Omake: Character Decks
Chabashira-sensei: Welcome to my extra lesson on the analysis of other character's Vanguard decks. I'm Chabashira Shizuka, your class teacher, and it's a pleasure to meet you. I'll be presenting the decks used in this volume, and give my commentary on them. Deck statistics are also included, graded from E- to A+. An explanation for each category is provided below.
Consistency: Refers to drawing, searching, deck thinning, etc. Anything to increase getting into your win condition more often.
Power: Refers to power, critical, number of attacks, etc. Anything to attack the opponent with an increased edge in battle.
Recovery: Refers to resource management, recycling cards, levelling the playing field after falling behind, etc. Anything to close the gap between you and your opponent if you are losing.
Protection: Refers to shield, retiring, binding, etc. Anything to protect yourself from your opponent through various means of disruption.
Versatility: Refers to the various lines of play the deck can make, what different strategies it can utilise, how it deals in niche situations, etc. Anything that the deck can do in any number of given situations, and how well it can adapt to it.
※ The codes next to the deck name refer to the set they come from. V-CD stands for V Character Deck. V-LD stands for V Legend Deck. V-BD stands for V Booster Set (i.e built from the set).
V-CD01: The BIG BANG Knuckle Buster "Takanori Yuuto"
Imaginary Gift: Accel II
Grade 0
1x Barit Dracokid (Starter)
4x Dragon Dancer, Catharina (Front)
2x Exorcist Mage, Lin Lin (Front)
2x Spark Edge Dracokid (Critical)
4x Wyvern Guard, Guld (Draw/Sentinel)
4x Worm Toxin Eradicator, Seiobo (Heal)
Chabashira-sensei: Takanori-san has gone with a 6-2 front-critical split. This works out quite nicely, as Narukami prefers front triggers over critical triggers. This is because Gauntlet Buster has inherent critical gain and their front row doesn't hit for very high numbers that easily. The two critical triggers are used primarily as a scare tactic, since it makes people think twice before saying "no guard" to Detonix Drill.
Grade 1
4x Demolition Dragon
4x Desert Gunner, Gaiban
4x Rising Phoenix
1x Lightning of Hope, Helena
Chabashira-sensei: Helena is Takanori-san's tech of choice. Helena lets you stay at low damage more easily, so if you're facing against a deck that damage starves or you need to stay low on damage for, Helena puts in a fair amount of work. Other tech options include the popular Bolt Capture Dragon, which gusts a rear-guard to the front row, or Thunder Break Dragon, who clears out the front row swiftly and effortlessly.
Grade 2
4x Dragonic Deathscythe
4x Fiendish Sword Eradicator, Cho-Ou
4x Supreme Army Eradicator, Zuitan
Grade 3
4x Eradicator, Gauntlet Buster Dragon (Avatar)
4x Detonix Drill Dragon
Chabashira-sensei: Takanori-san has yet to master the full-extent of Gauntlet Buster, the biggest haymaker of his deck. It's an incredibly threatening vanguard that will force lots of cards out of the opponent's hand, and is also very good at damage denying, restricting the options your opponent has available. It's very strong against Accel clans, but is weak against Protect clans.
Consistency: C+
Power: A
Recovery: D+
Protection: B-
Versatility: C
(47)
Chabashira-sensei: Takanori-san's deck is well put together and utilises the best parts of Narukami. The deck is tailored towards his play-style, reflected in the very aggressive way he pilots it, unlike most others who use Narukami as a tempo-based deck. He likes big explosive moves, using his Vanguard to pressure his opponent, and having his rear-guards blitzkrieg them in consecutive succession.
V-LD01: The FATED SLASH "Mikazuchi Ryuzaki"
Imaginary Gift: Accel II
Grade 0
1x Stealth Beast, Cat Devil (Starter)
4x Stealth Dragon, Zanba Rider (Critical)
2x Stealth Beast, Moon Edge (Critical)
4x Stealth Beast, Leaves Mirage (Draw/Sentinel)
2x Stealth Beast, Cat Rogue (Draw)
4x Stealth Fiend, Yukihime (Heal)
Chabashira-sensei: Mikazuchi-san's deck uses additional draw triggers to help dig for necessary pieces, such as Left/Right Arrester and Shirayuki.
