The Truest of True
Killian gasped, as his lungs filled with air once more.
Above him, golden hair fell in a cascading halo around a beautiful woman. Emma, he realized.
His vision was blurred, but yes, he was sure it was Emma.
"Oh my god!" Emma sighed, pulling him close to her.
"Swan-" he started but was cut off by Emma punching him in the chest.
"You," she pointed her finger angrily at him, "Aren't allowed to talk," she growled.
Before he could react, she was crashing her lips to his.
"Emma, just tell me what happened," he laughed, breaking off the kiss.
The last thing he remembered was jumping in front of Maleficent as she threw a curse at Emma...
Suddenly everything started to piece together.
"Emma... Did you...?"
She nodded.
"Swan! I stopped her so you could get away, not come back and try to protect me, bloody hell!"
"Talk about protecting! You almost died!" Emma said, "She almost killed you and you're giving me a lecture. That's so... You!" Emma grumbled in frustration.
Killian chuckled as Emma shook her head and helped him up.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Aye, but I believe I should be asking you that question," Killian said.
"What?"
"I mean the fact that I was under a sleeping curse. And now I'm... Not. And clearly, it's because of you, so..." Killian stumbled on his words.
"Oh... That... Yeah. I kind of have to be but yeah, I'm okay with it," Emma said, seemingly distracted.
"Hey. Emma. What's wrong, love? You can tell me, it's okay," Killian said, gently catching her wrist with his hand as she began to walk away.
"It's nothing. I just- well, I almost had her. And then you went and pulled the overprotective boyfriend card and almost died in the process. You scared me, Killian," Emma said, clearly trying to hold back tears.
"Swan, I-"
"No, stop. You're going to give me a speech about how you'd never let her hurt me and it's going to make me cry and I'm trying really hard not to cry because I'm kinda overwhelmed that I have a freaking True Love and that it's Captain Hook because I never thought I'd get any of this and I just really love you and-"
Killian stopped her by crashing his lips to her's.
For a moment, they were lost in each other's eyes, then Killian spoke.
"I love you too. And you're right. I don't regret almost dying because it stopped you from getting hurt," he whispered against her lips.
Emma was full-on sobbing now, as Killian hugged her tightly.
"Come, Swan. Let's go home," he said as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and lead her out of the forest.
