Chapter 2

"C'mon." He brought you to another table, no one else sat there, just you two.
"It's not as loud as it usually is, huh." He said.
You kept eating.
"There usually is someone else here."
You looked at him, your eyebrow arched.
"Yeah, his name is Tyson. But he's helping out dad in his palace."
". . ."
Percy continued trying to make conversation, but it always ended quickly.

Once dinner was over everyone emptied out of the pavilion. Percy took you to cabin three. A few beds were spread out and it was kind of spacious.
"You can just, you know, pick a spot and all."
You nodded and then there was a soft knock on the door. Percy opened it.
"Oh! It's you!"
You couldn't hear who it was.
"Yeah, she's here," a few seconds later percy called after you, "Nico's got something for you."
You make your way to the door, Nico stood there, in his hand was the glass shard. "I, uh, thought you probably wanted this."
"Thank you," you took took it and then you notice he had accidentally gotten cut by it. With your free hand you took his hand and gently wiped off the blood coming from the cut on his thumb. You felt you cheeks start to get a bit warm.
"T-thanks" he said, barley a whisper. You swear you saw a tint of pink in his cheeks.
"Oookkaaayy." You heard percy say and step between the both of you. Goodnight, Nico!" He said with a smile and shut the door. You gave Nico a small smile before percy sent him away.
You laughed.
Percy looked confused, "what?"
"You're already a protective 'brother.'
"What is so wrong about that, I wanna keep my little sister safe." He said.
"Thanks but I think I'm fine." You laughed. You placed the glass down on a drawer.
"That reminds me," Percy said, "when I first got here. I kept the minotaur horn with me. Minotaur," he added thoughtfully, "first monster I killed on my own." You both went to your separate beds, "Goodnight, (Y/n)."
"Goodnight, Percy."
Not to long after he called lights out you heard him lightly snoring. You sat in the dark, replaying the scenes of you abandoning your mother, killing the Hellhound, and being claimed.
.
.
.
Although you had been asleep for two days in a row you were unusually sleepy.
.
.
.
You walked through a marble floor path, though a forest. There was sunlight in the dream. Nearing the end of the path you smelled salty air and heard a gentle breeze.
A beach.
The wind whipped your (h/c) hair around. You strolled the beach until you heard a voice. You turn around, but nothing, paying your attention fowards again, you saw a man. He was tan and honestly. . .he looked like a surfer.
You could sense a great amount of power he had. "You are a God, aren't you?" You told him, not getting any closer.
"You got quite the eye. I am a god. Posiedon." He offered you his hand but you denied.
"What do you want?"
"Look, I know. I'm sorry for never helping you, I'm sorry I wasn't an actual dad for you bu-"
"What do you want." You knew better than to speak like that to a god, but you were mad, mad at them for letting it happen. 'Mother shouldn't have died.'
"It was her fate." He said.
Did he know what you were thinking?
"There are many reasons why this happened." He added.
You were quiet.
"I'm only here to warn you," He said. You fought to keep the tears from slipping from your (e/c) eyes.
He sighed, "carful. For your quest, I will give you a gift. It will be blessed by Gods, to help you on your journey. You don't have long to prepare, but I believe in you. Good luck."
With that he lightly ruffled your (h/c) hair and left.
.
.
.
Your eyes slowly opened, adjusting to the morning light. You sat up on the bed, looking for the glass. right there, where the shard used to be was a foot long dagger.
'Is that the gift he was talking about?'
The blade was made of glass. He made the glass shard into a weapon. . .
Why would he use the glass shard?

The dagger was very beautiful. It had a black hilt, decorated with a few, small, blood red rubies. The glass blade had a smooth edge and the other edge was toothy. The glass was was sleek and it went very well with its hilt.
You took it by its hilt and ran your fingers over the surface of the glass blade, "blessed by the Gods, aye?"
Once more, you stroked the edge of blade, "sharper than ever." With your thumb you wiped the blood off of the fingers you had slightly cut.