Grade 1
4x Stealth Fiend, Rainy Madame
4x Stealth Beast, Million Rat
3x Stealth Dragon, Reikou Slug
Chabashira-sensei: Million Rat is a good unit to use in the early game as it can call a copy of itself to rear-guard. This helps rush your opponent in the early game. Reikou Slug helps fixes numbers later in the game, as the +5k Power can force an extra step of guard.
Grade 2
4x Left Arrester
4x Right Arrester
4x Stealth Fiend, Jakotsu Girl
Chabashira-sensei: Jakotsu Girl can be used in many ways. You can have her whiff her attack on purpose to try and get a Shirayuki from the top of your deck or make your opponent take a damage, if they don't want you to get another Shirayuki into hand.
Grade 3
4x Dueling Dragon, ZANBAKU (Avatar)
4x Fantasy Petal Storm, Shirayuki
2x Dueling Dragon King, ZANGEKI (Avatar Next)
Chabashira-sensei: ZANBAKU's complete lockdown is the key win condition of this deck. You can create a wider gap in terms of advantage by forcing your opponent to lose tempo via locking their vanguard. If the opposing deck has poor recovery, they won't be able to rebound from this, and you can attack them while they're weak. Shirayuki is key for this deck's survivability, as she shutdowns multiple attacks singlehandedly with her skill.
Consistency: A-
Power: B+
Recovery: D
Protection: A+
Versatility: C-
(52)
Chabashira-sensei: The deck-list is identical to one that has won a major tournament. This isn't a bad thing. While there are negative connotations with net-decking within the community, net-decking is perfectly fine, especially since this deck is a good one. Copying good decks, then using them for yourself, is a great way to improve playing Vanguard. You cut any possibility of bad deck-building being the reason why you lose, and it shows clearly if you have the skill level required to use the deck.
V-CD02: The Thorny Chapel "Ishima Akihiro"
Imaginary Gift: Protect II
Grade 0
1x Vermillion Gatekeeper (Starter)
4x Blitzritter (Critical)
4x Werluchs Gefreiter (Critical)
4x March Rabbit of Nightmareland (Draw/Sentinel)
4x Cursed Doctor (Heal)
Grade 1
4x Cuticle Breaker, Pavla
4x Dimension Creeper
4x Prisoner Beast
Chabashira-sensei: As the general strategy of the deck is to use Death Anchor to re-ride into Mirche and use her skill to call Sabina and Pavla from soul, it's imperative to hit the 13 soul threshold as soon as possible. Cards like Dimension Creeper and Prisoner Beast help with this immensely.
Grade 2
4x Cuticle Assassin, Sabina
4x Awful Nail
4x Succubus of Worldly Affairs
Chabashira-sensei: The usage of the 12k vanilla is to do with Ishima-san's gift of choice, Protect II. The 0 shield isn't a problem, as the gift will give it +5k shield. Awful Nail is another card that assists in soul-charging.
Grade 3
4x Cuticle Killer, Mirche (Avatar)
4x No Life King, Death Anchor
1x Demon Eater
Chabashira-sensei: The Demon Eater tech is to help close out games if necessary. The sentinel restrict is very powerful, but very costly. It's a last-ditch effort to win when all the chips are down. Otherwise, Death Anchor and Mirche are the bread and butter of the deck. Death Anchor's re-ride ability allows for Protect II to get stacked up quickly, meaning they can become pseudo-Force markers. Mirche lacking a Protect gift is a detriment however, making her an unpopular pick among pros. Her skill to call cards from soul is reminiscent of Pale Moon, but Ishima-san has taken her confused identity and has tried to make the most out of Mirche being in the Dark Irregular clan.
