Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Dimensions
Killian's P.O.V
"Who's your father?" I asked. The girl looked at me and smiled sadly. Gods, that smile reminded me of my brother. It was odd, looking at her. It was like I was watching both Emma and Liam's ... Or perhaps my... Smile.
"I'm not too sure you're ready to know, Killian," she said, walking towards me, "I wouldn't want to mess up the past. Oh right, I forgot to mention that, didn't I? I'm from the future,"
"But... That's only been done once," David said. "That doesn't mean it can't be done again. Fifteen years in the future," the girl, Annabelle, replied. "To answer you question, Killian, you. You're my father," she said.
I dropped the sword that I had in my hand, and as it clattered to the ground, I heard David gasp beside me, and then I heard another voice, Emma's, behind us. "What?!?"
Emma's P.O.V
I decided that I'd had enough of sitting around all day. After I found out how I woke up, I walked in to my room, changed out of the sweat pants I'd been wearing and put jeans on. Then, I went over to the door, took my red leather jacket and left the loft, leaving Belle in charge of the kids.
She said she could handle them, and I needed to help. I felt like, between spending a week hiding after Killian was taken hostage and then being "dead" for a three days, I was being a pretty useless saviour.
I found Killian and David in the middle of the street, talking to a young girl. She looked around Henry's age, maybe slightly older. I didn't hear what they were saying at first, but when I got closer, I heard the girl say, "-Killian, you. You're my father," my jaw dropped. Killian sword clattered to the ground.
"What?!?" I exclaimed. David turned around quickly. "Emma! Wha-what are you doing here?" He asked. I ignored his question. "Who are you?" I demanded. The girl looked like she was about to cry.
"Mom?" She said, a single tear streaming down her cheek. "Excuse me? Who the hell are you?!?" I asked again. "My- my name's Annabelle. I'm your... I'm your daughter. I'm from the future..." She trailed off and started crying.
I just stared at her, my eyes opening wider in realization. She had just told Killian that he was her father. She just called me mom. "You're- we have a child?" I looked at Killian in awe.
Annabelle nodded and I instantly felt the need to walk up to her and hug her, to tell her that her mom was right here, that I'd protect her. I did just that. "I haven't seen you in seven years, I'm sorry I burst out like that," she sobbed.
Killian, who had fallen to his knees in shock slowly got up and joined us. The three of us hugged, while David looked on, a proud expression on his face. I took Annabelle by the shoulders. "What are you doing here?" I asked softly. She sighed and told us the story.
*********
"So... In your timeline, Killian gets killed tomorrow?" I asked. Annabelle nodded. The three of us were sitting on a bench in the park. "Wait... Swan, if she says I die tomorrow are you...?" Killian trailed off, knowing full-well that I knew what he meant.
"Killian! I don't know! It was yesterday!" I hit his arm lightly. "Whoa, okay, I don't want to hear about you guys doing that... I'm gonna..." Annabelle started to get up. I laughed and walked beside her. "So you came to save him?" I asked.
"Well, his death led up to everything that I just told you, so yes. I figure, if I save him, I save you all," she sighed. "It's okay. We'll stop it from happening. How exactly does he die, sweetie?" I touched her cheek gently. She was tearing up again.
"I'm really sorry, like I said, you died when I was seven and I haven't seen you since," she laughed, "he-he goes after Elsa. To protect you father, he jumps in the way of an icicle she blasted at him. He got... Impaled... And he died in the hospital later that day. Elsa went into hiding for ten years. Believe it or not, she does have a conscience. Mary Margaret and David got fed up with the cold she had cursed the town with for ten years. Eventually they went after her. She killed them both, leaving Henry to take care of Neal and I," she explained.
"Wait, what about Neal, Henry's father, and Regina? Did they not help?" Killian asked. "I never met Henry's father... He died a year before I was born, trying to protect everyone from the Wicked Witch... And Regina... Well, she'd never help us. She's always hated us," Annabelle replied, looking just as confused as I was.
"Wait, so Neal never came back to life? Regina still hates everyone? That... Doesn't sound right... Come on, were going to see Gold," I decided. "Gold?" She asked. "Rumplestiltskin," I explained.
"He's dead. He died killing Peter Pan, right?" She asked. "Well, yes, but Neal brought him back to life. Neal died, but when the Dark One curse broke Neal came back. Is that not what happened in your timeline?" Killian replied.
"Not... Not at all," She frowned. "Come on, let's go talk to him," I said.
When we got to Rumple's shop, he rolled his eyes as we burst in. David had called off the search for Elsa, so my parents had gone home to take care of the boys. Belle was back at the shop with Rumple.
"Whatever you've got yourself into now, dearie, I'm afraid I'm out of the business," he sighed. Killian rolled his eyes. "Bloody drama queen," he muttered. "I can still hear, you know,"
"Okay, enough. Rumple, you may not have magic, but you still know quite a bit about it. This is Annabelle. She's... Our daughter, from the future. She came back to save everyone, but she says that you and Neal never came back to life. And that Regina is still evil," I explained.
"That sounds... interesting. Annabelle, tell me more about your past," Annabelle explained to Rumple how, when she was born, her mother... Me... I was depressed because of Killian's death. She explained how everyone she cared about died. She told Rumple that, no, he never came back to life, Neal died trying to bring him back to life and that Zelena captured him and literally stole his brain. Instead of figuratively like she did here for Rumple. She killed Neal by doing that, obviously.
Annabelle told us that Zelena was the one to cast the curse that brought us all back to Storybrooke, not my parents, and that Henry and I went to the Enchanted Forest with everyone else. Killian and I fell in love in that year and got married. The curse was broken when the two of us kissed on what we thought was out first date, because the curse year erased our memories of falling in love and being married.
"You loved to tell me about him," She said. I laughed and looked at Rumple. "Well? The verdict?" I asked.
"Yes, it appears that you daughter is from another dimension. An alternate universe if you will. From the moment Pan enacted the curse to bring everyone back to our land, the opposite of some major moments that happened here took place from where she's from. So, you and Henry going to New York never happened. The opposite -you two going back with them- happened. You and Killian fell in love in the Enchanted Forest instead of here. Me staying dead instead of being brought back to life. Neal being captured instead of me. Zelena casting the Dark Curse instead of your parents. I'm sure you get the idea," Rumple explained.
"Um, okay? That's, um, that's great. So what? We send her back to the past where she had no one? I don't want to do that to her!" Killian said. Rumple shook his head. "I'm uncertain of the pattern here, I mean obviously some things stayed the same. Emma's parents having a child and naming him Neal, as she and her Uncle Neal were close in age," he said.
"Belle and I will do some research on it. We'll try to figure it out, but don't think I'm not annoyed that you're dragging me into this right after I thought I got out of it," Rumple said.
Killian smiled sympathetically. "Apologies, mate. Thank you for helping," he said, getting a small smile and nod in return from Rumple.
"So, Annabelle, you hungry?" I asked. Annabelle nodded. "Okay, how does lunch at Granny's sound?" I asked. "That sounds great," she smiled. With that, Killian and I took our... Our daughter... To lunch at Granny's. I wondered how many people we'd have to explain how we suddenly had a teenage daughter to.
