie!"
"Hm, it's also true that you are nice aswell... Try to smile, maybe that will make you seem less threatning."
"Smile? That's easy." Izuru said. He then showed his poor attempt at a smile, which only left the audience of four at a shock.
"...I think I'm not hungry anymore..." Ban muttered, placing down his bento.
"Aha..." Yumi let out an empty small laugh. "I-i'm sorry for what I called you, Izuru-kun. Just don't do that again..."
"Thankfully, we don't have an elementary school division." Chika nodded proudly.
"My life span was reduced by that monstrosity." Kasumi said, pushing her glasses up.
"You four suck." Izuru deadpanned. "Anyway... Lunch's almost over and your bento is probably on the library, right? Come on, I'll walk you there."
"R-right." Kasumi got up and followed Izuru, but first bowed at those around her. "T-thank you for everything, Gushiken-san, Ban-san, Mitsuki-senpai. If you'll excuse me."
"Hey hey, no need to be super format! Just call me Yumi-chan, Kasumi-chan!" Yumi exclaimed.
"Drop the honourifics, Ban's just fine." Ban said.
"You can call me by my first name, I won't mind it." Chika smiled.
"A-alright then. See you later."
With Kasumi by his side, Izuru opened the door, but was shocked by who stood on the side, that being Tate, who looked at Kasumi with widened eyes, and she did the same.
'Shit, he didn't knew she came to Heiwa too. I tried so hard to stop these two from crossing paths!' Izuru thought, deviating his look from the two.
"Y-you are..." Tate muttered.
"I-i..." Kasumi stuttered.
"You're a total babe!" Tate exclaimed. "People call me Tate but you can call me anytime!"
"Huh..."
"Just ignore him, he's an idiot that exists." Izuru sighed, pushing Tate out of the way and dragging Kasumi along by her hand.
"Yooo, did my Miyuki dude just finesse a girl?" Tate asked, closing the door after the duo left. "My boy is finally becoming a real man. I'm such a happy papa bear!"
"No no, you got it all wrong, Tate-kun!" Yumi giggled. "That's Kasumi-chan, from the library! We thought Izuru-kun had broken her heart so we welcomed her into the room to verbally punish Izuru-kun for his mistakes!"
"You guys were going to shit on him as a group without me? That's harsh, dude..." Tate sulked.
"Yeah, yeah. How'd it go with that chick from my class?" Ban asked.
"Oh you mean Tamaki-chan? We're back together, this is the greatest timeline!!!" Tate cheered with a large grin on his face. "Oh yeah, hey senpai? You up for helping me and Miyuki study for midterms like usual?"
"Hm? Sure thing!" Chika nodded. "Do you want to join us, Ban-san?"
"I mean I'm up for anything that can save my grades at this rate. How about we go to that diner down in Shibuya? My treat." Ban suggested.
"I like the sound of that, but I'll pay my part. I'd be a terrible senpai if I let my new kouhai pay for my food."
"You're far too kind, senpai. Me and Miyuki are gonna enjoy our free food like there's no tomorrow! I'm talking fancy sushi, beef steak, a beef bowl bigger than Tamaki-chan's-!"
"You get a cup of coffee and you'll like it!"
"Katsu-chan, you're so mean..." Tate cried.
"Stop calling me that!"
"The president wasn't there. Did something happen to Hanagata-san?" Kasumi asked as she stepped onto the empty library.
"She's been acting weird lately but I don't know what's going on. It's like she's giving me the cold shoulder or something, I don't know." Izuru shrugged, closing the door behind the two. "Well, home sweet home, right? Man, you really suck at social interactions."
Kasumi looked back at Izuru with a glare and pout, then crouched while holding her head and groaning.
"K-kasumi...?"
"Never again... Never make me go through that again... Handling people is so hard outside the library and I had to handle three strangers at that! One was even an upperclassmen!!" Kasumi exclaimed.
"Pffft, you serious?" Izuru snickered, looking away.
"You're a terrible person, Sawada-san!" Kasumi yelled, getting back up.
"Probably. Besides, it's fun to see you outside the library. I rarely see you outside your little smug realm."
"Oh? Is that what makes you so happy for seeing me outside my comfort zone?" Kasumi asked, a smirk appearing on her face.
"What's up with that-"
Kasumi cut him off by taking a step forward and placing both hands on his chest. She learned up and briefly pressing her lips against his, but then sneaked her foot behind his feet and pushed him away, leading Izuru to fall on the floor dumbfounded.
"W-what...?" Izuru asked, confused by what happened. "I'm on the floor...?"
"Maybe next time you don't stall the conversation to make me be outside my comfort zone, alright?" Kasumi smiled.
"I... That happened." Izuru got back on his feet. "No deal. I'll make you able to be around other people. I might take my time, but I'll eventually accomplish it."
Kasumi's smile began to get smaller and smaller, until it simply vanished and the light in her eyes became dimmer.
"Then be fast. I won't be here forever."
"None of us are. It'd suck to be in a shitty place like school forever. Well, see you later." Izuru said, leaving the library.
"Yeah, bye..."