Consistency: D-
Power: C+
Recovery: E+
Protection: D
Versatility: E+
(24)
Chabashira-sensei: Ishima-san has spent a lot of time and care on to put his own spin on a deck built around Mirche. However, while the deck is very unique and personalised for him, in actuality the deck is very bad. It focuses on a single combo that requires too many specific pieces, which makes it extremely fragile. The number of cards that soulcharge to meet Death Anchor's requirement are few and far between, so it will take many turns of survival before Ishima-san can go into his win condition, but even then, he exhausts all his resources in that turn, so he's a guaranteed a loss if he can't win on that turn. While the deck can work, it doesn't work very often due to it's slow and gimmicky nature. I'd advise him to strip the entire Mirche engine and replace it with cards that focus on Death Anchor's re-riding capabilities.
V-BD01: Heroic Blessing "Ishima Tamaki"
Imaginary Gift: Force I
Grade 0
1x Barcgal (Starter)
4x Flogal (Critical)
4x Future Knight, Llew (Critical)
4x Flash Shield, Iseult (Draw/Sentinel)
4x Yggdrasil Maiden, Elaine (Heal)
Grade 1
4x Pongal
4x Knight of Friendship, Kay
3x Knight of Exemplary Sword, Lucius
3x Purebright Unicorn
Chabashira-sensei: A lot like her brother, Ishima-san's deck is focused on soul-charging to use her avatar, Soul Saver Dragon, to power up the board and attack with high powered lanes. Pongal, Lucius and Unicorn all contribute to building soul, while Kay is used with Bedivere for early rush. Dream Painter can be used, but since her deck has limited ways of calling him through card effects, there isn't much merit running it.
Grade 2
4x High Dog Breeder, Akane
4x Knight of Loyalty, Bedivere
3x Sage of the Arts, Jauron
Chabashira-sensei: Akane's skill to search Pongal both deck-thins and increases consistency since she directly searches out one of the units that soul-charges. Jauron's +5k Power helps make the attacks even harder to guard, and is very helpful in situations where Force II is a better gift, since you would miss the normal +10k from the marker. Alternatively, you could cut Jauron and run Rendering Angel alongside Dream Painter for another duo soul-charge package. However, Ishima-san has opted for pieces that can operate on their own, since she already runs two pairs of units that rely on each other. By doing this, she reduces the chance of her deck bricking and being unable to play without the pair counterparts.
Grade 3
4x Soul Saver Dragon (Avatar)
4x Swordsman of the Explosive Flames, Palamedes
Chabashira-sensei: Soul Saver Dragon spreads +15k to all units, which creates devastating columns that your opponent can't easily guard against. Palamedes gets 5k for each card soul-blasted, turning the +15k into a +40k. In addition to a force marker, Palamedes would be attacking 63k solo, 86k boosted by a 23k grade 1 and 96k if you gave him a single trigger bonus. Palamedes is the biggest hitter in her deck and her best rear-guard.
Consistency: A
Power: A
Recovery: C-
Protection: D
Versatility: C
(48)
Chabashira-sensei: When someone thinks of Royal Paladin, Soul Saver isn't the first deck that comes to mind. The deck isn't as popular due to the fact that the main card is a one-trick pony and has a "cooldown" period between usage. This key weakness of being unable to use Soul Saver multiple times means successively means you get (at minimum) one explosive turn to win only, while the rest of your turns are subdued and relying heavily on the beatdown heavy side of her deck (Bedivere, Kay and Jauron) to get by. A lot of the best decks have good turns consistently, with one or two burst turns to help win. While the impact of her deck is strong, the overall stability is weak.
