The morning sun infiltrated the room through the floral curtains which were partially translucent, and I woke to find Harry's long limbs sprawled over me. He looked peaceful, his face was soft and angelic- like and I couldn't help but wonder if the information I had told him about myself had calmed him almost.
Untangling myself from him, I slowly left the room and made a beeline for the bathroom where I stood in front of the mirror for a while. I felt like myself again, like the person I was before Derek. Before I messed up my life.
After brushing my teeth for the first time in over a week, I went down the stairs to find Judy sitting by a window, smiling as the sun rose.
"I like watching the sun rise each morning, it instills some hope into me," her voice reminded me of my own grandmother who I hadn't seen in years.
"How so?" I asked before sitting beside her on a spare chair. The sky was a warm orange and glowed slightly through the glass of the window.
"If something as beautiful as a sunrise can exist on our measly planet, then anything is possible," she turns to me and looks on fondly as if I am her own grandchild, "I like you a lot Matilda."
"I like you too Judy," I reply back, feeling a growing bond between the pair of us, "But I don't want to impose on you. Harry and I will leave whenever you ask us to. We can even go today if you wish."
"No, no, no! You're staying here young girl! I need your help! I need your company. You are both welcome here for as long as you wish," she meant it, I could hear the sincerity in her voice as she spoke.
Our conversation was cut short when a sleepy Harry walked down the stairs, raking his hands through his hair. He gave us both a lopsided smile before heading the kitchen; I could hear him whistling as he made himself some toast.
"You too should go down to the beach today and admire the view, it's supposed to be sunny today," Judy raised her voice slightly so Harry could hear as well and she winked at me. At first she had believed that we were brother and sister, but we soon told her our situation- maybe leaving out the parts about stealing and breaking into houses.
"Sounds good," Harry walked out of the kitchen munching on toast and looking as adorably handsome as always.

The sea was in sight as we walked in comfortable silence through the sleepy village. Everyone was still in their houses despite it being almost midday.
The beach was empty except a dog walker who was too absorbed in stopping their dog from going in the sea to notice us. We perched on some large rocks, gazing out at the large expanse of water that was rippling before us. It was so peaceful and still, not roaring and crashing like I was so accustomed to.
"I never thought things would end up like this," Harry murmured to me as I watched the boats bobbing in the water in the distance, "I thought I was going to grow up and live a painfully boring life as a baker. It's not that I didn't enjoy it, but I always dreamt of bigger things."
"What kind of things?" I asked him quietly, not wanting to disturb the untouched serenity of the beach.
"I always wanted to sing, I was in a band with some of my friends. It was my passion, the thing I always saw myself doing. But now, I just don't see it happening," there was an air of depression in his voice, and I could tell that this wasn't some hobby. It wasn't a passing phase. Music was something he had been planning on doing until... Well until things turned sour for him.
"You're only fifteen, don't forget that you have your whole life ahead of you," I was speaking as though I was a wise person who knew everything the world had to offer. But I knew nothing. Nothing at all.
"Now my life is just running, moving places and reflecting on the past. Music doesn't really have a place in my life anymore," he whispered it to the gentle breeze that was passing us, almost as if he was letting go of something.
I watched him for a while as he looked out to the sea with glossy eyes and a trembling lip. He looked so young, so naive and vulnerable. I had never thought of him as young before, he was always an old soul in a teenager's body.
Suddenly a drop of rain hit the bridge of my nose and ran down onto my lips. Looking up at the sky, I noticed the foreboding grey clouds looking over us and I could tell that a storm was coming.
Little did I know that the real storm would hit later. And it didn't involve rain.
So this was a bit of a quiet chapter I know but things will get exciting soon I promise!
