Chapter 12

((This is from the sequel!! Im deleting it and adding it here!! And adding fluff nowwww))

It was night, you were alone and training as quietly as possible. You heard the sound of feet shuffling in the snow. You quickly whipped around and pointed you sword towards the sound. "It's just me." Nico put his hands up in surrender. "Sorry about that." You said, long the blade. "I wanted to ask you something." Nico grabbed your wrist and pulled you away from your training. "Nico, what are you doing?"
.
.
.
He pulled you to the creek and up onto the big boulder. He sat down, hugging his knees. You sat next to him wondering why her brought you here. "I-I. . ." Even though it was night, you could see how red his face was getting.
"You. . .?" You urged him to speak.
"I would like if you and I could go on more missions together and I was wondering if you'd like to join me and be by my side." He stuttered out. He couldn't deny the feeling in his stomach, the skeletal butterflies in a frenzy.
"You're terrible at this, Nico!" A voice said. Nico jumped a little, surprised.
"Hey, my name is Leo and my fellow amigo(friend) wants to ask you out." He pointed his index fingers at you and then shifted them to point at Nico, raising an eyebrow. "What do you say, pretty lady?"
"Leo?" Nico said calmly.
"Yeah?"
"Run."
"That's my ticket outta here. Everyone! Go, go, I repeat; go!" He ran away, the sound of shuffling following. How many people were spying?
Nico scratched the back of his neck and stared down, "so. . .what do you say?"
"I say yes. I want to go on more missions with you. I want to be by your side, fight by your side, until the end." You lay a hand on his shoulder, "I want to be your wings. Together, we can reach the sky." He quickly wrapped his arms around you, surprising you.
He was happy to have someone like you by his side.

"A hug from you is enough to make me forget the world. Enough to make me smile with genuine happiness. What would be of me without you?" Nico hugged you tighter, eyes a little teary with happiness.

"What would I have become without you? You are what keeps me anchored to sanity. . .because knowing I have you here, I don't want to leave. . ." You leave him a kiss on the cheek and give him a warm smile. Yeah! He did it. They're official!" They whispered very quietly.
.
.
.
.

You gave him a good night kiss making his heart flutter a bit. It was the first time you kissed like a "normal" cupple. No deadly injuries, no death ready to snatch one of you away. A kiss in the silence with brilliant stars glimmering. Your warmth slowly engulfing him. When you broke apart he was blushing madly. How cute. His hair was a tad wet from the snowflakes that had fallen and melted on his head. You brushed his damp hair away from his beautiful brown eyes and cupped his rosy cheeks. They were surprisingly warm in the cold. "Goodnight, Nico." You smiled and left him at his cabin.

Percy had become accustom to your preference to late night training so he no longer questioned where you went during some nights.
You were quiet to sneak back into your cabin, not wanting to wake Percy. He was always asleep when you'd return.
Except tonight, this night he was wide awake. He sat on his bed staring down in the dark. "Percy, what are you doing awake?" You asked while you flicked the lights on.
"Couldn't sleep. . ." He simply said. His scowl turning to a worried look as he switched his gaze to you. He got out of bed and hugged you, "you don't deserve this. . . You've already been through so much. . ."
"What are you going on about, Percy?" You were a bit too worried and surprised to hug him for a bit.
"I. . . Goddamn it! Why did I even open my mouth when I'm not supposed to!" He cursed himself. "Chiron wanted to tell you himself. As much as I want to respect his decision I. . ." He paused before opening the cabin door, "get some sleep. You must be tired." You heard the quiet click of the light switch, the door closed quietly and you were left standing in the dark. As much as you wanted to ask him what he was talking about. . . You knew he didn't want to talk about it. What don't I deserve. . .? What's going to happen?

You took a shower and got ready for what tomorrow held. It was late but you stayed awake a bit longer, maybe Percy would return soon.

He did not.

You ended up falling asleep before he could return.
.

.