V-BD02: Bullet Hell "Mitsuba Jun"
Imaginary Gift: Force II
Grade 0
1x Lizard Runner, Undeux (Starter)
4x Embodiment of Spear, Tahr (Critical)
4x Demonic Dragon Mage, Rakshasa (Critical)
4x Wyvern Guard, Barri (Draw/Sentinel)
4x Dragon Monk, Genjo (Heal)
Grade 1
4x Nouvelleroman Dragon
4x Flame of Hope, Aermo
4x Sabel Dragonewt
Grade 2
4x Nouvellecritic Dragon
4x Berserk Dragon
2x Wyvern Strike, Dekat
1x Dragon Full-armored Buster
Chabashira-sensei: Even though Mitsuba-san's deck is more focused on the rarity and foiling of his cards, rather than how effective it is, he runs a surprisingly strong grade 2 line-up. Nouvellecritic adds pressure and searches for "Nouvelle Vague", Berserk Dragon gives the deck retire options, and the Dekat/Buster techs increase the power of the deck and it's consistency. A lot of pros use Buster at 1 as well, so perhaps he's smarter at Vanguard than I give him credit for.
Grade 3
4x Dragonic Overlord the End (Avatar)
4x Dragonic Overlord
Chababashira-sensei: Mitsuba-san's primary win condition is the End's triple re-stand.
Grade 4
2x Transcendence Dragon, Dragonic Nouvelle Vague (Avatar Next)
Chabashira-sensei: This is his unusual back-up plan. While it's not a popular choice, and the Great & Neoflame would've been better suited as a back-up, Nouvelle Vague has his own merits of nullifying trigger effects and having a strong 15k base to stand on. It doesn't necessarily mean the card is good, and it's obvious that he uses it for it's SVR rarity, rather than its viability.
Consistency: C-
Power: B
Recovery: D-
Protection: C-
Versatility: D+
(35)
Chabashira-sensei: It's a deck built to show off Mitsuba-san's extravagant collection. All of his cards are in the highest rarity possible. Even Dekat, who's normally a RR, is in it's SP form. Dragonic Overlord's usual RR foiling isn't satisfactory for his conditions, so he's opted for the more rare OR. He also has Nouvelle SVR, the End XVR, Buster OR, and everything else in RRR (except Barri, but that's the only exception). Each fighter plays in his own way, and Mitsuba-san's way of fighting is to blind the opponent with shiny foiling.
V-BD03: The REVENGE WORLD "Yamamoto Yami"
Imaginary Gift: Force I
Grade 0
1x Crisis Revenger, Fritz (Starter)
4x Darkside Trumpeter (Critical)
4x Grim Revenger (Critical)
4x Dark Shield, Mac Lir (Draw/Sentinel)
4x Abyss Healer (Heal)
Grade 1
4x Skull Witch, Nemain
4x Transient Revenger, Masquerade
3x Black-winged Swordbreaker
1x Dead Armor Dragon
Chabashira-sensei: While the usual line-up would have 4 Swordbreaker, Yamamoto-san has put his own spin on the deck by adding a Dead Armor Dragon tech. Searchable with Nemain, Dead Armor adds an extra edge against Protect decks, which Shadow Paladin is known to struggle with in the past. Dead Armor can also make the Vanguard more threatening, as the opponent must guard with two cards rather than one.
Grade 2
4x Blaster Dark
4x Nullity Revenger, Masquerade
4x Gapecleave Dragon
1x Fallen Dive Eagle
Chabashira-sensei: His grade 2 line-up is geared very heavily for the early game. Gapecleave Dragon is perfect for rushing, as it gains 10k just for having a 5k rear-guard, which you'll almost always have thanks to Nemain's skill. Masquerade can search for Mordred or Blaster Dark to prepare for the kill turn. Even in a pinch where you have to ride Blaster Dark, it's not a detriment, as his Twin Drive ability can help filter your hand and increases a chance of hitting a trigger. The Fallen Dive Eagle tech is very useful against clans with high power, as Nemain can search for it, and Eagle can intercept to perfect guard the attack.
