Cardshipping

Syaoran and Sakura...

Who doesn't ship them? Flight wondered as it rested among the rest of the clear cards.

The card had heard stories, stories about the other cards that its master used to have, the Sakura cards.

It had heard about how all the cards had been waiting for them to get together, only for it to happen right before they separated.

Ah, wasn't life just tragic for the two?

Now, even though the two of them were technically nearly at the boyfriend/ girlfriend stage... if they weren't there yet, they seemed to be getting more and more distant from each other.

Flight was impatient. After her master's little 'date' with her boyfriend the other day, there didn't seem to be any progress with their relationship.

It really sucked, for the ship to stall.

Flight would have frowned if it could, having watched the cute couple silently from a corner of Sakura's pocket, it really couldn't sit around and wait any more. It needed the ship to sail. NOW.

It was time for the cards to take action.

It was time for them to set up a date.

"Let's do some matchmaking!" Flight spoke to the rest of the clear cards using telegraphy, a technique it mastered to escape the boredom of everyday life.

"Matchmaking?" Record asked, curious with flight's plan. The card inched closer, wanting to hear more.

"Yep! Let's set up a date for them in the sky!" Flight suggested.

"How..." siege questioned, paying close attention to Flight's words.

"Well, I was thinking of using mirror to mirror me so that the two of them could fly together. Gale could help out by pushing them pass the most romantic spots in the area. Last but not the least, Aqua could make a rainbow in the sky!" Flight felt itself shiver with excitement as it thought about the date that it had planned out.

"Interesting idea, but I'm sure that they had a similar moment in the sky recently." Mirror sighed, thinking about the date.

"Well..." Flight tried to argue back, only to realize that there was nothing it could say to counter mirror's words.

"What about dinner in the sky?" Action suggested.

"Where are we going to find the food?" Mirror countered.

"Well... there is someone..." Flight would have smiled, if cards could do so.

It was time for the matchmaking to begin. Syaoran and Sakura have no idea what's going to hit them.
———————

Today was the big day.

Flight wiggled with happiness as he awaited the start of the date. The plan was going to start in a matter of seconds.

3...

2...

1...

"Phrase one!" Flight announced, as soon as the clock striked six.

The mirror card immediately sprung into action, light pouring out of its silvery surface.

The next moment, an exact copy of flight flew out of the mirror, the copy using one of its tails to wave a hello.

"Ok. Now, on to phrase two!" The mirror card announced as soon as the copying was done. Immediately, one of the two flights flew over to Sakura, who was currently sleeping on her desk, exhausted after completing her math homework. Meanwhile, the other one picked up the move card and flew out of the window.

————————

"Look over there!" Kero-Chan pointed up at the duplicate flight card, the one who was making its way to Syaoran's house.

"Phrase three!" Tomoyo announced, watching as the flight dropped the Action card. Grabbing the card as it fell, she placed it beside the picnic basket she had prepared, watching as the two objects merged together. The picnic basket, now merged with the card, floated up into the sky and positioned itself on the top of a nearby tree.

"Phrase four!" Tomoyo grabbed her round camera, fastening it onto Kero-chan's head. At the same time, she grabbed her camera drone, switching it on and making sure that all was in working order.

"Ready Kero-Chan?"

"Ready!"

"Phrase five!" Tomoyo gave the cue, causing the flight card in Sakura's house to fly out with a half-asleep Sakura.

"Hoe! What's happening?" Sakura struggled, wondering why the floor suddenly disappeared under her feet. Realizing that she was two stories up and dangling in midair, she wiggled a little, attempting to balance herself with flight's wings.

"I didn't use the flight card!" She continued trying to balance herself, doing her best to steady her pace. However, the card seemed to have a mind of its own as it flew up higher into the air, making it difficult for her to control its movement.

"HOE?!"
————————

Meanwhile, Syaoran wasn't exactly having a good time himself.

He was focusing his energy on the sword that he had, feeling the power from within. Striking out, he practiced the angling of his sword, imagining that he was fighting a high class trainer. Striking up a finishing pose, he felt his feet slowly getting lifted off the floor.

"NANI?!" He called out as he got pulled backwards, his head hitting the window with a satisfying bang.

"Ouch! What in the world's going on?!" He felt something moving on his back, almost as though the mysterious object was a part of himself. Looking behind, he was greeted with the sight of translucent fabric with slightly pink tips.

...Sakura's flight card?

Syaoran didn't have much time to ponder about the card, however, as he felt himself being dragged out of the window by the fluttering mess of ribbon behind him.

"This thing is out of control!!!!!" He screamed as the card shot out of the window, full speed ahead.

"AHHHHHHHHH!"

He quickly turned himself around, allowing him to at least see where he was flying. Looking in front of him, he saw another flying figure. His eyes widened as he looked at her, immediately identifying the brown-haired girl.

"SAKURA! Watch out!"
—————————

Sakura heard a shout coming from her left, turning her head, she noticed a dark-haired male flying at full speed towards her, obviously having no control whatsoever over the wings he had.