.
You lied on the black glass. Your throat burned and you sight faltered. You tried to get up but you couldn't move a muscle. You stared at the red clouds passing by.
You gasped suddenly, a pain shot through your leg. "Ahahah, this is so much fun! Aren't you having fun?" Arachne. . .! "What the hell do you want?" You heard her laugh. Next was your throat. It no longer burned but you found it impossible to breathe. It just hurt to much! It wasn't Arachne but something else. It was sinking it's teeth into your throat!
.

"I-I thought this was over. . ." You thought out loud.
Ha. . .! Over? It's just begun, my sweet dear (y/n). . .!
You recall hearing those words in your sleep. You didn't recognize the cooing voice.

You barley slept. The nightmare-- the worry for Percy. The sun hadn't even peeked out.
You listened for any sounds and light snoring could be heard. You were happy to see that Percy was sleeping, he seemed to need it. You knew your (h/c) hair was messier from all the tossing and turning. You ran through it with your fingers then with a brush.

"How. . .lovely. . ." You heard, making your head shoot up. The voice still lives inside you. You tried to ignore it. You quickly braid your (h/c) hair with slightly trembling fingers. A long black ribbon holding it together.

"Don't forget this." You could hear the waves, the water roaring. Smell the salt in the air, in the wind slapping at you. Feel the warm sand under your feet, the warmth of the sun surrounding you, despite how early in the morning it was at camp half blood.
You snapped your head around; Posiedon was holding your glass blade. "I made this just for you." He joked. You didn't look him in the eye, you didn't say a thing. You lost that in tartarus.

"How did you get it. . .?"
"That is of no matter. Here." He offered you the dagger. You reached out for it but then stopped yourself. It only served as a memory.

A memory that made you stronger. . .!

You thought you heard the damned voice speak but. . . You ignored your feelings towards the blade and took it once again. He had gotten the dagger that you had forgotten in tartarus. He was able to retrieve it.
"Why couldn't you help us but instead this knife. . .?! Why couldn't you help Ni-"
You didn't feel warmth, you couldn't smell the air scent anymore; you were just staring up at your cabin ceiling, holding a dagger of glass.
The sun was finally up, too. You got up from bed and headed to the Hades cabin, looking for Nico. You knocked on his cabin door and waited.
And waited. . .
And waited. . .
He didn't open, he must've still been sleeping. You sighed, he was one of the only friends you had at the camp.

You saw Percy talking to Chiron by the brown house. "Chiron wanted to tell you himself." You recall him saying. You rushed towards them.

Even though it's been a while, at least it seems, since your breakdowns you still got dirty glares from some campers. You were just glad Clarisse was there, her glares; you hate them the most. She was on some mission. No matter how much she dislikes you and the conflict between you two, you still hoped she and everyone always returns safely.

"Chiron, you needed to tell me something?" You surprised him, he hadn't noticed you.
"Yes, actually. . ."
You nodded, signaling for him to go on. Chiron decided it was best if you talked about this where it was less crowded, so the three of you headed away from the cabins that were bustling.
"I know it hasn't been long since. . . We need you on another mission."
"I tried to convince him that it's too early, you're still in recovery, that you can't--!" Percy said angrily.
"If they need me, then that's what they'll get. I'll try." You said, determined.
"What! (Y/n)!"
"I'm perfectly capable of this. I can go on this mission."
"We'll discuss further more later." Chiron excused himself and left. Percy frowned, and also left. You sighed and stood alone.
When you turned around you saw Nico with an unreadable look. "You're taking the mission. . .?" What was that in his voice? Something that made you feel guilty, somehow.
"I. . .am." He began to walk near you.
"Being a demigod, it's not uncommon to get hurt. But you've already been through a lot! And I don't want you to go through anything like that again!" Nico didn't know why he was like this. It wasn't really like him. He really cares for you. "It's okay, really." You tried to assure him.
You two were getting close, very close. "Really?" One of his hands cupped your face.
"Really."
You began to blush. He began to blush. You two were flushed. Your lips touched and you began to kiss.

He was so shy and flustered that you had his back against a tree.

You broke the kiss and backed off and when you did he was still so flushed it was funny. He dissappeared into the shadows with a quite yelp. He accidentally shadow traveled.
"He acts like we've never kissed." You laughed to yourself, though you were still a bit concerned about the mission.

You wandered away, it was time for breakfast.
