Chapter 2, Shiratorizawa

Third POV

Soon after Ameri had picked up Shirome, they immediately hopped on the car seat and drived to Miyagi. They arrived and unpacked their things they brought into their seperate hotel rooms. They were changing into casual clothes, preparing to go to the place Ameri's cousin will be playing at. (Shirome: white long sleeved shirt under black skirt overalls and black high top vans with black stockings. Ameri: oversized ruby shirt tucked in high waisted ripped jeans and red high cut converse. They wore their hair loose.)

They exited together and took the bus to the place, Shirome taking long to convince the driver to go back without them.

They finally reached the place and went to find Ameri's cousin.

"Look! There's that freak quick again! It's so fast that I doubt the setter even touched it."

Shirome's ears perked up and got interested in what a random girl was talking about.

"Ameri, I'll just watch this match here, you go on ahead," She told Ameri.

Ameri gave her a thumbs up and skipped to what Shirome assumed where Shiratorizawa's match is occuring.

Ameri told her that she has a cousin in Shiratorizawa, one of the powerhouse schools.

Turning back to the match, she was amazed.

Crows and Royalties.

The match between Karasuno and Aoba Johsai is surprisingly intense. Shirome watches with a blank face, occasionally blinking. She was analyzing them, looking at their weak points and observed their strongest. She tried her best to ignore some stares.

The match was really exciting and intense, but what excited Shirome was that certain move.

It was a quick that she practiced with her brother a long time ago in the beach, but ever since her brother became busy they stopped playing.

She frowned at the memory and leaned even more.

#9 and #10...Shiro said in her mind.

Ameri came back, "So I just realized they won't be starting soon."

"I want to get a better look," She said, not taking her eyes off of the duo.

Ameri gave her a thumbs up, "Okey, I'll buy us juice from a nearby vending machine."

"Don't get lost, Ameri," Shiro said seriously and the libero saluted.

She went down the bleachers and got close as she can and watched the duo. She was really mesmerized.

She missed playing beach volleyball with her brother at the beach. It brings back happy memories. When things aren't as stressful as it is for her now and her brother having a lot of free time.

After a few rally, Ameri came back and handed her a small milk carton.

"I like them. Karasuno," Shiro said, her eyes unblinking and shining at them. She sipped on the straw from the box, "But,"

Ameri was curious, "But..?"

She looked at her with a slight sparkle in her eyes, "They can fly higher."

Ameri hummed and watched them with her.

One of the things Ameri admired about Shirome is that she can see the potential of anyone, and foresee their strongest. Opponent or not she helps whoever she thinks has high potential. She has immense faith in anyone.

One guy also spiked her interests, it was their setter. He has good composture and Shirome can tell he brings out the best in any of his spikers. It almost seemed scary.

Although with a strong feeling that the crows will lose, she still watched with interest.

The match ended and Aoba Johsai won.

It made her a little bit sad seeing Karasuno devastated, but it still was a nice game.

Shirome sighed, "Is your cousin's match starting soon?"

Ameri nodded, "Yeah, they're gonna start soon actually. Let's go."

Shirome followed her and went to another side of the court. It says Shiratorizawa and Ohgiminami. It was sad sight to see because Ohgiminami is struggling hard to secure even a single point.

"Who's your cousin?" Shirome asked, eyes not moving at Shiratorizawa.

"The one with bright red hair like mine, number 5. His name is Satori Tendou, he's a middle blocker," She paused to sip from her juice box, "He's really good at guess blocking and reading. It's terrifying," She shivered.

"Hm," The gradient head hummed and finished her carton of milk.

Whistle

"Kya, there was no helping that, that number 1 sure does spike rough," Shirome said.

Ameri raised a brow, "Didn't you met him, like, a week ago? You know, the ace party?" She asked, confused.

Shirome shook her head, "Schedule is too busy. I couldn't stay for long so I just signed my name and greeted some people who hosted the party, but that was it," She said, throwing her empty carton in a nearby trash bin, "I bumped into Koutaro though, but I was only able to introduce myself and had small convo."

Ameri hummed in response. Shirome put her mask back on as they make their way to Shiratorizawa team.

"Satori-kun!" Ameri called, earning a few stares.

"Aye! Ame-chan!" The tall redhead threw his arms up and gave her a quick hug.

Ping!

Shirome felt her phone ring with a notification, signalling that she got a message.

From: Kuro

4:02 PM

I'm hurt that you didn't tell me you were out on a trip at Miyagi, but I can tolerate your absence I guess. By the way I got caught up in collecting as much notes as I can for you and organizing the school works and homeworks I took from your teachers (some from your classmates). I also got detention because I broke one of the water fountains. Be safe there! I won't suffer here if you text me okay?

Shirome sighed a little at Kuro's efforts and stupid reason for being in detention. Her small smile was covered in her mask, but Ameri could feel the fluff that was radiating off of the ½n½.

Satori glanced at the girl, excusing himself from the team, "Oh? Is she your friend?" The boy asked as Ameri looked at Shirome.

"Yeah, I brought her with me. We'll only stay until tomorrow because we have a match on Saturday," Ameri explained.

She tapped on Shirome's shoulder, "Hey, this is my cousin," Ameri chirped.

Shirome turned her phone off and put it away, slightly bowing to the tall redhead, "Hi."

"I'm Ameri's friend, Shirome Furumi," She introduced as Satori grinned at her, amused.

"Hello there, Furumi-chan! Thanks for looking out for my cousin, she can be chaotic sometimes," He laughed as he patted Ameri's head.

Shirome furrowed her brows, "Sometimes? Isn't she always chaotic?" She halfly joked.

Satori bursted out laughing hard as Ameri whined, complaining at how the gradient head and the red head teased her.

"Well, you have to go back to your team now. We'll head back to the hotel we were staying at," Ameri told the redhead.

"Oh! Come with us to Shiratorizawa! Coach won't mind," He paused, "I think. Let's go home together, it's not safe to go back home as girls."

"It's only almost 5," Ameri raised a brow.

Satori grinned, "Does time matter? Come on."

Shirome and Ameri glanced at each other as they agreed at Satori's invitation.