Grade 3
4x Illusionary Revenger, Mordred Phantom
4x Danger-lunge Dragon (Avatar)
Chabashira-sensei: While Yamamoto-san doesn't ride Danger-lunge Dragon in a traditional sense, it's Danger-lunge on his rear-guard that is his avatar. Danger-lunge is one of the strongest cards in Shadow Paladin, gaining +10k Power, +1 Critical, and sentinel restrict with very little effort. If you don't have Blaster Dark accessible to use with Mordred Phantom's re-stand ability, he is an excellent alternative in dealing lots of damage at once.
Consistency: A
Power: A
Recovery: A
Protection: D+
Versatility: C-
(55)
Chabashira-sensei: It's the best Force deck currently, for good reasons too. Even after falling behind, it manages to catch up quickly thanks to Transient Masquerade and Danger-lunge, and the deck has lots of consistency to back it up thanks to Nemain and Nullity Masquerade. Mordred re-standing Blaster Darks with added power makes it's finishing turns very powerful. However, going second, this deck struggles greatly due to losing an extra turn needed to set-up Mordred or Danger-lunge.
V-CD03: The Planetary Collapse "Kazuraba Yukina"
Imaginary Gift: Force I
Grade 0
1x Starhulk, Lurli (Starter)
4x Asteroid Wolf (Critical)
4x Pulse Monk of the Quaking Foot (Critical)
4x Axino Dragon (Critical)
4x Lady Healer of the Torn World (Heal)
Chabashira-sensei: As her deck is Brandt, it needs to include many different ways of increasing her chance to win, as relying on the opponent's trigger checks can be unreliable. Running twelve critical is one of these ways, since it makes her attacks more threatening. This, combined with the ways her deck can make the opponent guard awkwardly, makes her deck a pressuring puzzle to guard against.
Grade 1
4x Fatal Shockwave, Jetshaft
4x Sunset Edge, Duskblade
4x Iron Staff of Forbid Extinguish, Ilinvert (Sentinel)
Chabashira-sensei: To make up for not running a Draw-sentinel, she uses a grade 1 sentinel instead. There are two variants of these grade 1 sentinels, one with a filter skill on vanguard, and one without a filter skill at all. If you use the grade 1 sentinel, always use the one with a filter skill. It might not come up often, but the smallest increase (even if it's a slight increase in consistency) can make a lot of difference. Jetshaft is one of her main ways of causing disruption, and against Accel clans, it can force a lot of units to retire. Duskblade is one of the cards that makes guarding awkward for the opponent while giving you a bonus.
Grade 2
4x Swift Deletor, Geali
4x Binodal Dragon
3x Whiteouter, Vect
Chabashira-sensei: We also see here that Kazuraba-san's deck is very different to the usual Brandt deck. She doesn't run any of the "Starhulk" cards, such as Chiral, Gicurs or Letaluk. Instead, she chooses to use cards that makes guarding awkward for the opponent and give her advantage, such as Geali. Vect and Binodal Dragon also makes guarding difficult. It's these small restrictions that add up in an annoying way.
Grade 3
3x Wandering Starhulk Ruler, Brandt (Avatar)
3x Decaydal Automata
Chabashira-sensei: Automata forces your opponent to do more drive checks which increases the chance that they'll hit a trigger and get a negative effect from it. Brandt only reverses critical and heal trigger effects, with heal triggers being the most important. As seen in Kazuraba-san's fight with Takanori-san, heal triggers can be a sure-fire way to kill someone as they deal damage to the opponent.
Grade 4
4x Wandering Starhulk Deity, Brandt Ringer (Avatar Next)
Chabashira-sensei: Brandt Ringer reverses all trigger effects, for cheaper too.
Consistency: D+
Power: D+
Recovery: D-
Protection: C
Versatility: C+
(33)
Chabashira-sensei: Kazuraba-san's deck deviates heavily from the standard Brandt deck, and doesn't aim to use mind-games in the slightest. Instead, she tries to be as much as an annoying nuisance to the opponent possible, through Brandt's trigger reversing, puzzling guard restricts, forcing intercepts and even the twelve critical triggers. While it's by no means good, it does appear to be a lot of fun.