You looked out the window, the sun was rising. It was a nice morning indeed. You left your bed and headed to the bathroom.
Knock knock.
You heard the door. Opening the door you saw the girl called Annabeth holding, neatly, folded clothe. She gave you a friendly smile. "Thought you might be needing this." It was the same looking outfit you had on now. Orange 'CHB' t-shirt and blue jeans.
"Thank you. . .Annabeth." You said, taking the clothe. Before you could close the door she asked you how you were feeling. You simply told her what you did to everyone else. 'Well.'

You took a shower and got dressed and when you came out Percy wasn't there anymore. You took you new dagger sheath and wrapped it around your waist, the dagger hanging to your side. Suddenly Percy came in, "It's breakfast time and don't forget you have the tour of the camp, you also have to meet Mr.D an-and when did you get a weapon?" Not wanting to lie you told him about the dream. He gave you his full attention, which made you feel kind of nervous.
"You don't mind if I tell Annabeth, right?" He asked.
"No, I guess." You told him.
"I'll tell her after breakfast!" He started dragging you back to the picnic tables at the pavilion.
A lot of people were already enjoying their breakfast. It was almost like the dinner routine.

Chiron came to you afterwards and looked for someone to give you a tour.
He came back with the blonde boy you saw back at the infirmity.
"Please give our new recruit a tour of the camp, Will." Chiron wasn't in his wheelchair anymore, he was fully in centaur mode.
Will smiled at you and began the tour.

During the day the camp sure was full of activity. While Will started to ramble on about the Aphrodite you ditched him. It was so boring. He'd already spent over an hour with only a few cabins. There still more to come. "Hey! What are you doing?!" He yelled after you.
You glanced back at him, "you're boring!" You yelled back.
"Watch out!"
"Huh?" You turn you head, you were a little too close to someone, and it was too late. You accidentally bumped into someone. With a yelp from you and the person, you both fell onto the ground. You looked at his face, it was Nico. How come he doesn't have to were the camps uniform? He was wearing black again. "When do you plan to get off me?" He asked you rolling his eyes. You saw both your hands were at the sides of his head and you were hovering above him.
Your eyes widen, 'o-oh, how long have I been here like this?'
"I guess-" you felt him push you to the side and next thing you know, "-never." He had you pinned down in the same position you were before, only he was now on top. You saw him smirk and then he released you and got up. He took your hand and pulled you up with him. You set to run but he stopped you, "aren't you going to apologize?" You felt a little embarrassed, you were blushing a bit, and Will was after you. You just wanted to leave. "Apologize! I almost forgot, I'm so sorry."
As soon as he realized he was still holding your hand he quickly let go.
"Okay see you around!" You said but then two arms wrapped around you. One on your stomach and the other on your waist.
"Your not getting away from me this time," He said, "we still haven't finished the tour." He then slung you over his shoulder. You saw a glimpse of his blonde hair.
"Will!" You screamed in surprise.
"The one and only."
"Nico! He-" you looked up and saw, he wasn't there anymore.
'Ugh, where did he go?!'

For the rest of the tour of the cabins will had his arm around your shoulder, so you wouldn't run away, again. Eventually you growled, making him back off.
"Okay, moving on, activities!"
"Alright! Finally!" You cheer. He chuckled, "what do you want to look at fir-"
"Will, don't mind if I take (Y/n) for a bit?" Annabeth said as she ran up to you both.
"Oh, I don't mind."
Annabeth made a sign for you to go to her.
As you were walking with her, Will shouted, "don't forget to bring her back!" He smiled. Annabeth ignored him, "isn't he nice."
You walked by her side and did not say a thing. You really didn't know what to say about him, "I really don't know what to say."
She laughed and told you she was taking you to the brown house, there was a meeting.

