I'm sorry...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emma couldn't take it anymore. Her magic was only a burden to her and everyone around her.
It's not like she hadn't been herself after it had been taken before.
If anything, it made her better when she lost it.
No, without her magic, Emma wouldn't have any problems, she'd be a better daughter, a better sister, a better mother... A better girlfriend.
Emma knew what needed to be done.
*******
Killian didn't sleep that night.
After leaving the Charmings' loft, he went back into the forest, hoping, wishing, praying he could find his Swan.
He searched everywhere that night, showing up exhausted the next morning to get David and continue their search.
David sighed as soon as he saw Killian with dark circles under his eyes, a slight slump to his shoulders, but the determination still there.
Killian didn't care. He was going to find his Swan.
*******
Emma barely got any sleep that night either.
As she sat in her car, overlooking the town that she'd grown to love, yet fear, she thought of the irony.
That must be what my family thinks. They may love me, but they're also scared of me...
She wondered if any of them were looking for her. If they even cared.
Emma went back into town that afternoon.
She'd simply sneak into the pawn shop, make a deal with Mr. Gold, stock up on food, maybe hide out in the woods for a few more days before returning, still Emma, but no longer monster.
*******
Killian didn't know what else to do.
This was the last thing he wanted to do, but if it helped him get Emma back, it was well worth it.
He marched into the crocodile's shop, ready to make yet another deal.
He was going to destroy himself with all these deals...
Rumplestiltskin sighed as he walked into the shop.
"Dearie, you really are getting in over your head," he said.
"I need to find Emma. Cook up some spell or something that brings me to her," Killian demanded.
Before Rumple could answer, Emma walked in the store.
Killian ran to her and scooped her into his arms, wrapping his arms tightly around her waist.
"Killian..." She sighed into his shoulder.
*******
Emma did not expect to find Killian in there with Gold.
Before she could make a mad dash back for her car though, she found herself in his arms.
She didn't struggle. His strong arms were comforting and made Emma question her motive.
He doesn't mind that I have magic...
But the rest of my family does...
"Killian..." She whispered, leaning her head on his shoulder.
"Emma, I swear, if you do that again, my old age just might get the better of me..."
"I'm sorry. I need to do something though," she said.
"Emma?" He started but she waved her hand and froze Killian.
Not froze him with ice, just froze him so that he couldn't stop what was about to happen.
Emma was surprised she didn't hurt him and that she was able to control that spell, but she didn't want to take any chances.
*******
Five minutes later, Emma had made a deal with Gold to take her magic.
Emma promised to make sure Killian stayed away from Rumple.
She held the potion that promised to remove her powers in her hand at the park, sitting at a bench.
As she raised the blue liquid to her lips, she heard an all too familiar voice behind her.
*******
"Emma, no!" Killian cried, horrified at what she was about to do.
Emma turned around, and sighed.
"Killian, I'm sorry, but this will make everything better. Ingrid will leave, my parents won't fear me and us... We'll be closer. You don't have to worry that I'll hurt you!"
"Emma, I am not worried that you'll hurt me. I know you won't. Don't do this!" He cried, pleading her to put the potion down, to destroy it.
"My magic only hurts people! It's dangerous!" Emma sobbed.
Killian couldn't take this anymore.
"Your magic," Killian took a step closer, "is beautiful. It makes you the saviour and it is a part of you, so don't let that monster get into your head, my love," Killian tried to cup her cheek with his hand but she pulled away.
"But that's just it! My magic makes me a monster too!!!" Emma cried, tears started streaming down her beautiful face and it took all Killian had not to try to wipe them away.
Killian was fed up and the words escaped his lips without thinking. "You magic is a part of you. A part of the woman I love!" He was close to tears now too.
*******
Emma couldn't believe what he just said.
"You- you love me?" She asked, dumbstruck.
Killian chuckled lightly and took Emma's hand.
"Emma Swan, I have never loved anyone or anything in my life more than I love you. I'm in so deep for you, and I don't know what I'd do if you tried to change yourself, because I'm in love with Emma. Emma the saviour, Emma the princess, Emma the sherif, Emma the badass, Emma my girlfriend, Emma with magic. Yes, I'd love you with or without your magic, but Emma? Do you really think getting rid of such a huge part of yourself will do you any good? You have parents, a brother, a son who love you. I love you. No matter what the Snow Queen says, we love you, and we don't fear you, please, don't do this," Killian said with a gleam in his eye that Emma knew was sincere.
Emma shook her head.
With a shaky hand, she let the vial containing the potion fall to the ground and shatter.
Emma wrapped her arms around the back of Killian's neck and buried her face in his shoulder, yet again, sobbing "I'm sorry," and "Killian," over and over again.
*******
Killian sighed in relief as Emma hugged him.
They were both crying and all he could do was stroke her soft blonde hair affectionately and bury his head in it.
"I love you," he whispered once more.
"I love you too," Emma sobbed into his shoulder.
Killian's heart did a little flip in his chest as her kissed her forehead, then her cheek, then her lips.
*******
As their lips met, Emma knew she'd made the right decision in telling Killian her true feelings.
She loved Killian Jones with all her heart, all her soul and he loved her too.
As she felt her magic do little flips in her stomach, and she felt the happy butterflies, she was grateful she didn't drink that potion.
She was enough. This was enough. Her magic wasn't too much, the Snow Queen was, and Emma knew she wouldn't be for much longer.
They'd figure out how to get rid of her.
Together.
