Shikamarus pov

I held neji close as he lay sleepily against my shoulder. The poor boy's been put through hell these past few hours and yet he hasn't complained or cried once. That boy's amazing. No wonder I fell in love with him.

We were travelling back home in my carriage. The kidnapper's were from the edge of town so it would take a good hour or so before we reached home. Luckily the cushions on our seats and my shoulder made it comfortable enough for neji to sleep.

Suddenly a stone in the road made the carriage shake, causing neji to stir "Mmm" he nuzzled closer into my chest in a half sleepen daze.

"Shh it's alright dear" I murmured some soothing words in his ears "it was just a bump in the road. Go back to sleep"

He murmured something unintelligible before falling back asleep. I brushed a strand of hair away and planted a kiss on his forehead.

"You must be glad to have him back" Naruto whispered from the front of the carriage.

"More than you could ever know" I smiled softly.

"I told you you loved him" he said teasingly. I rolled my eyes fondly before turning back to neji with a smile. His sleeping face was so adorable. I never wanted to go a day without him again.

"Man hinata will be so relieved to see neji return safely. I can't wait to give her the good news"

"Well you won't have to wait for long" I looked out the window "we're home"