A group of people already sat in a room. You stood at the door frame not knowing what to do.
"Take a seat." Percy said.
Chiron, Nico, some random pudgy dude, and now Annabeth sat at a table. You took a seat next to Nico and the meeting began.
"And who might you be?" The pudgy dude asked, he looked incredibly bored.
"My name is (Y/n)."
"Oh yeah, (Y/n), that's wine dude, Mr.D." Percy said. 'Wine dude' sent percy an evil glare. While Mr.D spoke you turned your attention to Nico, who kept twisting his skull ring. He stared into your (e/c) eyes, it almost seemed as he needed to talk to you.
"(Y/n)?"
Your gaze was now at the table.
"(Y/n)! I have very little patience, you know!"
"Huh? Wha-what?"
"I said, you only have about two weeks to prepare."
"Yes, prepare. . .for what?"
Mr.D growled, "for the quest."
"Why do you have to growl? You grouchy ol-"
"Ah-(Y/n), you will be doing some training, do you have anyone in mind to help you?" Percy cut in before you could say anything you would regret.
"Um. . .no, not really."
"M-maybe I could." Nico said. His gaze never left his ring. Everyone looked at him, "hey, hey, when did you get social?" Percy flailed his arms towards Nico.
"Shut up, Ariel Jackson!" Nico yelled.
"Ariel?! Do not call me Ariel!"
"Or what?"
"I am not a mermaid!" Percy mumbled to himself. You could tell Annabeth was holding back a laugh. But she wasn't the only one, everyone else too.
"Look, brats, I don't have to time to waste with you all. The quest has been made. (Y/n) will be the leader. She was the only one who was specified. Now we only need two volunteers."
"What was the quest?" You asked.
Chiron shuffled in his chair, "you must return to your home. Apparently your mother has to do something with this. Returning to your home; you will know more."
Is she alive?
"Why can't I go now?" You shouted. You wanted to go now. Maybe your mother was still alive. Maybe she was waiting for you.
"Because you can't."
"Who says."
"You don't have any training. We are not sure of what you can do an-"
"I can fight. I can even fight anyone in this room. Who's your best?"
"Percy bu-"
"I'll take him on," you looked at Percy, "I challenge you."
He had an emotionless expression. He didn't say a thing. You looked around the room, Chiron's grim stare disapproved, Annabeth looked stunned as well as Nico.
A chuckle cut through the air. 'Wine dude' looked a bit intrigued, "Alright, let's go settle this. C'mon, big talk, let's see what you can do." He stood from his chair and walked out the room.
"(Y/n), don't do this." Percy said trying to change your mind.
"No, Percy, I need to do this." You told him, determination was in your voice.
You followed after Mr.D to the sword fighting grounds.

You stood across Percy. The sun was high in the sky and a crowd had begun to surround you. You heard whispers and mutters coming from the crowd, "there's no way she can beat him."
"Hope she's ready to lose."
"What is she thinking, challenging him."
"This is barley going to last a minute."
To be honest those comments were a bit of a downer but you were sort of ready for them.
"Let the challenge begin!" Chiron shouted, he didn't sound happy at all with your choice to battle Percy.

"Don't go easy on me. I want to see what you can do Percy Jackson." He smirked although his eyes were full of concern. He didn't want to fight you because he was afraid you might be too weak. That thought just made you angry. He took out a pen and uncapped it, immediately, it turned into a long sword. He held the sword in front of him, ready to attack and defend.
You took out your dagger. It felt right in your hand, it felt like it belonged there. You saw the glint of the blade and began got in a defense stanza, ready for his attack.

He was quick and graceful. You were just as good with your dagger as he was with his sword. He parried most of your attacks and you dodged most of his. He grazed your leg and you took the chance and slashed at his arm. Blood beginning to drop. Noticing you were well trained with a weapon he stopped holding back. You tried harder now too.
It seemed to go on forever until he finally manged to land an actual hit. His sword edge was deep in the skin of your arm.
That's when everything went black.
.
.
The sound of his sword clattering made you snap out of it. You noticed you had him pinned. The point of your dagger was barley and inch away from his precious throat. His eyes were wide with astonishment. You looked into his eyes and then saw a drop of blood fall on his cheek, then another. You got up and scanned through the crowd, everyone observed you in amazement. Only a few claps came from the crowd.
You wiped the blood leaking from your cheek and put your dagger back in its sheath.
"It seems as if (Y/n) is the champion of this match." Chiron announced.
You gave your hand to percy and hauled him up.
"Wow, you are. . .awesome!" He said. He was out of breath and slouching with exhaustion. You gave him a small smile that soon faded because a pain started to flow in your body. Nico and Annabeth ran to catch you both before you fell. Annabeth had Percy and Nico had you. Nico slung your arm around his shoulder and picked you up bridal-style. "You did amazing." He whispered in your ear as you fell asleep.