V-BD04: Hi-powered Accel BURST "Jomko Akari"
Imaginary Gift: Accel I
Grade 0
1x Battleraizer (Starter)
4x Cannon Ball (Front)
4x Turboraizer (Front)
4x Twin Blader (Draw/Sentinel)
4x Wall Boy (Heal)
Chabashira-sensei: Strangely, this deck capitalises on Accel I. Even though Accel II gives an extra draw, Jomko-san has decided to focus on the power of her front-row to make Incise Raizer even more effective. This can also be seen in her eight front triggers.
Grade 1
3x Screamin' and Dancin' Announcer, Shout
3x Clay-doll Mechanic
3x Jetraizer
3x Drill the Dual
Chabashira-sensei: Jomko-san has tried to fit in a lot utility within her deck, but it sacrifices her consistency. This many three-of's are unsettling. She could probably cut the Jetraizer or Drill the Dual to maximise the other grade 1s, especially Shout, and to a certain extent, Clay-doll. Since these both draw, it makes her choice of Accel I slightly more tolerable.
Grade 2
3x Farmed Gaias
3x Kick Kick Typhoon
3x Vernal Cracker
2x Stylish Hustler
2x Iron Killer
Chabashira-sensei: Once again, she has traded consistency for utility. Five different grade 2s aren't necessary. Farmed Gaias is interesting, as it's inherent two critical makes it a threatening attacker and it makes up for a lack of critical triggers, but it's low base power benefits a lot more from Accel I, rather than Accel II which is the stronger gift. However, I'd advise to remove him completely and focus maxing out Kick Kick Typhoon, Vernal Cracker and Stylish Hustler, who can gain much more power.
Grade 3
4x Incise Raizer (Avatar)
3x Maximum Raizer
2x Battledore Fighter
Chabashira-sensei: Maximum Raizer is a very powerful rear-guard to have on an Accel circle, and combines with Incise Raizer quite nicely. However, it lacks a gift, which makes riding it horrible. Jomko-san has tried to compensate with running two Battledore Fighter, but if she's going to use Incise Raizer to it's full capacity, then cutting Maximum Raizer would be necessary. While Maximum Raizer is very good in the deck, Incise Raizer needs Accel circles to make the most of it's skill, so more grade 3s with the Accel gift is preferred.
Consistency: E+
Power: C+
Recovery: D-
Protection: E+
Versatility: D-
(23)
Chabashira-sensei: This deck is extremely messy, and has a lot of room for improvement. Incise Raizer is a tricky boss card to work with, and I'd pair it with Azure Dragon instead. Instead of using lots of different units, Jomko-san should try to narrow down to three units she wants to use the most, and use four copies of them instead.
V-BD05: The God "Rinbayashi Amou"
Imaginary Gift: Force I
Grade 0
1x Neon Messiah (Starter)
4x Asteroid Wolf (Critical)
4x Pulse Monk of the Quaking Foot (Critical)
4x Flowers in Vacuum, Cosmo Wreath (Draw/Sentinel)
4x Lady Healer of the Torn World (Heal)
Grade 1
4x Destiny Dealer
2x Calderon Wing
2x Black Star of Increase, Balerother
2x Treasured Child of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance
1x Fatal Shockwave, Jetshaft
Chabashira-sensei: This is one of the few cases where utility can be used more effectively. Unlike Jomko-san's deck, Rinbayashi-san's deck can use many different grade 1s because the deck goes through the deck more often, and Harmonics Messiah can search for specific cards. There aren't many better grade 1s to run, so having a toolbox can work in her favour. Calderon refunds resources, Balerother gains power, Resonance acts like a pseudo-Force marker, and Jetshaft can force lots of rear-guards to retire at once.
Grade 2
4x Lady Battler of the Gravity Well
4x Blast Monk of the Thundering Foot
3x Remarkable Burst Monk
3x Whiteouter, Vect
Chabashira-sensei: Remarkable Burst Monk can re-stand the vanguard, which can allow Harmonics Messiah to toolbox two units in a turn rather than one. Rinbayashi-san has chosen a 3-3 split between it and Vect, but a 4-2 split can also work.
