Flower's Fight
She felt frozen solid. Her left hand hovered above the table, while the small piece of cake fell from it. (F/n) meant to hold onto the sweet treat, but her body wouldn't listen to her. Did she really mutter his name in her sleep? The (h/c)-haired girl couldn't remember her dream last night, so she had no way of knowing. Overall, she just didn't know how to feel. There was a mixture of embarrassment, anger, confusion and several other emotions that she couldn't describe at the time. Still, how was he able to hear her? Was he watching her sleep, or did he even really hear her mumble his name? Perhaps, he was making this up to mess with her.
Regardless, any wish to sleep later on in the evening had vanished. She didn't want him to hear her say anything else in her sleep. Even more so, she didn't want him in her room, while she slept. Granted, she really didn't wish for him to be in her room at anytime. Just thinking of the possibility of him standing there beside her bed, while she was lost in sleep, was unnerving. There was the time when she had awoken to him being in her room in the morning. Could he have been there for the whole night, though?
Wrapping her head around all of this, she didn't see Edgar removing his hands from her shoulders. She was just too worried about the implications of his statement. Thankfully, however, movement was beginning to return to her. (F/n) picked up the fallen cake and placed it back on the rose-pink glass plate. Afterwards, she placed her hands on her lap and stared at the table.
On the other hand, Edgar moved from behind her to her right side. His left hand gripped the right chair arm before he quickly turned her chair around, so that she could face him. He noticed that he had startled her but that only caused a small smirk to grace his lips. She leaned back into her chair more, attempting to get away from him, but she could only get so far.
He extended his right hand and arm forward, which caused her to flinch a little bit. His grin widened ever so slightly, as he picked up one of the cakes from the glass plate. With his left hand, he gently encircled his fingers around her left wrist. Lifting her wrist, he placed the cake in her hand. "You should at least enjoy one full sweet before we head back. Sitting there and staring off into space isn't going to grant you any benefit."
Her (e/c) eyes looked down at the petit four before peering back up at Edgar. "I don't want your suggestion nor do I want this cake," she muttered out, her voice taking on a lower tone. Of course, he would attempt to brush aside what he just said. If he wished for her to enjoy the snacks on the table, he should've kept his mouth shut. In fact she had the perfect solution.
Gripping his left wrist with her right hand, she removed his fingers from her left wrist. She spared no time to make her next action, as she raised her left hand and moved it towards Edgar's face. Within moments the cake made contact with his face.
Satisfied with her action, she wiped the leftover cake remains on her hand onto the top of Edgar's head. She hoped that he would have a hard time getting the cake and frosting out of his hair. Having accomplished her payback, she turned on her heel and headed out of the gazebo. "Some relaxing afternoon snack that was," she mumbled to herself, as she headed for the forest path. Still, she couldn't deny that the garden was absolutely beautiful. At another time she would come back. Right now, she needed to get away from Edgar.
Wiping the frosting and cake from his face, he grabbed one of the crème colored napkins that had been brought out with the tea and cakes. After he had cleaned his hands, he set the napkin down and decided not to worry about his hair. He was going to get a shower later in the night anyway. In reality he wasn't expecting her to do that, but her reaction was entertaining. It was even more amusing, since he had made that fact up. Granted, he would've relished having his name being whispered in his beloved's sleep.
Of course, there was some truth to his statement. Technically, it was implied, though. He had been in her room last night; however, he had good reason to be. His brother was in the west wing, and Edgar couldn't have him meeting (f/n). Edgar had confronted his brother about why he was in the upper west wing, and his sibling had confirmed his fear. Frederic desired to see his latest employee. Well, he wouldn't let his brother even have a look at his charming (f/n). So, he made it his job for the night to guard her. He wouldn't put it past Frederic to sneak into her room to meet her. It wasn't difficult staying up the whole night, since it meant the protection of his beloved.
Knowing that he had good intentions for being in her room last night, he turned to face the path in the forest. He could just see (f/n)'s form. Her (h/c) hair flowed elegantly, as she stepped further into the forest. There wasn't confidence in her steps but rather an evident sense of hurry. She desired to get away from him, to create as much distance as possible. Well, he supposed that he had uttered something embarrassing.
When her form had disappeared from sight, his lips upturned into a wide grin. Giggling, he spoke out loud but not loud enough for her to hear, "Distance means nothing to me, my dearest muse. Try, oh do try, to turn your back away from me. Let me tell you this, though. Every time you do so, I will turn you back around, so that you will face me. You adore me, beloved, and I will remind you of that every day."

Edgar had just left for the store to check the stock, leaving (f/n) to search for a second car. She usually showered when he was gone, so she made sure to do this before she checked for the car. If she didn't, he would suspect that something was up. To give herself ample time to search, though, she rushed through her shower.
Finishing, she changed into new undergarments and a matching pajama set in the hue of pale pink. She didn't put on her pink slippers, so that she could create less sound. The servants were still around, and they would likely report her to Edgar if they saw her sneaking around. It was weird that she did have to creep around the place where she lived, but she didn't want Edgar to accompany her to town. Evidently, he didn't understand that she needed her space.
Maybe, he did by giving her this time when he went into town, but it wasn't enough. Besides, she was still stuck in the house, and she wished to get out of it for a little bit. Thus, it made sense to look for a reasonable mode of transportation into town. She seriously cursed her dependence upon modern transportation, though, since she lacked such a thing at the moment. Sighing at her predicament, she quietly left her room before closing the door.
Examining both ends of the hall, she saw none of the house staff. So, she swiftly made her way down the hall. She progressed speedily down the stairs as well. Once she reached the bottom of the steps, she headed in the direction of the garage. (F/n) only knew the location of the garage, since she had seen it from the outside of the house.
Heading down the lower west wing, she passed Edgar's workshop and towards the end of the hall. She figured that the garage door had to be one of the last doors in the hall. With this in consideration, she tested them. Much to her annoyance, two of them were locked. The other two led to another supply closet and a small sitting room. Still, she wasn't surrendering yet; she had come prepared.
Despite the locked doors being a nuisance, she did have a resolution. Taking one of the bobby pins from her hair, she kneeled in front of one of the locked doors. She inserted the metal hairpiece into the lock and moved it around until she heard a click. A smile spread on her lips, when she heard her success.
Standing up, she rested her right hand on the doorknob and turned it. Once she had the door open, she peered inside to see multiple sets of bedroom furniture. In one of the three beds in the room, she saw someone sleeping soundly. She realized that the house staffs' rooms must have been on this side of the house. Since she had no intention to wake up the sleeping worker, she steadily and quietly closed the door. Hopefully, no one would question the fact that the door was unlocked.
(F/n) moved onto the next door and proceeded with the same steps. As soon as the door was open, she looked inside to see what she wanted. Going into the garage, she closed the door behind her, as she turned on the light in the space. A simple wall fixture illuminated the area, which had a cement floor and beige walls. Within the area the item, which she wished for, was there.
Personally, she was expecting there to be a sports car. Instead of an expensive vehicle, she found a simple four-door dark blue car. Walking over to the car, she peered through the windows and saw that the seating inside was incredibly nice. All of the seats were upholstered with black leather.
Since she saw the inside, she stepped away from the car and looked around the area again. She still needed the keys to the car, but she didn't see them in the room. It's not like they could be hidden, since there was only the car in the garage. Noting this, she went to leave the garage but realized there was another spot. (F/n) went back over to the car and got on her hands and knees.
Peering underneath the car, she examined the space for any sign of the wished for item. Sadly, she didn't find any. Disappointed, she remained on her knees and wondered how she could get into town without Edgar going with her. There just had to be a way.