"Syaoran-Kun?!" She shouted in surprise. At the rate he was going, they were about to crash.

She gulped, bracing herself for the impact. Just then, a strong gust of wind slowed the card, preventing it and it's clone from crashing into one another.

"Sakura... what's happening?" Syaoran questioned as the two flights took them higher into the air, flying past a whole bunch of cherry blossom trees. Up to now, be still didn't have full control of the card.

Geez... flying sure was difficult.

"I don't know..." Sakura answered. "I didn't even use flight!"

"Then why..." Syaoran stopped, noticing the sight of the setting sun in the distance. Shades of yellow, pink and orange painted the sky, a few whips of purplish clouds beside the bright, orangey sun. Sakura noticed what he was looking at, recalling a particular incident that happened not so long ago as she admired the view.

"It's just like the other day." She commented. "The day I got the mirror card."

Syaoran nodded. Sakura looked in his direction to see his face at ease as he took in the breathtaking sight of the sun. She smiled slightly, glad to be able to enjoy this moment with him.

"Phrase six!" Kero-Chan whispered, him and Tomoyo's drone only a few meters away from the lovebirds.

Hearing his command, Aqua pained the sky seven colors, making a rainbow appear before Sakura and Syaoran.

"It's beautiful!" Sakura exclaimed in joy, looking up at the rainbow.

"It sure is, Sakura." Syaoran answered, noticing a picnic basket flying towards them.

"A picnic basket?"

"A what?" Sakura watched as the basket got closer, it's lid opening to reveal a letter underneath its cover.

Enjoy your date!

The cards decided to come up with one so we thought we'll help out as well.

Signed: Tomoyo-chan, Kero-Chan, and the clear cards.

P.S: it was flight's idea

P.P.S: the cookies inside were made by Tomoyo-Chan.

P.P.P.S: you're cute as always Sakura-Chan!

"HOE?!" Sakura screamed, looking around her instinctively to see if there was anything filming her. Knowing Tomoyo-Chan, she had a feeling that she'll be filming the two of them somehow.

Realizing what Sakura was doing, Kero-Chan frantically grabbed Tomoyo's drone, flying upwards as fast as he could. Spotting a nearby cloud, he flew into it, not wanting Sakura to spot the two hidden cameras.

"This date... was a set up?" Syaoran asked, feeling his face burn with embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Sakura's face had also turned a bright red, the two of them flying in silence for the next few seconds.

Syaoran wanted to say something. However, he was speechless.

This has all been a set up...

"Shall we... eat the cookies?" Sakura questioned, finally breaking the silence. Syaoran nodded, remembering where he was and the situation he was in. He showed his approval, making the two of them proceed to open the bag of cookies, sharing the chocolate chip cookies among themselves.

"itadakimasu!" Sakura started their little 'feast' biting into one of the cookies.

"Yum! These are good!" Sakura took another bite, making Syaoran turn away just by blushing at her cuteness.

"They sure are." He answered back, finishing his own cookie. His face was still hot, and he could feel something burning deep down within his soul.

————————

Gale chuckled at the young couple, watching as they shared the cookies. As Sakura finished up the last cookie in the bag, a fabulous idea emerged in the clear card's head.

"Flight, let's add a phrase eight."

"What are you planning Gale?"

Gale would have smirked if it could.

"I would be giving these two teenagers the push they need."

"A what?" Flight questioned, only to get pushed forward by the wind gale produced. It felt itself jerk slightly, bumping into some kind of unknown object.

"Mm?!" Was all Flight heard as it tried to regain control of itself. However, flight didn't need to look to know what happened. Hearing the gale's cheers in the background was more than sufficient for it to find out what was happening.

"YESSS I MADE THEM KISS! I'M THE ULTIMATE SHIPPER!" Gale sang with joy, causing random motions of wind to be released in the wake of his extreme excitement.

"Sakura I'm so sorry!" Syaoran's voice reached the flight's ears.

Curious, flight looked up to see an extremely red Syaoran frantically apologizing to Sakura.

"I-it wasn't your fault!" Sakura shook her hands wildly, brushing off Syaoran's words. "It was the wind's! It pushed us into doing so!"

Flight smiled upon seeing their flustered faces.

Mission accomplished.

Author's note:

Ok. I know this sucks if you compare it to the previous chapter. However, it really isn't everyday I am able to write as well as that. I'll have to be extremely inspired to get that kind of quality in my writing.

And for that I'm sorry.

Still, take this short story that I've written while I'm half asleep (it's probably still full of errors that I'll edit another day)

Anyways, this would probably be the length of content in most of the one shots in this book. (Mainly because the first one was actually a short story comprising of 10 sub-chapters)

Lastly, I don't know who's reading this author's note but I hope that you have a good day/night Wherever you are.

See you guys in the next update!

Trivia: the story occurs directly after the episode where Sakura got the mirror card.