Grade 3
4x Harmonics Messiah (Avatar)
4x Claw of Occlusion, Ghastly Nail
Consistency: B
Power: A-
Recovery: B-
Protection: C-
Versatility: B-
(51)
Chabashira-sensei: For a pure Messiah build, it is extremely optimal. However, it's not refined as it could be. Combining it with Deletor makes an even better deck that utilises the power of Delete and the strength of Lock. Strangely, despite how good the deck is itself, Rinbayashi-san plays like a novice. She struggled to win even against Jomko-san, who's deck was extremely unrefined. However... she performed one outstanding play that made it look like she was a master at the deck.
V-BD06: Return to ABSOLUTE ZERO "Mikazuchi Kaido"
Imaginary Gift: Protect I
Grade 0
1x Captain Nightkid (Starter)
4x Rough Seas Banshee (Critical)
4x Knight Spirit (Critical)
4x Mortal Mimic (Critical)
4x Rick the Ghostie (Heal)
Chabashira-sensei: Granblue decks out quicker with draw triggers, so using twelve critical is the correct way to go.
Grade 1
4x Dandy Guy, Romario
4x Ripple Banshee
4x Dolph the Ghostie (Sentinel)
Chabashira-sensei: Like Kazuraba-san, to make up for the lack of Draw-sentinel, Mikazuchi-san uses a grade 1 sentinel with the filter effect. One possible tech to add to this line-up is Dragon Spirit, as it becomes a 16k.
Grade 2
3x Greed Shade
3x Ruin Shade
2x Captain Nightmist
1x Stormride Ghost Ship
Chabashira-sensei: Captain Nightmist helps with tool-boxing units from the drop zone. Ruin Shade helps hit the ten card threshold quicker. Greed Shade helps get specific cards into hand.
Grade 3
4x Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus (Avatar)
3x Dragon Undead, Skull Dragon
2x King of Demonic Seas, Basskirk
2x Seabed Demon Beast, Scaredick
1x Violence Flanger
Chabashira-sensei: One of Granblue's strong points is the number of grade 3 finishers it has access to. Mikazuchi-san uses Skull Dragon, Scaredick and Violence Flanger, for their power, critical, and guard restrict. Basskirk is ran as a back-up vanguard.
Consistency: B+
Power: A
Recovery: A
Protection: C+
Versatility: A-
(62)
Chabashira-sensei: A very strong deck with a good toolbox and finishers. It's very balanced and can do well against a lot of opponents. As expected of a 3rd Year A Class, I have no qualms about this deck whatsoever.
Results
1) Return to ABSOLUTE ZERO "Mikazuchi Kaido" (62)
2) The REVENGE WORLD "Yamamoto Yami" (55)
3) The FATED SLASH "Mikazuchi Ryuzaki" (52)
4) The God "Rinbayashi Amou" (51)
5) Heroic Blessing "Ishima Tamaki" (48)
6) The BIG BANG Knuckle Buster "Yuuto Takanori" (47)
7) Bullet Hell "Mitsuba Jun" (35)
8) The Planetary Collapse "Kazuraba Yukina" (33)
9) The Thorny Chapel "Ishima Akihiro" (24)
10) Hi-powered Accel BURST "Jomko Akari" (23)
Chabashira-sensei: As you can see in the results, Mikazuchi-san's Granblue deck is the winner from our line-up today. Just remember that none of these decks are wrong, and I simply evaluate decks on a competitive level due to my job. Diversity and creativity is one of Vanguard's strongest points, so feel free to use the weaker decks for fun. I want everyone to improve in their own ways. Comment your thoughts or your own deck-list for me to analyse below, and I'll see you all in the next Character Deck segment. Lastly, thank you for attending today's extra lesson. Sensei's very happy you've come. Now, class is dismissed.
