I originally put this on my message board, but I decided to make this an update.

Most people have this generalization of all black fathers that I don't agree with.

People think they are just lowlifes who leave their kids at a young age , or go to jail.

I hate this stereotyping, because their are actually amazing black fathers out their.

Just because you experience with one wasn't good, doesn't mean all of them are like that.

I have a freind who's patents are divorced, but they never argued infront of her, to make sure her childhood was good.

Another ones parents divorce, but she still visits him and he loves her unconditionally.

My father has been their before my birth and is still here now.

I respect him because he is always trying to make sure our childhood was better than his was.

This may be a little short but I wanted to get to the point.

Fathers day is for bringing up and praising all fathers, not shooting them down because yours wasn't the best.

Instead of dissing on fathers, tell your mom that you appreciate her more.

Or whatever other male figure you have in your life.
